I was hoping it would integrate the backup cam for live recording. That would be a major bump in the value proposition. Regardless, thanks for the videos and perspective!
Totally agree! And the rearview Mirror cam which is mounted in the rear window too. But I think it puts too much liability on them because some states are two party, meaning that legally both the person recording and anyone recorded have to consent to it which I think is dumb considering how much of our lives is recorded in general. I think if those laws changed we’d see a ton of innovation in this space.
@@joshjamescars But isn't recording in public a constitutionally protected act? Tesla cameras capture all different angles and I always wonder why more companies don't do it.
It depends on you state. Some states have laws that require both parties to consent to video and or audio recordings outside of private property. These are outdated and antiquated laws IMO, but they’re laws nonetheless and carmakers take on liability if they include that. Tesla just takes on a ton of liability and then sometimes gets burned by it later (like them having to disable remote window operation because they don’t have a mechanism to automatically stop and reverse the windows if there’s resistance like every other automaker has since the eighties).
Seriously, agree, I was really tempted to order this as an option if I was getting a lexus or toyota. I thought this was going to be like the tesla system that records from all angles and integrates with the cars camera system... Thanks for the review and this comment
It’s not, but that’s a good thing. See this article on how tesla actually uses and accessed people’s “private” camera footage: apple.news/ArrlpAkXQTO2hSHsRC5rWOg
Josh, Thanks so much for this. Just picked up my 2024 RAV4 XSE with this Dashcam. The app is beyond glitchy, it’s useless. App on my iPhone will not pair no matter what I do. (Apparently this seems to be universal: 1 2/2 stars on the App Store). And remember, this is a DASH cam - only forward facing. It’s absolutely crazy that Toyota did not integrate it into its 360 degree camera built into the vehicle! I’m putting my Rove3 Dashcam into this vehicle - front, interior, rear cameras - all for less than $200 now. Flawless operation and amazing tech support.
I get his point tho, he means in the event of an incident. I run Viofos and have speed on but lat/long off, my philosophy is better to have it and crop/edit it out than wish it was there when it wasn't recorded. Similar driving style, 100mph+ highway cruiser in Texas, traffic permitting. Our highway road quality is simply that good, where that's left lane flow of traffic.
@rhntx I find you all in DFW drive way faster than we do (which I love). I always say the DNT is like being in Mario Kart (and I drive that at least 5-6 times a year).
Great review, Josh. Your presentation is clear and well scripted. Keep being you. I just took delivery of my new Land Cruiser in which your video was a big help. Thanks, again!
@@nasiib157 The OEM works great and is tucked away, easy for her to operate if needed; ended up getting a garmin mini for my taco and plug and easy install with play adapter from with dongar.
Hi and thanks for the review. I am currently shopping for a Venza and had wanted the Toyota dash-cam. It’s price is only $375 as an installed option from the factory, which I considered a bargain. The problem is that hardly any are built with it and the dealers want $1600 for the part and install. I thank you for the tip to get them to comp the install. I hope it works.
Hello! Thank you and good luck to you! $1,600 is absolutely ridiculous for that and I would definitely pass on it. Having said that, I really don’t know if I’d do it again, I think you can do just as well with a good Garmin or something so if it doesn’t work out, I wouldn’t sweat it.
I was also looking on getting this but think I would pass and look at Best Buy options. I did really want to go with the Toyo brand but looks to be outdated on how it works with the app and all. Also want a back camera for my prime.
I have this for my truck. Problem is you can’t get connected to it if you are using the wireless CarPlay since both use Wi-Fi to connect. Toyota needs to do better.
Thanks for this review. I have a new 2024 Grand Highlander (here in the north Austin/ Cedar Park area). I have this dashcam but no real operational clues on how to use it. I have the app and have connected to the camera once successfully but there doesn’t appear to be any recordings on the chip. I’m putting a new 128GB micros card in it today. The original chip causes a continuous beeping like it is at full capacity or something but, again, I really don’t have any helpful operational documentation. I’m glad I found your offerings. I’ll checkout some more.
Thank you and congratulations on the new Grand Highlander! That’s so strange about the recording issues. If a new memory card doesn’t fix it, definitely take it back to the dealer.
Most dashcams source their hardware from the same manufacturers. Sony produces the sensor for a lot of dashcams. So, the quality you get from most dashcams is essentially going to be the same. The premium you're paying for this is for it being integrated into the car. You don't have to go through the hassle of setting it up and hardwiring it to the nearest fuse. I've been through that, it's a pain to do. Now, one drawback to this integrated dashcam is that you cannot buy a random 3rd party model that runs off USB and just plug it in. Your only choice with this one is to hope Lexus comes out with a new one every few years that utilizes the latest hardware.
Very helpful, thanks. I am in Texas as well, and the sun cooked the circuit board of my Blackvue after a few summers. They were good to replace it, but still, the Texas sun is brutal. Hope this stands up to it. Was curious about parking mode, but you answered that in the comments. I guess this does not have an additional rear-facing camera option? I guess I could use my Blackvue for that. Really glad the integrated camera is now available. Thanks for all of the info in your video from a car owner perspective!
That’s exactly my concern! And likewise, have had the sun cook a few really expensive dashcams. What is interesting to me is that since this one taps into the car’s wiring and thus can access power even when the car is off, it may not have a battery and that’s what swelled and killed my other dashcams. And unfortunately this doesn’t have a rear facing or interior facing option. I have the digital mirror which has a camera that’s perfectly placed in the rear window and if they could just add an SD card for local storage that would be a PERFECT rear facing cam. And thanks for watching and for your comment!
@@joshjamescars Sounds like a good idea to integrate recording into the rear cam. Maybe that will come in the future. I didn't know that the integrated front dashcam was coming, so I am really happy to see that. I always had issues with battery drain in parking mode, even with a voltage sensor cut-off device. Since this one is integrated, that shouldn't be a worry. Even though I am not in Austin, I shipped my Blackvue to The Dashcam Store there for service. They were really helpful. Thanks again for your detailed videos. Hope your dashcam resists the heat and works well for you.
@@joshjamescarshey Josh I have is350 and I want to buy oem camera. How easy is to install it. Do I go to my dealer or it can be installed anywhere else? I found the camera on EBay for about 350
@Djjsndnndnnzjjs I would have your dealer install it, I believe there’s a wiring harness that’s also required, and you’ll want to be sure that your car is compatible with the camera before you buy from eBay.
As a manufacturer what you want to do if you make the camera is have video quality that is “good enough”. That enables the camera to capture more video which is the main goal. Is the SD card full size or mini? If the car is stollen you may be out of luck because it sounds like the camera footage is on the camera? Or is it in the app stored remotely? That is an important differentiator. The camera use case is phenomenal specific to ergonomics. So you’re saying it is glued to the glass? If one has to replace the windshield because of a large freeway rock,do you have to pay for reinstallation of the camera?
Very few dash cams store footage to the cloud. That would require a ton of bandwidth and data usage to be moving gigabytes of footage daily from the camera to the cloud and back. The ones that do that often come with a hefty data plan. And yes, the camera is glued to the windshield but it uses an adhesive pad that can be replaced and put on the new windshield.
Depending on how long the video footage is, they can still determine your speed based upon how long it takes you to get from one mile marker to the next.
I was looking for you to indicate what I think is the most important part of having a dash cam, and that is can you save video if you are involved in an accident. Most good cameras have that feature.
Of course you can, which it will do automatically upon what it thinks might be an impact or by hitting the action button. I recommend checking out the product page for all features.
Thanks for this video. We bought a 2023 Lexus GX last summer and wanted the camera but you get what's on the lot (last year anyway). I just bought a Garmin Dash cam Mini 2 and mounted it in the Lexus but that RED light that was on all the time was a No Go. I tried to hide it behind the rear view mirror but you just can't. I took it out and put it in my Tundra where it easily hides behind the rear view mirror. So now I want to get this OEM one. It's $295 from the dealer. I don't want to pay $500 for them to install it so if it's that much I will install it myself (god help us).
Good video! This week I had the dealer install the integrated dash cam in my '23 ES 350, and I agree with everything you said but I wish they'd made it so the microSD card was easier to remove without risk of having it fall into some deep crevice in the car where I'll never find it. I feel certain that will happen one of these days, and then I'll have to see if they stock a replacement part.
That’s why the SD card is attached to the little door that it comes out of. So you pull the door open and then pull the card out with it and that way you’re holding onto that piece the whole time.
Hello, thanks for the video on the OEM. I was checking out the Toyota website, and it said the OEM dashcam has options, so I like how the footage looks. It's not the best or worst, but it does the job. I'd probably get it if I was buying a new Toyota for myself. Also, I have a question. It comes with 16 GB of storage. Can you upgrade it for more storage by getting a bigger SD drive? And can you delete old footage? If I had to get this cam, I'd get it for insurance purposes.
Great product overview and awareness of possible unexpected or hidden costs. Maybe I missed it - when does it activate? I saw the reply comment about reverse-in parking and getting bumped whilst parked … so is it motion gyro/sensor activated, functions when the ignition is turned on, is it manually actuated (the “ACTION” button), etc.
So this works just like any other dashcam. When the vehicle is on, it’s always recording to the SD card in a series of 2-minute clips. As the card fills up, it overwrites older clips automatically unless the clip was flagged as potentially containing an accident which can be done manually by hitting the action button or automatically if the camera detects unusual motion thru the gyro/accelerometer. Those flagged files are saved to the SD card in a special folder that won’t be overwritten.
Thanks for the video. I think I will get it with my new Toyota. But, I’m surprised there’s not a shroud around the lens that is flushed with the glass. That would eliminate so much of the reflection. Seems like such an easy thing to improve the quality.
The same unit needs to fit in every car they make, all of which have different windshields that are mounted at different angles, so there would need to be a different shroud for every vehicle in order to do that, which I assume is why that isn’t offered.
@@joshjamescars That makes sense, but I bet they could design an adjustable shroud. Something that would telescope and have a soft rubbery head that could be lightly pressure-fitted against the glass forming a seal. I'm going to work on that, and who knows...maybe sell the idea to Toyota. 😁
Thanks for getting back to us so quickly with your responses! What’s the microphone button for in the middle? When would you use that? I worry about the unit recording my conversations.
Hello! That’s to cut the mic. In some states it’s actually illegal to record audio in public. I always leave it on, though. The thing that I like about this is that it only stores video on the internal card so unless someone were to break into your car and steal the card, it’ll never get hacked into.
Actually it does! If the accelerometer or gyro senses motion it’ll activate and start recording. Can confirm that it works. Someone bumped my car with their body while it was parked at the airport during one of my work trips and it picked them up hauling their luggage away.
Thank you so much! Unfortunately I’m not a professional car reviewer so I don’t have access to any vehicle I may wish to drive, I just do this as a hobby with our cars.
I was doing the same. Went w/ the Venza because it would be an additional $10k to get an NX w/ the same features. The Venza interior seems so much roomier even though the measured dimension aren't THAT different. Was trying to compare the cabins for noise but hard to compare. Seemed the same but now that I have the Venza, I would like it to be more quiet. My expectations may be too much tho.
@@joshjamescars Thank you I could not find one The reason for asking is because the Lrxus dealership installed the dashcam in my GX and it looks kind of weird from the rear view. The 3M base plate tape looks kind of weird , wrinkled and it has air gaps They said it's normal
Great video and explanation of usage. How would you compare this to the Fitcamx? I'm debating on going with the Toyota Dash or Fitcamx for my 22 Rav4 XSE. Thank you and keep up the good videos.
Hello! I can’t speak to this with any personal experience with fitcamx but I will say I personally would not want to replace the OEM housing on the safety camera unit. OEM grade Auto plastic is designed to stand up to crazy temperatures and all the elements for years and years of use. That’s the only part I would question. What sold me on the Lexus OEM dash cam was that it’s made by Lexus for Lexus vehicles. Same for Toyota, obviously. But it depends on how much you could get it for (plus installation) versus the fitcamx
Hello! According to my invoice, the parts needed are listed below. I don’t think it’s a very popular part, my dealer had done only a few before mine and luckily learned a few things on other peoples cars. Of note, they MUST order the wiring harness too which is a different part than the camera itself or they’ll get in there and figure out they aren’t able to install it. Parts with prices I paid: 1x Dashcam PT949-76220 ($407.99) 1x Wiring harness PT949-48210 ($51.99) 4x Clips 90467-09245 ($2.99)
Lexus of Austin/Lakeway (same Penske dealer, two locations), I had mine installed at the Austin location. Ask for their parts department, they knew exactly what I was looking for and what to do with it.
It is a great video. Sadly, the product did not live up to my expectations (integration with existing cameras in the car, especially in the back), lower video quality in the night ... I will most likely go with A139 Pro instead.
Yes, unfortunately no dash cams integrate with the OEM safety system cameras; I think there are too many laws that govern privacy and video recording here in the states that most automakers don’t do more with integrated recording.
Great information. I'll be getting my NX350h soon. So, $900 total is what the dealership will charge for the oem. I just don't want a 3rd party dashcam installer to mess with the wiring and void the warranty since there is a lot of sensitive components. Is it worth it? I'm debating between oem or fitcamx where I can do it myself.
I prefer the OEM even despite the price. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Fitcamx but if im going aftermarket I personally would go with a good Garmin instead.
Kind of makes you wonder why they can't make something about the size of your thumb with a control unit the size of a phone in your glove compartment that competes with an iphone or Galaxy s24 for about $400
With car electronics you have to design for the elements. A lot of the size comes from the heat shielding and cooling that something mounted to your windshield needs. Tape your iPhone to the windshield on a hot day and see how long it takes to overheat.
Its amazing to me that so few mfs offer an integrated dashcam. Props to them for providing this as an option but sort of as i might expect so disappointing that the mf cant provide one that is up to third party ones like Viofo or Blackview. This should have been be 2k minimum..
Thanks for the vid. My 2024 Venza Limited has 4 cameras that act like 8 with the split view. To record ... in a dash cam sort-of-way, I have to buy another camera! Crying shame. It would be really great if an owner could access the video data for the cameras they already own without having to buy ANOTHER camera. Just thinking...
The primary reason for this is liability. There are many states that require two party consent to record and the vehicle manufacturers don’t want to get tied up in potential litigation should anyone sue for that. That said, I completely agree!
I bought lexus lx 600 sport and received without the dash-cam that stick in windshield front only cables extended out. can i just buy the dashcam hardware and install it ?
Wish I could have this app plus the Apple wireless car play going at the same time. I had to disconnect car play to get it up and running. If I need the images I’ll have to do the same thing or pull the card.
@@joshjamescarsdies the camera still work when you’re using CarPlay? Are you saying you just can’t look at the clips in the app if CarPlay is already connected?
That’s correct, because your phone can only connect to one Wi-Fi network at a time and CarPlay uses the same Wi-Fi connection the camera does, so this is actually the case with any Wi-Fi enabled dash cam. That said, the app is garbage and I only ever view clips by taking the SD card and hooking it up to the computer.
Fantastic video. I decided to get one of these for my NX350h and it only cost $560 to install at the dealer! Do you know if there is a way to turn off the beeping sound from the dashcam when starting the car?
@@joshjamescars Yea I was surprised how much it varied. You were absolutely right in your video. A local dealership quoted $150/hr for labor, which totaled about $900. The other dealer we decided to go said it was only $50/hr because it's an accessory. Your video informed me to shop around for dealerships for the install - Thanks! Ah, that's a bummer, I guess I just have to get used to the beep at power on...
I think Nextbase 622GW gives same value for cheaper price. So I would suggest anyone who want to install a dashcam to try reviewing the Nextbase product first b4 bringing out such huge money of around a $1k for this
Great suggestion, though as I stated in the video, the value here that aftermarket can’t match is that it’s fully integrated into the vehicle’s wiring and made by the OEM. To your point, however, it’s not worth it for everyone or anyone on a budget.
Got the Ring car cam and I am not impressed other than the real time viewing and notifications but at a cost of $6/mo. Nothing compare to the Tesla camera system which is what I want.
Agreed. I hope Ring comes out with a better second gen product so I can get one for my 4Runner! Tesla’s system is great although Sentry Mode is known to drain the battery and that wouldn’t be feasible on an ICE car. Hopefully someone comes up with something soon!
It’s not bad, it’s just that there are dashcams that are 2K that can capture license plates at a distance and not blow out the highlights in bright sunlight. But like you, I think it’s fine for what I was looking for!
Too bad it doesn't provide an interior view. Rideshare drivers would probably buy it in droves. For content creators as well... cameras should be standard equipment IMHO
It can be between $600 and $1,000 total; the part I think is around $400 plus a wiring harness and a few hours of labor to that. The best thing to do is contact your dealer to get accurate pricing because it’s all over the board depending on how much they mark up pricing and labor. It’s not that I don’t want to give you a price, but it really does vary. Time wise, it can also be anywhere between 2 and 4 hours depending on how skilled the tech is and whether they’ve done one before. At my dealer, I specifically asked for someone who’d done them before. If that’s a master tech, your labor cost could shoot up. Also, if you’re buying a new vehicle, you might be able to negotiate the price down or negotiate labor be comped. Again though, totally dealer dependent.
Perhaps you can review the new Toyota Genuine Dash Camera Series 2.0? Any idea of the maximum SD size for Toyota/Lexus dash cams. They come with only 16GB which is too small.
How interesting! I didn’t know they had released a new one. I’ve since sold this NX, but that actually looks really great. I’ve been super happy with my Garmin dash cams but the rear cam here is fascinating. Let me see what I can do. As for SD cards, I ran a 128GB in mine and it was fine.
That’s just the part, not including installation. Sometimes you can negotiate when buying a new car that they comp installation because you’re buying a car from them, but other times they make you pay for that and it could be up to 3 hours at $150-$200/hour. Also, I believe the GX uses the older OEM dashcam, not this version.
VERY good video. Cleared up a lot of things for me. I do have a question - HAS to be me - but I read where the dash cam automatically comes on and starts recording when the car is started. What then is the purpose of the "ON" button?
Hello! Great question. Imagine that for whatever reason, you want to connect to the dash cam but you don’t want to turn the car on. You can simply press that button and it’ll power up the camera. IMO, the only thing you’ll ever want to use the app for is to control settings because wireless file transfer is slow as all can be. I will also say I’ve been using these two Garmin dash cams in our new cars and really like them, and don’t really think the OEM toyota one is worth the money. Video on the Garmins here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f9u2iMfBUew.htmlsi=9iFwjRogIxXq4uXr
hi great video. i’ve been looking into the Nx. may i ask how much you got the car for? i don’t want to be taken advantage at the dealership since i’m a girl lol
Hello! Unfortunately right now there’s no negotiation happening since supply is so short (it’s a 4-8 month wait for an NX hybrid), so you’ll be paying MSRP if you want one. I would not pay anything more than that. So you put down a $1-2K deposit, wait, then when the dealer calls ask for a document called the “vehicle build sheet” which is a PDF that starts with “vspec…” and it’ll show you everything that’s on the car and Lexus’ retail price for it. And then it’s up to you if you want to pay for additional warranties and or tire/wheel protection, etc.!

HI Jeff, I am looking at the Toyota RAV4 XSE and I see this as an option. It doesn't clarify at the $375 dollar price range whether I have to install it myself or they do the installation. There is another dash cam they show for $550 and they clearly say, "Not including installation." Can you clarify whether it comes installed or not? Thank you so much and enjoyed the video.
Hi there. My dad’s name is Jeff, funny enough. It all depends on whether the dealer is willing to install it for you or if they want to charge you for it. Some cars come with it pre-installed by the regional Toyota distributor as well.
Contacting your dealer is the best way to go as they’ll have to confirm compatibility with your car, order the part, and quote you pricing too. I’ve heard availability in Canada is spotty/iffy too so if you’re outside of the US it might be a totally different story.
Hello! This does not work for the GX, as it’s older. I do have a camera in my GX and you can check out what that is in my Garmin video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f9u2iMfBUew.htmlsi=js0NpqpHqnj9aVMV
Hello! It can record sound as well and you can choose whether it does or not in settings. It is important to note that in some jurisdictions it’s illegal to record audio without other parties’ consent and likewise, in some jurisdictions your unedited dash cam footage can be subpoenaed so know the laws and do what you feel is best whether that is in accordance with them or not ;)
Ah thank you, you’re right. And yes, I was only asking because I just got the Lexus Dash Cam installed and didn’t hear any sound. I was just curious. Maybe I have the setting off? I will double check. But thank you for the quick response.
Nope it’s about right. $375 for the camera plus an hour or two of shop labor at $150/hour.

Josh, I saw your video on the 2 year review of the RAV4 Prime. What dashcam are you using for that? The Toyota site says this OEM may fit the 2023 RAV4 Prime, not definitive. Also, I like the Lexus style better without that bold red record button. Will that fit Toyota cars?
Hello! In all three of our cars we have one of these Garmin dash cams and I highly recommend them. I personally wouldn’t do the Lexus/Toyota dash cam again, especially if you already own the vehicle because you’ll have to buy the part at retail and pay for installation. Thanks Josh! It’s rather big looking. Have you looked at the BlackVue? Toyota Series 2 looks identical to it and on Toyota’s site for the manual it takes you to the BlackVue site.
Yooo I thought I noticed those road! I'm over here in Leander trying to get my wife's dash cam to record but no luck. She's been driving it for a month now and there's nothing on the SD card.
@joshjamescars like a goofball I swapped out the SD card that came with the vehicle and put a new one in. Was too lazy to insert original SD into laptop so decided to put back into dash cam and view through the app. Took about 10 minutes, but everything was there. Appreciate the advice though.
That’s a great question that I don’t know the answer to! There is some documentation on the Lexus owner’s site page for the dashcam that I haven’t read. 😂
I don’t have anything against them but they keep pestering me to do a sponsored review of them (in broken English) which makes me leery just because it makes me think most of their reviews are paid for. My personal preference is to stick to name brands like Nexar and Garmin.
Just ran into your video..I,have a new 2024 RX coming to the dealership in 5 days. The window sticker shows dash cam on it. Will this already be installed in your opinion..the price shown is a laughable $25..the team leader at my dealership doesn’t know anything about it.
I am seeing a couple of different part numbers for this dash cam: PT94976220; PT94976220AA; PT94976221. Can you possibly tell me which one I need for my 2023 RX 350h Premium Plus. I don't know if they are the same or if one is a newer version, but I sure would like to know before committing to buying one and then possibly having to return it.
Hello! Contact your dealer’s parts department and have them confirm that for you. There’s no way to figure that out externally to my knowledge. They’ll also be able to tell you which wiring harness you’ll need for your RX.
@@joshjamescars Thanks! I just see so many different part numbers and a lot of the parts places on line don't even recognize my VIN, so it was confusing.
I have a 2024 Grand Highlander and the dash cam will not show the Live View. I understand it is not recording in this mode, but I would like to see if any adjustments to the camera settings are needed. Any suggestions?
There isn’t enough information here to really know what the issue is but I would take it back to your dealer since it’s a brand new car and see if they can help figure it out.
There’s also a wiring harness required for some models, installation I think is relatively easy though given how close it is to the safety gear I personally didn’t feel comfortable doing that myself.
Is it good to capture license plates of moving vehicles? In sunlight ? Night with headlights on? HDR helps if any? I am in the market for one of these. Thanks
The footage appears as you see it in the video, you can draw your own conclusions. I have since sold this car and more recently we’ve been using dash cams from Garmin and have a video on those on the channel. You might want to look into a 4K dash cam although they are mostly available only from off brand manufacturers.
Check out my Garmin Dashcam video, this is what we have in all theee of our cars at the moment and I’m VERY happy with them: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f9u2iMfBUew.html
It has a sensor that detects when the car is bumped and will automatically start recording even when the car is parked and turned off but not constantly so it won’t kill your battery
Great question, not entirely sure. I used the app all of one time to do initial setup but with this and other dash cams I’ve only ever pulled footage off of an SD card when I’ve wanted to use it for something. Never really used live view.
@@joshjamescarsahh, it doesn’t make sense you can only view it in the car, but I just wanted to see how it looks. Also, I couldn’t view the recorded unless I downloaded it. Is that with you too?
Yep! Everything you’re saying is right, and I think you’re maybe misunderstanding the point of a dash cam. All dash cams work exactly the same way that this one does. They’re not meant to be like a Ring home security camera, it’s solely to have a record of what happens while you’re driving in the event of an accident.
No, for that you’d need a cellular data network connected Dashcam like the Garmin Dashcam Live or the Ring dash cam. They both also require a monthly subscription price for the data plan.
I can view the images just by putting the micro sd card in my computer but the manual said " PC Companion Tool Available for Windows and Mac PCs, the companion tool lets you review detailed GPS and G-force information alongside your video." I tied to get this but could not get it to download. Not sure this is any different from what I see now. Has anyone downloaded this tool and if so how did you do that?
Can you define how long the duration of the clips are? Looks like they are 2 minutes? Also, is there a lag between when one clip ends a recording and one starts recording? I wouldn't want to miss an event like a crash on the freeway it it happened to occur between when one ends and one starts recording. I suppose I could quickly hit the action button but could forget.
In practical terms, how sensitive is the park mode before it kicks on? For example, does the slight movement of washing your windshield activate it? Does it activate if someone just walks in front of the car?@@joshjamescars
Just got my GH 2024 a month, and i have a hard time on how to make it work 😢. I dont know the dash cam password. I did try 1234567890 , but it saying that my pw is incorrect or couldn't connect. Any tip or help? Please help. 🙏 thank you.
I personally like that it’s not, I don’t want myself and the inside of the vehicle being recorded. I think that’s useful for ride share or taxi drivers but I want more privacy on the inside of the vehicle.
Can please someone explain how to ser the camera?because my camera is beeping, the 3 lights on and i can’t set up with the app,is connect for 2 minutes and disconnect when i turn off the car and start beeping, someone can help me please, thank you
That likely means it is missing an SD card, in which case it won’t work. There’s a link to the manual for the camera in the description of the video and in it you’ll be able to find instructions on how to insert an SD card, etc. If that doesn’t work, take it to your Toyota dealer.
Don’t pull! The SD card slides out SIDEWAYS on a track in the clip. There should be an arrow on the clip showing you which way to remove and insert it back.
$375 MSRP but that doesn’t include installation which is best done by a dealer as part of the headliner and safety equipment cover has to be removed. We’ve since gotten rid of the NX and for our new GX, I just went with a good Garmin cam.
