My 1963. Dodge power wagon used to out perform my buddies 1969 Land Cruiser and my other buddies 1970 Ford Bronco. All vehicles were stock except for bigger tires and a lift and posi rear ends. That power wagon was a monster I could also pull tree stumps out with very little digging in first gear it was an excellent an rock crawler mudder sand dunes rough mountain trails snow or rain I even out climbed a 400 Honda quad at competition hill in Palm springs that was crazy all other jeeps Broncos FJ stood and watched they all went half way up and had to back down
daniel rickel reversed and improved which US companies can also do but won’t because they are mired in beureacratic quicksand. Embarrassing. Like Toyota says any manufacturer is welcome to reverse engineer Toyota but would fail if they could not improve on what they copied. Toyota wants to be challenged but nobody can so they continually challenge theme selves.
Joe Guzman I have been thinking the same for quiet sometime. I would love to see another "raw" 4x4 vehicle besides the pansy ass mall crawlers now. Way too much crap in them today.
Toyota co. copied the American WW II. jeeps, they dismantled them bolt by bolt and copied every piece Japanese stole the jeeps or found them abandoned in the war fields, also if you look at the early model 1951 Toyota cars it looks like they copied Volks wagon
joe carreon copied and IMPROVED. nothing is stopping US companies from doing the same but they didn’t and now they can’t . So GM is laying off and switching to electric cars. But their already 20 years behind the Prius. The question is why can’t the “no longer” big three build cars as good or better. Because not only did they blink in the 1960 and 1970’s, they kept their eyes shut and tried to ignore Toyota. Then one day they woke up and BAM ! WTF happened!!!!? Uncle Sam and the taxpayers gotta Bail em out and still didn’t help and now their laying off and building mediocre crap.
