Great video explanation! The AC for my vehicle (an '05 Highlander) would cut out, instead blowing hot air despite the knob being turned to maximum cooling. Upon disassembly, the flex connector appeared to be only barely connected by the middle wire. Resoldering (and adding some hot glue at the connections for support) seems to have fixed the issue.
That's the same problem I had many years ago.. Only the middle wire was connected.. Hot glue seems like a good idea for support.. I'll use that If there's ever a next time..
