I just bought a really clean high mileage tacoma with the 2tr-fe. I'm either going to build a motor this winter for it or overhaul the existing one next summer when I get my car back out and add a turbo. I'm pretty excited. I played around with the idea of swapping it to something fun but honestly I don't think I need it in this truck. I thought about putting a rotrex supercharger on there instead of adding a turbo and intercooler, but I really want the added gas mileage
I really enjoy watching this channel and your emphasis on reliability. How reliable is it to supercharge a 2019 Toyota Prada 2.7l petrol? What’s the most reliable boost level to make it super reliable with modest power increase? I have a Prada with less than 10k km, but find that the power when overtaking is really low and it is not that fuel efficient.
@@chechen_power1jz so far so good. I do recommend upgrading the coolant bypass line from the stock plastic tube to the metal tube found on Lexus models. This version engine has an aluminum head so we shall see how well it lasts compared to the iron ones found on the older 22re, etcs. I'm reaching 100,000 miles. This engine doesn't come with alot of power so if that what you are looking for you will have to spend some money to get it there or buy a v6 or v8. Good luck.

What's the fuel consumption in that as standard and after? My '18 2.7l M/T Hilux 2x4 2dr cab-chassis gets around 500klms per tank unloaded, weight 1700kg. My '12 Kluger with 3.5l V6 2wd gets around 550klms per tank, weight 2000kg plus with 200 killer wasps as standard. This mod doesn't make sense in such a heavy vehicle like the Fortuner. Also I have never known any size car like the Fortuner or Tacoma to come with the 2.7l 4cyl in Australia!
Sir no one asked in comments, but how much boost your getting for rotrex supercharger? Mine is 2kd diesel fortuner turbo at 35psi. I want supercharger so turbolag is gone

You can’t compound or twin turbo a hiace If you want more power, compound turbo isn’t the answer You need full exhaust 35000 Front mount intercooler 30000 Ecu remap/reflash 30000
If this can be done on 2TR, wby not in 1TR MT in an Innova? Parang sleeper car kumbaga, papalag sa mga mayabang na civic ricers. If i do have the money and unit why not? Pero kung pang daily lang pwede na remap
