Get an air filter with a narrower diameter than i did. Most of these universal pod filters like mine are too chubby at the base at around 150mm diameter. I have seen some more on amazon around 120mm base diameter that would get much closer down the side scoop
Oh My God, the air coming in over there is cooler in the video. I'm doing RU-vid with the same vehicle. I cleaned the intake this time, but I have to place an air intake over there.
Could you make a video of the induction sound while driving? Im thinking of doing this myself to get glorious suck noises but i wonder if it will really sound as i expect it will. Thanks in advance!
While I appreciate the effort that went in to video, I think it would be more useful if you had also included any 0-60 etc measurements that would show the effect. Also, you've lost some of the ability of the system to deal with rain, there's a pretty straight route now for water to get in. Still, good content and I hope it works well for you.
Sam Firth I don’t think an air filter will affect a 0-60 time in any measurable way as the difference will be so small, and I think it’s pretty safe away from rain. Maybe slightly more susceptible to driving through a huge great big puddle, but still think it’s unlikely to get particularly wet in there.
Hi, good video, just wondering did you did have to splice the MAF sensor wires ? I have acquired a lotus Air intake which should be a direct replacement for the sensor just wondering about the length of the wires.
Hi, I’ve just done this mod following your video. My car now seems like it is starving itself so cuts out on idle. And when revving it halts at 3,500 revs for a second before revving normally. Did you have any problems like this? Cheers
All bought from generic ebay searches. 76mm silicone pipe and 76mm aluminium pipe gets lots of hits. The extending pipe is a little harder but this is it: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185520811327?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Hm_1UKr8SjS&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=kIqTovnTRBm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
