Love it. My first farm car was one of these. Got it when i was 10 and had a hell of a lot of fun in that thing, even though it was a tired 1600, 4 on the tree, and holes in the floor. Currently have 3 or 4 of them floating around the car farm.

Probably a 5.3 or 4.8 LS, you can get them in running condition for about 100-300 bucks at a pick and pull.

If five people who didn't know what a power slide were watching this video and happened to scroll down to the comments and read OP's comment, they would think that what they saw was indeed a "power slide". Now, while conversing with their friends or strangers online, they might further spread this misunderstanding. And so on, and so forth. And all of it could have been prevented by one person speaking up. That's why things like this must be nipped in the bud before they get out of hand. If there is one duty we have to society, it is to preserve and uphold the truth. Without truth, a society has no sense of direction and will soon find itself in dire straits.

I wouldn't mind a V8 700bhp swapped in for my 1.9cdti, but my Astra Estate would have to have a RWD conversion too. Oh and I still want to get 50mpg as well.

I dig this thing because it still has a bed. It seems like everyone is all about bagging trucks and hacking up the bed with huge axle tunnels. To me trucks are only cool if you can still haul stuff in them.

This is my plan almost exactly for my 1990 isuzu. I want a beams swap, with a miata rear suspension subframe and diff. I already have the junk miata, and live right next to JDM orlando. If i could get a saturday AND sunday off in a month, wed be gravy

Kyle Rombousek do you plan on using the 6 speed they come with? With an engine like that, you’d be so set. Stock, it makes enough horsepower to be seriously fun and it’s easily reliable for well over 200k miles. Such a perfect swap.

Its been a longggg process but in a couple months, i should be going to jdm orlando! That gives me time to decide rear suspension, the more i look into it, the more i might just go with a 4 link solid axle rear, no more leaf springs! And i founf stiffer torsion springs for the front, 2" drop spindles, and im thinking a junkyard ford explorer rear end. My only issue with my truck is the 6 bolt lug pattern. Very limited on wheel/brake options. But i love the beams engine. Something about higher powered NA 4 bangers gets me goin
