how many times have you watched movies to see cars but they sound completely different to what they really are? this commercial is the EXACT way a hilux really is. Everything about it is so accurate its amazing!!
basically, the hilux is available everywhere, except USA.I know it's available in spain, and probably, in other European countres, like england. It's also available in South America, and probably in Asia, as this generation is made in Argentina, but also in Malaysia.
Lol awesome. These trucks are tough as nails. They're our primary mode of trans in northern Nigeria when we visit. Wish they had em here! I;m American and I guess what i'd do with it is ummmm.....drive it?
@Slyk3r TyhapsChik is right the ad was made to market the Hilux in New Zealand. It was made in New Zealand. It is New Zealanders that get teased as being sheep shagers because of the fact we have so many sheep in New Zealand. So its totaly aimed at the New Zealand market.
@indianadutton: No they don't, completely different and in north america they don't sell the diesel one either, they stopped selling it in 1983 in the USA
@duxante When they "split appart" (the tacoma appeared in the States, but in the rest of the world the hilux continued to be made) they were very similar, in terms of appearence and engineering. But the Tacoma was specifically designed for the NA market, that means, softer suspension, better ride quality, more safety and convenience features, more powerful engines, and so on... If you check wikipedia you'll see that the tacoma engines are more powerful than the ones available in the hilux
@Slyk3r yeh it was made for the NZ market but you are also quite right in saying that it can be aired on Australian tv to. Especally as Australia is a very simular country to NZ in alot of ways.
@pandaonweed Hilux its a TurboDiesel (petrol) engine and its a comfortable 2.5 to 3.0 one. Tacoma its a pain in the ass 3.0 - 4.0 Gasol Also u wont find the the toyota Fortuner or the toyota LandCruiser. Prado in America.
@pandaonweed Tacoma doesn't stand up to Hilux. The day that they sell a diesel Tacoma or when they sell the diesel Hilux in the US is the day that I'll buy one. For now I'll stick to my Tundra in hopes that one day that will be sold as a diesel as well!
Hi-Lux ad where he's talking to kids etc. then kid asks him.. 'what do you do again?' and he tells him he drives a Hi-Lux..??¿ and it falls horribly flat.. The kid should ask him.. 'What do you drive Mr..? ' then he says.. WHAT DO I DRIVE..!.. I DRIVE A.. HI-LUX..! then camera should pan back on class of kids who all have startled joyous looks on their faces as they go up for a slow mo 'oh Wata beauty Toyota' jump..!
the 2005-present Toyota Hilux/ Toyota Hilux Vigo/ Guangzhou Toyota Hilux is assembled in Zarate, Argentina Cumaná, Venezuela Karachi Sindh, Pakistan Chachoengsao, Thailand Samut Prakan, Thailand Durban, South Africa Guangzhou, China Santa Rosa City, Laguna, Philippines
I love this hilux very much. look nice and engine is fast. body so tough but the stability is worse. It cannot taking corner fast like other pick up like dmax and triton. rear too light and fail moose test.
@pulloa430 Yup. We had Hiluxes in Afghanistan. Those things are TOUGH! I really wish they did sell the Hilux in the U.S. I would forgo the luxury of the Tacoma for the simplicity and durability of the Hilux. Make mine a turbo diesel please!
