Toyota MyT app: New (2023 UK only) app review & comparison with old app 

I have done another video which explains how to update to the new MyT app. It is not an update to the existing app on your phone ... it is a new app that you need to install. The video explains how to find the new app on Google's Play store. If you have got an iPhone then I guess it will be similar. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U-YrvCmuvKI.html I think this new app is only required if you have Toyota's Smart Connect Multimedia system (shown in the video). I got a notification telling me that I must upgrade. I have no idea what happens if you install the new MyT app and have a different multimedia system so I suggest you only install the new app if you have the Smart Connect Multimedia system or have received a notification on your phone telling you to upgrade.

@@Helpful-Stuff my cars yaris style plus which i recived it 5 days ago , and the point is for the app store of iphone u can neeber have 2 simular apps as apple dont give the permission so I checked and the app is not available, the update of the current app also was last month but it was just minor bug fixes and no major re design or … 🥲

Thanks for the information. I have changed the title of the video. I have just checked on Google Play store... there are two versions of the MyT app ... one with 1million+ downloads and the other version with 10,000+ downloads. Toyota are going to make the situation very confusing for customers if there are multiple versions of MyT and you need to download the correct version of MyT depending on your make & model of Toyota and the country where you purchased the car. I was simply following the instructions in a notification on my phone. Some UK owners with the same make & model as me will have ignored the notification & will still be using the old app. And from what you say if I owned an Apple phone then there is only one version of MyT. It's all very confusing!!!

I agree. The export functionality in the old MyT app was really useful. In a comment on one of my videos somebody said that they were successfully running BOTH the old MyT app and the new MyToyota app on a phone. I have not tried this because I think there is a risk that running both apps at the same time will break something and I may end up with neither app working on my phone 😯If you do try this ... it's at your own risk!!!

@@Helpful-Stuff I tried to run both but it just forced me to update. My car is a 73 plate so this may be why I cannot use both apps . I still login on my desktop pc but as I said it's now totally useless .

I thought that might happen! I guess if you delete both apps and then re-install the new MyToyota app ... this will get you working again 🤞
