I finally get around to inspecting the body work on my 1964 FJ40 Land Cruiser has been taking a brief break from the channel as I begin sourcing the expensive parts on the project. I finished buttoning up the rear differential and install high quality bolts to the rear brake caliper brackets. Now it's on to sourcing the final steering components, installing pedals, bleeding the brakes, and taking the Land Cruiser for a quick test drive! Subscribe to watch this project unfold!!! #fj40 #landcruiser #projectcar

Ouch man that hurt😅 first get yourself a set of JIS Screwdrivers. Everyone uses a philipshead on those screws, but they are different they are Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS). Saves you from alot of broken and stripped heads. Sorry to ask but have you welded thin sheetmetal before? You cant just make a bead of weld like on a thick piece of steel. You need to tack it up and switch from side to side, so it doest get too hot. If you try to make a bead no wonder you fall through. I hope you didnt scrap the doors yet, they didnt seem to be too bad. For welding sheetmetal, go and watch fitzees fabrication on youtube, great guy to learn from! Dont get discouraged, I made the same mistakes as I started with the old cruisers.

Thanks for the advice! I ordered some JIS screwdrivers after hopping around the forums. I am very much an amateur welder and have not welding thin metal. I didn't throw them out but I am looking for a set of replacements because this is out of my skill level at the moment. The concept of tacking it makes sense. I have a TIG welder I can try that with but it's going to take some practice on my end to get this right.
