Like the impossible to find mount option on the 3rd gen taco! In your opinion, would this be a possible mount option for a dune flag whip mount(with minor mod of course)?
So for the 21+ Tacoma, it looks like this would need to go between the hinge and the hood. That hinge system was changed. This will raise the hood on one side. That no bueno. Any options?
Just an FYI, not sure what NMO mount he used in the video, I had to enlarge the mounting hole for mine. I used a Larsen NMO solder on connector. Was a pain in the butt,it was worth it. Might consider offering different size mounting holes?
You should have film u opening the hood with a decent size antenna fitted, I like the mount but assume a heavy duty antenna would hit the windscreen? that’s probably the reason u only used that tiny antenna for demo.
@@mattr2 You could drill it if you wanted to yes. You would need a 90-degree connector for clearance for your coax. Take a look at the Firestik 2-Piece FireRing cable.
With that current length antenna can you lift the hood up without interfering with the windshield? What about the nmo mount? Does it hit the wiper of windshield?
@@Victory4x4 One last question for you. People are telling me that this is going to raise the hood on one side. What are your thoughts on that? I wonder if ppl are installing it between the hood and the hinge and not like you did it.. Bolts then bracket then hinge then hood. Your hood looks the same height after install. I just really wanna make sure I am not going to run into that issue
