Yeah, that works. You know what also works? Some Dawn dish washing liquid (or similar) mixed with water and an old toothbrush. It’s what strips your wax off the paint, requiring you to re-apply it every 6 months (car washes) and it works if you do it yourself.
@@afcgeo882 probably depends on the type of wax. mine was part nufinish polish and part carnuba paste. the soapy water took it down to about half but after that the only thing that worked was an eraser.
I have a Rav4 as well, and I have noticed that after taking my car to the car wash I have streaks going down all around the trim and bumper. Do you think Mother's Back to Black will work on that? I would assume the car wash place uses harsh chemicals and perhaps it's bleach . I have no idea!
That stuff is probably expensive. What about Windex? The ammonia in it might work to remove the wax. Alternatively, mix 1/2 to 1 cup of ammonia and 1 cup of laundry detergent with 1 gallon of warm water in a bucket. That's how they strip the wax off of linoleum floors. I'd try it in an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it doesn't adversely affect the black plastic. Anybody have experience using ammonia this way?
