This has changed my perception of innova. Didn't know rear wheel drive was such an important feature for an SUV. BEST AUTOMOTIVE VIDEO I HAVE SEEN THIS YEAR.

Always knew this. Bought the Innova in 2005, and then again in 2019, after 14 years. Won't give it up for any silly, flashy 'feature' inside a car. What matters to me is confidence to go anywhere without fear of breakdown or getting stuck. Innova is peerless, even if you pay a few lakhs more.

Mpv's are underrated, mpv stands for multi-purpose vehicle which means it is MULTI-PURPOSE. People say innova's an mpv just based on looks, which is also modern day people's classification tool for an mpv vs suv. There's much more to a car than the looks

The water jar test should be replaced with a G-sensor or similar module. Results would be more accurate and true to the test.

Informative video. I always knew rear-wheel drive will help while going uphill but really good to see this is application. Handling of the innova is also a surprise. Can you try the same uphill climb on an XUV700 AWD? This will truly test how good the AWD is.

The Hilux used to be very unstable truck. Check out the Moose test of their old gens. They might have improved now but has Innova also upgraded to that new platform?

Innova feels more rugged and purposeful of the three. It has enough power&torque for the road. It is still a safer car.It has better service support. It has better resale.It is cheaper to maintain. Smaller tires are more economical to replace compared to 18-inch tyres. It sells to large group of families, cab operators, politicians and industries every month & Still waiting period ins't more than 2 months. Where these suvs really shines is with their pricing. We get the top end at the base or mid variant price of the innova. The base model of the innova didn't give the feel of the 25lakh car. The mid variant is priced ahead of the top variants of safari and xuv. The innova should have worked on pricing or make the cabin feel worth 25-30lakh car.

How can a front wheel drive XUV be an SUV even at the first place?...

Lol, we have the XUV700 AX7L AWD+AT variant and it is perfect in some of our non existent roads in North East. It also works perfectly in the hills. We have an Innova (non crysta) as well and the AWD on the XUV700 (while not the best), does it’s job with no issues. No troubles climbing steep slopes and doing 120kmph on highways. Edit: Maybe try comparing the AWD model next time.

I would be confused about which front wheeled 7 seat suv to buy the Tata Safari or the Xuv700. But I would buy the Toyota Innova without a second thought. Why? Because it's built to last.

It's just about the appearance. If the bonnet and the windshield of Innova was tweaked to look like an SUV, it's sales would triple. MPV gives a soccer mom vibe.

This is what happens when you use overgrown hatchbacks as SUV. Especially the Safari. If you want to implement a monocoque platform, then copy the entire awd architecture as well.

For the fundamentals and so called SUV'ness Innova is the dominator as its a rear wheel drive ladder frame MPV. Mann It just changed my perspective to Innova !! I had a crush on XUV and my love was Safari..but seems like Innova is the real Queen here ! I have XUV700 diesel manual... I am getting average of 19kmpl on highways if drove below 100kmph... within city i am getting 14kmpl... I have calculated the average by tank to tank method.. This new M-Hawk engine is just phenomenal.. if u want average you will get that.. if you are in a mood for power then just touch the pedal and in no time it touches 180... its astonishing to see that even after 140 if you floor the pedal you will get pulled in your seat... Loving it...

Nothing can come closer to Toyota's 💪 Legendary Monster Bomb proof Reliability, Quantity, Durability & safety and more importantly Toyota means A Trust 🙏 Using Innova Since 2008 (4.5L Kms) almost 15yrs still it is butter smooth wagon with puss free pocket friendly maintainance

The crystas a legend Travelled around 350kms in it recently with 5 adults and 130kg of luggage and with a fractured shoulder cruising at 120kmph non stop I had relatively less body stress. Impressive high speed ride. It was a 2.4 manual. Car felt kind of nerving at that speed But still for a ladder frame truck in Indian highways, i was impressed

Wounderful work.... Can u please repeat it with innova hycross, mahindra scorpio N and innova crysta.. Specially the loose surface hilll climb test was eye opner, i booked 30 lakh+ crysta in may 2023 after watching same.... i am fully doubtful of loose surface hill climb capability of hycross top model...

Thank you Zigwheels team for proving this point. But, I want you to put safety precautions in place and let an inexperienced FWD SUV owner(someone with a fat pay check but negligible driving skills) to drive through this incline test because, most of the Indian car buyers/drivers lack awareness about these situations and need to learn a lot. Because of the heavy taxation system, Toyota has not scaled in India. Else, if see in West, Toyota is dominating and will put any car to shame.

All 3 SUVs are almost same on-road price. Here Innova is over priced, that is the problem. For day to day life ADAS & auto stop cruise kind of features would be very useful. That way i like xuv 700, but unnecessary sunroof, reduces its body strength is also one major drawback there. Safari is under powered.
