I have a 2008 Innova with engine remap done to deliver the power and torque at a slightly higher rpm and the roll on times from 40 to 110 kmph in 4th/5th gear is as good as my other car Laura TSI. The Innova is the most reliable machine, you need to take it for a service only when you feel guilty that you haven't for a long time....and the van like appearance makes it look more menacing when it goes around corners as good as most cars on Indian roads...perfect car.
so you were in indonesia to reviewing this all new innova, im looking really forward for you guys to review the all new fortuner...it just has been launched in Indonesia one week ago.. nice review anyway, keep up the good work :)
loved the show i have the 2013 model of Toyota Innova and I am amazed and shocked on how much improvements it has made loved the exterior and interior and also the new engine waiting for the launch of this model in INDIA hope it gets more love than the ongoing one
can you also make a review of the entry level model for the new 2016 toyota innova for your viewers who are on a tight budget? in the philippines, the entry model is called "J". thanks in advance...
It's been seen that most Brands bring cars to India with certain stuffs missing or downsized in terms of features to price it right in the market. The projector headlights might be tossed out. The seating material might change, it might even get an all plastic dash unlike the one shown here once it lands in India just to price it that way. But that's something only time will tell.
There's no way that the 150 PS motor will make it to the Indian market. It will ruin the already bad mileage proposition of the current Innova. Also, with Delhi state's >2L engine ban, and Mahindra already deploying its 1.99L mHAWK engine on its MPVs, this car could be further delayed to add a
corners!!! in an MUV! you can't be serious to consider it as a factor. it's sad they've not addressed the engine noise post 100kmph... they just can't price it higher, too many options & competition is catching up. Eagerly waiting for the Hexa/new Aria!
I called up Toyota and enquired about this car the gentleman on the other side said that the estimated price for the automatic will be a Shocking 24-25 lacs. Toyota cannot place it above Altis... Altis is 20-21lacs on road. I own an 2009 Altis BTW... So this ain't prejudiced opinion about Toyota. also high possibility that Toyota will only give two airbags. It will be unveiled in May 15
The Interiors are fantastic.. Much better than the current model on sale, but the side profile on the outside is a let down. Wish Toyota would have given it a more SUVish look. The front and rear are appealing too.
Toyota should have two models of this new Innova-one fully loaded with different looks...altogether and one with no frills taxi model. Restrictions in colour, grill or features can have a self driven Innova class.
Great review sir! I think the tail lights will be a turnoff for many and the side profile looks very similar to a van compared to last year's elegantly designed side of the innova.
On the bootlid of the car it says Kijang which was what the Qualis was called in the South East Asian region. As history has it the Qualis was replaced by the Innova and to my surprise toyota indonesia calls this new iteration of the innova as kijang innova. So there you have it. The reason for the ghastly look explained. Wonder if they'll ever do a cross between the fortuner and the land cruiser....?
The Exterior Iook is not up to the Mark ... But the Interiors are Pretty Great .. i feel that they could have given a little more power to the Engine...
People who buy innova are looking for practicality not looks. If you want looks get a corolla altis. I have 2009 model of altis and it has never broken down. same goes for my etios which is still running like new since 2012
3rd ROW isnt that comfortable .. (looks so) TUV 300 Update Could.be Nicer with Interior upgrade like AC vents Engine Update with I4 based on Falcon D75(kuv) may be a D100 So damn great to have 7 seater under 4M ;1.5 diesel rule lets not forget the front;arm rest 3rd passenger seat that Might be even Cool
+truestar1995 I bought my G3 model back in 2006 for 8 lac. was a nice car,but it was a bit underpowered at full payload and high speeds, I miss it though. But the same model now costs 13 , I know its been 10 years but is it worth around 60-70 percent hike for the same generation. The answer is, the demand never went down, so toyota pushed the price up and no body complained, Iam sure the new one will sell irrespective of the price, because we are Indians and its a Toyota Innova.
truestar1995 Fleet owners will replace the innovas with similar sized wagons. Ertiga is one, Renault Lodgy, arya, xylo etc. Tourists demand Innova because its available. A Xylo is as good a tourist car as an innova.
Be Indian and Buy Indian products... We have choices like Mahindra, Tata. By bying these vechiles, we can provide more challenging / innovative job opportunities to our kids who are studying BE automobiles in our country and prevent them from joining in IT jobs. Let us spend our money wisely for our future generation. Mahindra and Tata has huge money reserves but need expertise to come out with great products. Solution?.. compromise a bit....... Jai Hind... I tried XUV 500, amazing performance. I tried TATA safari. It is also very good. ......
God Knows What does u all think but I live this car as a simple man it may be much highly charges but if I want to buy a car as per family needs than I should walk through inova both model old and also new
Of course will be much more expensive now. The current model itself is priced at 20L! Looks a bit ugly from the rear. I will chose the Tata Hexa 4x4 over this expensive guzzler.
hahahaha.... Toyota didn't bother to modify the automatic shift lever positioning for right hand steering. It's clearly left-hand steering biased. No problem, as re-engineering it for a few markets is a real pain. It'll mostly go unnoticed too.
manages to look ugly and good at the same time! the interior is well sorted though way better than the current one! 147 bhp? it must have a top speed of a million now? ;) looks good overall! waiting for this to be launched here! Amazing review!
+Mr. Mxyzptlk thats enough for a car vastly not driven by the owners. Endevours and pajeros weigh more and put out similar power, fortuners are quite fast and heavier although more powerful. I understand it might come across as a not so fast car to you provided you drive high power diesel salons or something like that, but i assure you that its much faster than the current generation.
Toyota Innova is a good car.. nice quality.. but it is a facelift.. interior changed a lot but still behind the time and pricing will be too high.. not a great result.. was expecting much better than this.. in the end we can call it a facelift instead of sayin all mew innova
i wonder if toyota could use their current models' body (a refreshed version) and give it out a much better interior better engine and more features!! disappointed from this new look of innova!
