I replaced my stock speakers with newer Pioneer brand speakers retaining stock speaker grills. I found some info on forums that kind of explained how to do it, but I figured I’d make a video to help the next guy know what he’ll be up against.

Having those door cards off would have been an excellent time to add sound deadening. Definitely does help!

Great video. I did the rears just like you and now i am going to do the fronts. What did you uses for the spacers in the front?

I should have included that in the video. I used a few washers on each screw behind the speaker.

@@residualboulders how thick did the washers add up to? Was it 1 inch?

@@BinnJason it was just a few so probably 1/4”. It’s been a while, but I know it wasn’t an inch worth of stacked washers

Unfortunately, the front stock grills on 1994 LC shattered when I removed them.

wish i would have remembered to film that. I just used several washers, didn't need to be spaced much if I remember right.

Mine has the same packaging tape so it must be stock.

Oh really? Maybe. I couldn't see anything else that looked like it had ever been disturbed back there.
