Hyryder is not a rebranded grand vitara the grand vitara and hyryder are based on Suzuki’s C platform but there hybrid powertrain is supplied by Toyota
Toyota sells the washed down version of Yaris Sedan in Thailand + Philipines 1.3L MT or the complete 7 airbags + ADAS + Lane Departure Alert + Blind Spot Monitor + Auto Headlamps 1.5L Engine in Malaysia & Singapore. This is the base version for Toyota in this countries. I am sure Yaris hatchback 1.3L will sell well in India atleast.
Smaller names are always given for more premium and full home developed models that a company likes to associate itself with and that are popular over the time, like Camry, Prius, rav4, chr. New models will have longer names so as to make it clear that it is an affiliated product made for a global brand by another smaller co. and is far from comparison from global classic models, when a nation emerges to a higher economy range or when there is up shift in affordability of general public a taisor is replaced by chr or corolla cross
They are trying to create a brand image for cross over SUV just like they have done with Land Cruiser SO premium SUV is land cruiser Cross over SUV is Urban cruiser
With Maruti engine in their car Are the mechanic guys in Toyota have experience for servicing their car? I have heard many users saying Original Toyota cars are given first priority over the Maruti one
Blame the taxes the Govt imposes on Toyota. They decided not to scale up their manufacturing which means they are limited on what they can offer. And besides, I don't think most Indians can afford the Toyota Camry or the Tacoma that are sold abroad.
@@keygenful Yes but most of Toyota's vehicles cost more than 30 lakh rupees which attracts heavy taxes in the Indian market. So we are stuck with Suzuki cars rebadged as Toyota vehicles.

That gearbox is a complete put off!!! Ur like revving to 6k with a big smile nd then it shifts nd the revs completely die down, its too slow to shift!!! Same with downshifts, u approaching a corner nd jus can't get a lower gear quick enough. It completely takes way from that racy feeling. Engine is a gem though. Recently test drove a turbo kiger, the cvt on that is much much more fun.

Now, I want to purchase a hybrid four wheeler. I would be travelling 60 kms in city teaffic per day. Wish to move to a hybrid car/SUV but dont like Vitara or Hyryder. Another Hybrid City would be too boring. Can someons suggest me what I should opt for in automatic transmission hybrid car/SUV segment. My budget is 25-28 lakhs. I am also fine to drive a sedan or SUV petrol automatic provided it gives me 15-16 kmpl in heavy traffic of city. I need a high end car/SUV, around 25-28 Lakhs, mostly driven by driver. A recliner seat at the back would be a delight.
Yes. Toyota mostly only makes engines for larger vehicles. Making engines for smaller vehicles are a specialty for Suzuki. Toyota makes the engine for the Grand Vitara strong hybrid tho.
The extra seats in the back are only suitable for children & seems very unsafe; I checked the car in the showroom recently. C3 also got a 0 star Latin NCAP safety rating.

Sunroof is must for this car to do well? Fronx is the fastest car to cross 1 lakh sales in India and past few months it is consistently selling over 14k units, and it doesnt have a sunroof.

Ajkal ye chal kya raha hai automobile industry me, companies pagal ho gayi hai ek hi design do brand se bech rha hai same design bas copy paste kar ke car bech rhi hai toyota ka khud ka kuch design bacha nahi hai lagta hai. VW to fir bhi thoda design change kar ke slavia or virtus sell kar rhi hai, but maruti or toyota bas same car bana rhi hai last me logo change kr de rhi hai. This is nonsense marketing, no one should waste their hard earned money
