In this video I will show you how I built the camping / sleeping platform in my 2013 Toyota Sienna AWD. This is a simple DIY style build out that anyone can do. This project took me about 4 hours to complete start to finish.
We had a child gate made of aluminum bars. It was two piece. I took it apart and used it for bed slats. It was small and need a frame. It helped lighten the bed frame. Keep an eye out for old aluminum bed frame or the kids gate and you can lighten up your kit. You can also see though the slats. 👍
That's a nice configuration! I did something similar on my minivan. The plastic panel at the back of the tub section of your minivan, where the rear door closes, can be pried off. And then you can screw in brackets to support 2x4's, if you don't want to depend on milk crates for support. But I like the simplicity!
@@caseman4669 I forgot to mention that if you pry off the plastic panel, then you will see some threaded holes, which makes it easy to attach a bracket. (At least this is the case on my 2007 sienna minivan.)
