Hand Built Toyota DRIFT UTE by Nigel Petrie of ENGINEERED TO SLIDE 

I remember following this build and being blown away by your skill and determination.

I remember checking the blog everyday hoping for the Hilux update and by doing so fell in love with custom bikes as well. You are an Inspiration to us mere mortals!

It’s inspiring what you have done from a humble single garage beginning. One of my favourite cars ever.

You had me worried with the air cylinders until I saw the built in stands. Nice work.

So much attention to detail. Amazing. A true dream car. May be over the top, but this is Australia's answer to project binky.

It’s so nice to see such a high end build left one solid color and looking like the actual vehicle. I hate the trend of crazy livery’s and colors on drift cars.

I started following this build about 2012 on Instagram it’s one of my favorite Toyota’s ever! I’m glad to see it’s still around, this goes to show you it was ahead of its time. Great work I can’t wait fo the next build like this!

Man I remember this on a speed hunters article, Dino really made this look like a race shop built car, I can't believe it was your first time welding and fabricating

This was one of the best car build videos I've ever watched. This is exactly how I'd build any race car, amazing work. Video production was great as well.

Iv been into drifting for awhile and this is THE COOLEST DRIFT TRUCK(CAR) I HAVE EVER EVER EVER SEEN.

Looking at the car on video doesn't do it justice but super informative.

Always loved this build! It was my inspiration to begin to design and build my own RC drift cars.

I love this so much. I live in Florida, we didn't get the "Hilux" here they're simply called pickups up until '95. I'm currently building an '88 and getting ready to stuff a 2j in it. My plans are nowhere near as refined as yours, but the attention to details with your build and determination has certainly inspired me.Thanks for sharing

This project is the standard for all projects. So cool and inspiring. Definitely an influential build before the modern tube chassis trends.

Dude. I saw you building this years ago & thouhgt you must have known how to Tig already. To think that you learned as you went, makes me feel better about learning to use my own TIG that ive had for almost 2 years & still not really learned how to use it. Im going to give it a go now... maybe not build an entire tube chassis, but ive wanted to make rock sliders & a tyre mount for my Jeep.

my favorit truck built

5:22 Noticed there isn't any exposed thread sticking out of your upper a arm bolts on the rear suspension. Back when I did Formula SAE the tech inspection wanted to see 2 exposed threads past the nylock.

Sick as fuck. Iv been saying for years I'd love to see a drift truck. Every now and then you might see a Nissan hardbody. Love the rube chassis and the built in hydrogen shock jack system

Awesome build mate, your choice of materials is very wise, on my Honda I looked at charging some steel body panels out for carbon fibre or fibreglass, but most of them were so light there would have been no gain by changing the materials from steel.... looming forward to checking your links out.
