Thank you so much. Best review of this car I've seen. You hit all the things someone wants without having to drive to the dealership myself. The 2nd row is pretty good, I thought they had compromised on the 2nd row but this video shows it very well. I see some vids on the new Lexus TX and it appears the 2nd row is a bit cramped. If you ever do a video on the TX, I'd like to compare. I know they are on the same platform but Toyota has been doing some weird engineering lately.
A little suggestion for the video maker : next time show us also the interior lights (ambient lights inside for evening travel, bc we would like to see that and no one does that. Thank you.
Wife was about to reserve a platinum awd grand highlander. We were actually getting ready to go to the dealership when the new Traverse was launched. Now the wife wants to wait to compare the 2
Thanks for your review. I was wondering your take on if this is bigger than the Pilot? The numbers say this is a little bigger but I’m wondering how noticeable it is. Thanks in advance.
I would say it’s definitely pretty good space in the second row leg room wise. That’s where you might notice it. Though I honestly feel like the vertical depth of the cargo behind the 3rd row is more in the pilot due to the under flow space. Though the horizontal depth might be less in the pilot so it might come out a bit less overall. See my video and you’ll see what I am talking about.
@@automaticYT I just watched it, i see what you mean. I figure in day to day use I won’t notice so I’ll order a Pilot since it has the V6 over this turbo
I like the cargo space and 3rd row space, as my family is all 5 feet 9 inches and below the 3rd row leg room is plenty even if the 2nd row seats are moved all the way back, much better than the regular highlander. As far as standard features the platinum comes with it looks like more than enough for most people, How do you like the stormcloud blue color in person? to me it sometimes looks darker and sometimes lighter, depending on the viewing angle and lighting.
Checkout my Honda Pilot video, if you value cargo space more then other things, I feel like the pilot had more cargo space behind the 3rd row with the under the floor minivan style storage area. Not to mention the pilot offer 8 seats in its highest trim which Grand Highlander platinum doesn’t. If you really want a Toyota though, can’t beat the grand highlander for the money. The color is more like grayish blue in person. depending on the angle you look at it from, it might look different.
What you think about: 2024 Grand Highlander Hybrid, Hybrid Limited? does it even have enough power or should I get Max version? its about 10K difference. Thanks.
So I would stay away from the hybrid if you want power. It’s sole priority is gas mileage l. If you want the best of the grand highlanders the Hybrid Max is the way to go. I prefer it frankly. Just know that the HybridMax regardless of the trim, you can’t get in a 8 seater config.
Toyota makes Fantastic vehicles but when they got rid of the fabulous V6 engine for a 4 banger with turbo and the weight of SUV the engine works twice as hard especially going up hills instead of Naturally Aspirated V6 Engine I will stick with Honda Pilot V6 making 285 horsepower will out last that engine many more years .
Not sure about other brands, but in my experience Toyotas actually are pretty good about mileage. They might loose a few miles from the ratings overtime but if you drive sensibly, they do for the most part get the mileage they advertise.
I'm driving a 23 Highlander Hybrid Platinum. The worst I've ever gotten on a trip of 10 miles or more is perhaps 32. Normally I'll get 35-37, and on occasion I've even gotten over 40. Of course, I'm not talking about the GH, but still, I am getting the numbers published for the vehicle.
Model year 2024 is correct. The transmission is 8 speed auto not 6 speed auto. Look at the window sticker at the end and here is the confirmation from the Toyota’s website. www.toyota.com/configurator/build/step/model:engine-drive-transmission/year/2024/series/grandhighlander/model/6712/?bap_guid=1dcb8f5a-89dd-44c8-9b2b-11e96f363767
