Yes ... if you are in the UK. I believe that the app enables whatever functions are available with your car. Then a few months later I got a notification on my phone telling me that I MUST install a new app called "Toyota MyT". I thought that Toyota would have a single app that is used globally by all Toyotas. Unfortunately this does not appear to be the case .... based on my own experience and comments from viewers: "MyToyota" is the correct app for UK spec Toyota's Please let me know if this is different to your own experience as I want to make sure I am giving the correct information in my videos.
Are there different features on the MyToyota app if the car presents the new Smart Connect infotainment system? I would say remote start, cool or cold down the car and find the current car location, right?
Unfortunately I only know what the MyT looks like with my car which is a Yaris Excel with the Tech pack (2022 UK spec). My best guess is that the MyT app will be able to show all the features that are available for whatever model of Toyota it connects to in any country. In the old app I was only told if the car was locked or unlocked. However, the new app also tells me if the windows have been left open. However, I have not tested yet to see if this new feature works correctly. The UK climate is obviously different to your climate ... I am more interested in warming the car up and you are more interested in cooling the car down!!! The Find my car function in the new app does not link to Google maps so you can't get walking directions back to your car. You just get your location and your car's location on a map ... so you can still find your way back to your car ... but Google Maps walking directions are in my experience better. I am working on a video that will compare the old and new MyT apps. I will post the link to the video in this discussion when it is finished.
Can anyone help just picked my new yaris excel and finally got it connected buy doesn't update and lock and clinate control don't work ? Toyota are useless
In the MyT app tap "My Garage" at the top of the screen. In the "Connected Services Centre" it should say 3 are active. If it doesn't say 3 then tap and follow the instructions to activate all the services. Another possibility is that on the car's multimedia system you are logged in as a Guest. Tap on "MyT Services" and if your profile is named "Guest" then since your car is new you will probably need to create a new profile for yourself ... this involves a QR code that you need to scan with the MyT app. This video shows the process on my multimedia screen. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v3GuF-ysoWE.html Let me know if this helps to get your car connected.
@Horses-n-HelpfulStuff thanks for getting back to me got the car connected and showing there all active...but the app isn't updating still only showing Sundays info ie mileage and basically everything else not working...its like the info from car isn't being sent to app (if that makes sense )
If the problem seems to be that the info is not being sent by your car then it could be the "Privacy" setting in your car. The manual says "Privacy mode settings allows to disable any sharing of personal data. Some functions might be unavailable when privacy mode is enabled". This sounds like your situation. In your car on the multimedia screen tap MY T SERVICES then PROFILE then tap PRIVACY. Check that PRIVACY is DISABLED. Unfortunately if you want the MyT app to fully work then you must disable privacy. It is slightly scary because it means Toyota servers know exactly where your car is and how you are driving. The Hybrid Coaching will show your exact route and even criticise your driving if you accelerate too quickly at a roundabout or when a speed limit changes!!! I have decided I am happy with the lack of privacy in order to get all the functionality. Cross fingers :)
Checked that privacy disabled,it’s really bizarre they told me Monday that there is a known fault but clearly there isn’t yours is working so god knows
