My god pls. We are used to that speed in germany even if it rains. The faster you go the more stable is the car. Just be gentle with the steering wheel (slight movements) and don't buy bad tires. This rain isn't even really heavy.

Gus TV Well first of all... you can’t refuel your car at home like with an electric car which is a pain, hydrogen is also expensive like gas, there are very few hydrogen stations, charging is getting faster as time goes by and eventually with reach filling up speeds, electric cars are faster than fuel cell... And EVs have superior range with super big batteries unlike if you stick a reliable fuel cell or engine in the car

The refilling at home is a negative for hydrogen yes. But hydrogen is easily obtained through hydrolysis next to a wind turbine. There are few hydrogen stations just like there used to be few electric charging stations, and like there were few gas stations. Charging will never get anywhere near to filling speed because otherwise the current will be so high the wires will melt. Electric cars are faster but as hydrogen fuel cells evolve they will get faster anyways. EVs do not have superior range; this hydrogen car has more range than a fully specced Tesla Model S and doesn't have to push an enormous heavy battery around, it can just have a bigger hydrogen fuel tank at no disadvantage to performance. Hydrogen is still a winner and it is so new so as the technology progresses it will overtake EVs.

Gus TV But you can’t charge it using solar panels can you? I have never seen a hydrogen station either. I’ve seen many charging stations. And I think when I said it has superior range was seriously badly worded. Lower end batteries do have inferior range to hydrogen. But batteries are getting cheaper very quickly. Soon, 200 kWh batteries will become viable. A battery like that can give you 600 miles of range! That’s something hydrogen can’t do and won’t do unless you stick a very expensive engine inside it. (Way more expensive) And about the heavy battery, THAT MAKES IT SAFER. That means your roll over chance is a lot lower than an average car. Plus, you can add extra storage in the front which can also act as a crumple zone increasing safety even more. And electric cars have instant torque, so it’s still faster even if it has to carry a heavy battery. Doesn’t destroy the driving experience or anything. And of coarse the wires are going to melt in today’s technology. It’s not happening in today’s world. But as technology gets better, it will start supporting more Amps and Watts. It will eventually get to the point where you can charge in 5 minutes without melting the wires. But that, of coarse, is in the future. I’m not finished. EVs are also more reliable because they only have a battery and 2 motors making it AWD. Unlike those complex engines and transmissions. And fuel cells add extra steps to everything making it also less reliable. And I’m not looking forward to laying $50 every week for refueling and waiting in a line when I can just do it at home during the night for much cheaper... and good luck buying a hydrogen car now, because I’m sure you are going to struggle trying to find a fill up station for it

I have found Mirai on toyota.ch, so I would expect they sell them in CH already. The price starts at 89900 CHF, but unfortunately there are only few hydrogen stations in CH (AFAIK 3), so again chicken-egg problem. In this case is the problem price too and the space (only 4 places and small volume of package space). I would like to have Mirai, I like the idea of hydrogen. I like the EVs too, but the charging times are very high (solution could be battery replacement instead charging) and short distance (I need to go more than 600km). As someone in other discussion writes, maybe in the future it will be possible to charge with higher current, then it will be maybe possible to use the energy of lightning/thunderbolt too:-) That would be great!:-)

Yes, I am aware of aquaplaning. It wasn't as wet as it seems in video and that piece of Autobahn is fairly new and tilted. Also this Mirai has brand new tires with a lot of tread left. ;)

hydrogen is the only right variant for future. No other variant ! But we are developing approach, which is not exact now. There must be 2 waves for hydrogen : 1/BUILD HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FACTORIES ON SITES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY STATIONS. 2/ SMALL CARS NEED TO LOAD HYDROGEN BY EXCHANGING WHOLE COMPRESSED HYDROGEN BALLOONS. We are wrong because we do not firstly build enough hydrogen production factories on sites of renewable energy stations. We are wrong because we are trying to build network of hydrogen loading stations, which are COMPLEX AND EXPENSIVE. We must change our approach. We should use hydrogen as energy storage method for renewable energy stations first. Then we should load hydrogen for usual cars by exchanging whole standard sized compressed hydrogen gas balloons. So It is very simple and not expensive to make the global net of hydrogen supplying stations. Any normal mini shops can be a hydrogen supplying point by storing standard sized compressed hydrogen gas balloons. We do not have to use liquid hydrogen, which is difficult to collect. But we can use compressed hydrogen gas, which is not so much different in weight by comparison with liquid hydrogen. Hydrogen is the best solution of energy storage for all energy stations now, for example, for nuclear energy stations, for renewable energy stations. Just install ready hydrogen production modules, and install independent hydrogen fuel cell modules in adjacent areas. Use compressed hydrogen gas at first time instead of liquid hydrogen. And the last thing to notice is that, hydrogen is not more dangerous than other gases and petrol. Hydrogen has big energy storage capacity, but when burning hydrogen in accidents, IT DOES NOT CREATE ACOUSTIC DESTRUCTING WAVE TO ENVIRONMENTS. It means that hydrogen burning is less destructive than gasoline burning.

@@kubanskiloewe Hydrogen refueling vs charging tesla is a big question here. Hydrogen is the future. We do not have enough Lithium to replace ICE. Electric cars are going to co-exists with ICE in future, but the real replacement will be H2 for sure.

People are getting confused. A Tesla, I3 and leaf are a battery electric cars. This Toyota is still an electric cars, its just a Hydrogen electric car. All the hydrogen is, is another form of energy storage. Much more efficient and environmentally friendly than lithium cobalt batteries. Hydrogen has always been and industry preference and I can see why.

Hydrogen , Petrol , (maybe) Diesel are all three going to co-exist while Electric cars probably won‘t. If Hydrogen cars beginn to advance fast and become faster and cheaper and at the same Niveau in terms of performance , cost of production and acceleration like a petrol (The Toyota Mirai is now around 60k-80k$ , it’s insanely expensive for a car with 150hp and a top speed of 170-180 km/h) , I can see that Tesla would be going out of business in 40-60 years or maybe Tesla would have to switch their entire lineup to Hydrogen.

I wish hydrogen fuel cell cars were more readily available throughout the UK. Their are only about 3 hydrogen models available here and most hydrogen fuel filling stations are in the south east of England. I would like to see some of these car manufacturers offer a service to convert a petrol or diesel engined car to a hydrogen fuel celled car. That might be more cost effective compared to manufacturing an entire new car. This would help drive the demand for hydrogen which would then eventually drive demand for brand new cars to be hydrogen fuel celled cars. Hydrogen fuel would have to be made more readily available throughout the UK as the demand increases. I for one would love to own a hydrogen fuel celled car and I would be happy to recommend anybody to have one.

Der tank ist Beschußfest vontoyota getestet aber was mir immer Sorgen macht sind dann die Anschlüße und LEitungen ;-) Mal sehen wenn Lexus einen bringen würde als SUV Nachfolger für den NiMH Hybriden wäre ganz ok finde ich......E-Car mit Lithium das von Kindern ausgegraben wird kommt mir nicht in Frage

Leute ihr habt en Knall mit 180 über Regennasse Fahrbahn !! Ehrlich ....ich habe jetzt 30 Jahre Fahrerei auf´m Buclkel in vielen Fahrzeugen und kann euch nur warnen ....laßt diesen Unsinn !!!
