Had a flat battery or had to disconnect your battery on a modern Toyota? You’d almost guarantee to have this problem after reconnecting or even jump starting. “Rear Camera Detection Unavailable “!
With all of the sensitive electronics in new cars, plenty of them will have some sort of nigly issues in such situations. This is a quick video to show you specifically on the 300 series Land Cruiser Sahara but I know works on other models like the Camry and Rav4. It’s pretty simple to do, takes only a minute and your back on the road with fully functioning system.
As with every programmable feature, please be aware there is other functions in the menu that if altered, can cause a lot of problems.

GRT video mate. Worked on my GR Sport. As I was getting a flat battery a lot. Have to carry a lithium jump pack to make sure I can start car, RIDICULOUS. My local Battery shop suggested Always totally locking car whenever you get out of it. Even in your own secure garage. As this turns off all electrics etc.. That seems to have worked, but now and then I still need jump pack. The car is always communicating to internet as you can see where it is on App. So there must be some computer always working. If you have any other ideas how to stop battery drain please let me know. ?? ps. local Toyota dealer have no idea!! LOL

@@normancooke1589 100%, it’s taken everything I have not to post a video of their incompetence. They did a battery drain test and told me there was a drain of .04Amps. I did it and got 4.7A. When you go near the car with the key, even if it’s locked, it spikes to almost 8A obviously waking up some computers. They argued it’s the dashcam and UHF I installed, dashcam been disconnected for over a month at that time to make sure and I’ve never installed a UHF in this car. Above that, the aftermarket dual battery system also causes a drain but, once again. Non existent. Apart from a dashcam and the wrap, it’s stock. My next point will be to disconnect Toyotas monitoring system. We don’t drive the car often and it’s a pain in the ass constantly charging and mucking around. I currently run a trickle charger. If your batteries going flat that bad all the time, do you want me to post a video on the other things that need to be calibrated like the mirrors and seat and windows?

@@GrantFixes It would be interesting to disconnect monitoring system?? not sure how, and see what it does. I turned off wifi yesterday, not sure it that will improve things or even what it does?? FYI I set the key so that when you walk up to the car you Must manually unlock car, then you must hold key on start button before you can start it. (might help with that 8A spike?) I did that mainly for security as even the Toyota dealer had the key and could not start car..LOL. I have never liked self opening cars anyway.. Not sure if I need to know about those other calibrations but would be interested if you do.. Thanks

Under the function check/settings, the camera setting is missing. How come??

@@samueliwuajoku2911 I’m not sure mate. You may have an issue somewhere. Could be something a Toyota technician would have to look at for you. By all means, try again, maybe even disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes to ensure everything is powered down and go through the process again. There will be other things that will require reprogramming like power seats and auto windows.

Hi I have a Toyota lc 300 zx imported from Japan but in instrument cluster I’m unable to see an option for tpms can we use a obd tool to unlock such features? Or as shown in the video can we access and customise such settings thanks in advance

@@achyutkotte6151 thanks for your question. This is a bit of a complicated one, your car would have to be setup, pre wired for it, there is also additional computers, sensors and other components required. It’s not just a mater of checking a box unfortunately. Once everything is installed, there may also be different software required for the gateway that would also require purchasing and no doubt only able to install and setup with Toyota OBD software the likes of TechStream2. Quite honestly the cost of which would make me cringe. It would be a significantly cheaper option to install an aftermarket system which would not require new wheels either. The sensors screw onto your valve as caps. The factory style sensors are installed as opposed valves drilled into the wheel from factory.

@@GrantFixesThankyou but if there’s a way that we can integrate it into the Orginal settings where I can see it in the menu would be helpful
@GrantFixes
@GrantFixes 12 дней назад
@@achyutkotte6151 that’s not an option as this is part of the dealer settings. That’s something you would have to take up with Toyota global. I’m just a guy showing you how to sort an annoying problem very common on almost all newer model Toyotas on this video. Without having hands on your particular vehicle, I couldn’t say if you could or couldn’t get it done. Best advice is ask your local dealer mate.

I have a zx and I tried that but doesn’t allow me to access that menu any other options

I occasionally have a bit of trouble getting the menu up. Start from scratch turning the car off again. Make sure you go to your low beam every time and not just parking lights. This is the process for all models with this entertainment system. Take it a little bit slower in case it’s not registering the switch. You have I believe 3 seconds to complete the sequence which doesn’t sound like much but is actually plenty of time to get it done. I did also notice if the headlights were activated (automatically on from low light levels) I couldn’t get into the menu. I hope that helps. Let me know how you go with it.
