I have the Dlink DAP1860, AC2600 WiFi extender. This is one of the best WiFi extenders that has given me speeds around 500 - 600 Mbps in the room.

Will we get the WiFi 6 benefit and speed if we use this extender in Access Point mode? Does it support and MU-MIMO and OFDMA?

I am planning getting the TP-Link RE700X or TP-Link RE705X. Only difference i can find is "THE HIGH SPEED MODE". 1. Is there any difference other than that? 2. Does the high speed mode make a difference? If so, can you explain it to me? Thank You. EDIT: I found out that there is a TP-Link RE715X as well. Same questions about this one too.

i have re650 2 years and its very stable with perfect wifi speed. But every 2-3 months i reboot it from Tether TP software, because speed drops from 250mbits to under 100mbits (speed test). Indoor is really perfect because range is 20 meters from main wifi router to re650 and 4 fat walls (60cm each) are between them. I am interested about re700x only if the range is better. i want to wifi cover my backyard. Where i can find info about range difference between this two? thanx

If you use this WiFi extender as Wireless Bridge mode, you'll be surprised. If signal is strong enough expect 90% of the speed of the main router further away.

Hi Jiovanni. here is a copy/paste answer i gave someone else with a similar question. although i'm not talking about the re650. it should help you get an understanding of how TP is rebuilding or rebranding their RE extenders. hope it helps. thanks The RE705x versus RE715x. well there really isn't a real significant difference between the 2. other than the thing i'm going to mention, nothing that will have you feel like your making the wrong choice by getting one over the other. here are the differences: Power Consumption: Re705x @ 12.6W - RE715x @ 15.2W Dimensions ( W x D x H ): Re705x @ 97*46*158 - RE715x @ 107*40*160 Price: Re705x @ $129.99 (Best Buy) - RE715x @ $119.99 (Amazon) Release date: Re705x @ December 2019 - RE715x @ August 2022....Note: Not 100% sure on this August date. had a hard time getting that info. in my opinion, since the specs are almost identical. i would say that the only thing is the RE715x power consumption would cause it to run a little hotter, may not big a big deal at first but long term may reflect a problem. this is just my opinion and not fact. the power consumption may not be a factor at all. but me personally would stick with the RE705x even if its older and $10 more than the RE715x. Only because the power consumption and...THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE THEY USED TOO LOL. keep in mind that the RE700x has the same specs but the power consumption is less than both RE705x & RE715x @ 11.2W. so it seems that TP is taking a page out of Apple, same exact product just different look and runs a little hotter lol. over all! My RE700x has been running for a long time and i never even had to unplug it or reset. i am extremely happy with my purchase and continue to recommend it today. hope this info helps you. and don't forget to like and subscribe.

Can jou use this to make a wired mesh network? I have a tplink ax73 now, and an ax10 (as AP). I learned the hard way that I cant make a mesh between to tplink routers, so i was thinking to buy this extender to use for a mesh network with the ax73. I would like to use it in the location where the ax10 now is (wired ap).

Remember that this is a wifi extender. Meaning an extension of your current router. the modem does not factor in making a decision on this extender. question should be, if this extender will work in conjunction with your router. the answer is YES!, this extender is compatible with any router. the key factor in deciding is the setup in your home. if you have a small home then the re650 will be sufficient, but if you have a bigger home with more devices then the RE700X will be the way to go. hope this help. thanks

You circled the 2.4 and 5Ghz as being what’s extended… Does it extend wifi 6 as well?

Wifi 6 is the new technology that works with the 2.4 and 5g frequency. it just means that data is transmitted back and forth faster than wifi 5. hope that helps. thanks
