I repaired the soft top of my mr2 zzw30 in the following way: I took a fabric for inflatable boats, glued a patch on the inside, and then sewed a nylon thread along the edge of the gap. The patches on the outside look like a rustic renovation...
Yes but that happens anyway, there are big drains under the sides where the gaps have formed to collect and channel the water away (you will see them in my drain cleaning video)
How sticky is that tape when it's just stuck straight on the roof? For example on the stab hole at the top does it seem pretty solid or do you think it won't last long? Great video, thank you 😊
Its been about 30 days and its fine so far. It seems as sticky as duct tape on application but is supposed to cure, unlike duct tape. Personally I am not convinced it will hold an entire year so intend to top up the patches with “stormsure” when the edges come loose
@@andrewsparey697 yeah things struggle to stick to the roof. Was meant to get a new one but covid put a stop to that! Going to try some fixes to tide me over another year or two lol your videos have been helpful and inspiring, thank you.
It held for about a year. 12 months on it is hanging on but is getting quite shabby. For the sake of £20 or so it has helped the roof limp through another year but it badly needs replacement
