IMPORTANT: Do note that if this repeater doesn't detect 5GHz signal from your router, you have to set the 5GHz channel on the router you want to extend to either 36, 40, 44, or 48. On auto, repeater won't detect 5GHz signal. This is also the case with more expensive TP Link repeaters. Also note that towards the end of the video I implied that you can use two TP Link routers to create a mesh network, but that is actually not possible and Onemesh only works if you use a range extender with a Onemesh supporting router. Really stupid, but that's how it is.

I said 'if the extender doesn't detect it', maybe in your auto settings it's already on one of these channels, I've faced this issue, and someone in comments also had this issue which got fixed when he did this.

Instead of buying this repeater ,you can use your old router as repeater,it works fine!

Not in the case of these tp link routers, they don't support repeater modes.

Pretty honest review I would say. Yes, even I am not happy with its performance. 5G totally sucks, even for 2G it cant take load of multiple streaming though speed test shows decent speed. Kills the 2G to almost 1/4th speed comparing to the mother AP. Not worth for a decent sized apartment or multi floors... total waste.

We have 100 Mbps internet but the modem is in the hall. My room is at the back so there is no internet access. We got Xiaomi's Wi-Fi booster too. I have internet in my room but I can only get 10-15 Mbps. There are many ping problems in games, especially in Valorant. This Wi-Fi booster is deploying 2.4GHz. To get max speed you need to disable 2.4GHz radio so that the clients are forced to connect to 5GHz radio

Any suggestions, I have Jio Home Gateway, where I get good signal of 5ghz but 2.4 ghz is with fluctuations. Is there any extender that I can connect with its 5ghz and convert that as 2.4 ghz since some old devices are not compatible with 5Ghz, can replace all devices 😂

Be careful which version you buy, mine is V3 and did not get any firmware update since 2021. V4 is still supported. I wonder what will happen once V5 is out, I bet the support for V4 will be dropped too. :-(

OneMesh doesn't work between routers of TP Link, even in AP mode. And, OneMesh doesn't support ethernet backhaul in any case, so there will be slowness causes by WiFi.

Ordered 3 days ago using in onemesh but still getting slow speed like 15-21mbps i have 300mpbs plan, Problem in using Onemesh is it uses same ssid for 2.4 & 5ghz so showing one ssid cant tell device is connected to 2.4ghz or 5ghz

Don't use one mesh, you'll have separate SSIDs. It doesn't increase speeds anyways.

मैंने ये वाला सिंगल बैंड वाला(2.4ghz) एक्सटेंडर लिया है 1599 में, मेरे प्लान की स्पीड 60mbps है, यहां पे ये एक्सटेंडर लगाया है वहां पे तो मेरा फोन स्पीड 50mbps की ले रहा है लेकिन ये एक्सटेंडर वहीं पे और आगे 20-22mbps की स्पीड ही देता है, हां रेंज बड़ा देता है आगे।

This is the worst extender. I was getting red light signals in places which are near the router and I think its "purpose" is to have good range which is not something I got. Returned the very next day.

Yeah this is great for 40 mbps connection, make sure you configure channel on your router correctly (there must be a pinned comment).

I have just ordered today because of current discounted price at 2199INR. My main router is located at 1st floor, hopefully this extender works for my devices at ground floor. If 5Ghz band is not available then it's gonna be a waste of money. It would have been better if you had provided a detailed review in terms of range and signal quality

@@sidrahbilal3877 It does extend both 2.4/5 GHz signals. And there is a speed drop of about 30-40Mbps. The internet speed in the main router is 120-125Mbps, but in extender is 70-85Mbps.
