Buy mine and you won’t have to modify the headlight 😉. I’m getting the itch to build another car.

My initial thoughts: not separating the headlight? Guy is nuts. My final thoughts: this came out fantastic!! I will be mimicking this style

Would it be a good idea to directly connect the tube to the turbo/procharger ?
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 3 года назад
In a perfect world yes. That would be the best ram air. Where I live we have dirty driving conditions and to many rocks, loose gravel, dust / dirt to run no air filter. Track days a lot of guys do it though

I’ve heard people say the VVTI engine is not good for big power? And the non vvti is stronger? Is this true? Does non vvti have stronger pistons etc?
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 2 года назад
That’s not really true at all on the 2jzgte vvti. Depends what you think big power is. VVTI engines are better in my opinion. They are still good to 1000hp and are way more responsive ( hit boost at least 500rpm sooner ). My car has hit 30psi all day long for years and years of abuse on stock bottom end and valve train with zero issues. Tuners just don’t like them because they are much harder to tune. Now a days you see lots of guys adding variable valve timing to the older engines because the drivability is just so much better. Lots of guys swapping the complete 2jzgte vvti engines in lots of the older years too! If they are going to all that work that tells you how good they are 👌

You can also improve the look of the headlight’s glass by using chloroform i ve seen people doing it and it was nearly like its brand new

Might depend on where you live. I haven’t had any issues yet

Did you just use a drill bit all-around and then pulled out the plastic during the first cut?
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 3 года назад
Yes I did but using a carbide style bit. They chew a little faster.

@@JT2JZ Thank you! Been wanting to do this on my old OEM headlights. Your video has by far been the most detailed and most entertaining video

Thanks for the kind words. My advice is just take it slow making lots of small cuts and you should be ok. I was nervous about my light holding up at higher speeds and rough roads but it’s been great so far! Definitely helps keeping the intake air temps down on turboed cars running high boost levels. Good luck man.

What temp differences did you end up seeing?

I haven’t data logged it yet. Shortly after this mod my rear diff failed and I’m still waiting for parts unfortunately. My parts have been on back order since Nov of last year.

Great idea what glue u use
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 2 года назад
I used mostly silicone. A small amount of super glue on the back side of the headlamp. It’s still holding strong many years later. Lots of high speed racing and no issues.

Thanks brotha. I was happy with how it turned out and it definitely helps keeping intake air temps down!

Where did you get your cold air intake
@JT2JZ
@JT2JZ 3 года назад
It’s just generic 4 inch aluminum intercooler pipe that I cut and welded into shape. I heat wrapped it because it got so hot I couldn’t even touch the pipe without burning myself. Just trying to keep intake air temps as low as possible. 2jzs run hot!
