Janice won $10,000 in the Punchboard. These were the good old days when the classic models Janice, Dian, and Holly had their own personality. I find those models nowadays boring.
Fair enough. They probably would have kept the show lively for Bob and Drew but if only Bob wan't so protective of his image persona. We may have had Janice, Katheen, Diane and Holly as like TPIR Hostesses (helping the newer models and still keeping the show on step). But, thanks to Bob, we may never know. We can dream about an idea like that though.
Janice & Anitra are two of my favorite Barker’s beauties. Every often she wonders if she can play Punch A Bunch she been telling Bob about when they playing now she finally get opportunity to punch. Amazingly she punched out $10,000!! She’ll probably give to her favorite charity. Way to go, Janice!🎊🎉
My mom saw this when it first aired, and told me the same thing, and for years after Bob had to keep explaining that he doesn't know any of the prices, so he cannot help the contestants.
I couldn't agree with you more - thing is, Barker didn't like his people testifying against him in his trial against Holly, so therefore, no more Janice, and no more Kathleen! After all, Vanna White is still working on "Wheel Of Fortune", and she's in her 60's! I just wish Drew had all three of them back on to (at the least) give the audience a proper send off! Dian was the only one who said goodbye, and it was due to her relationship with Barker more than anything else!
@nextbarker Why? It won't have any eps with the older models in them - only the 'this is your life Bob Barker' years of 2003 to 2007 after Rod Roddy died, as Barker had beefs with everyone else beforehand!
@DENo1MatchGameFan she was beautiful then and in pictures I have seen of her now she is still beautiful! Lot more so than the models they have on the TPIR now!
That's what you saw in the shows after the original models, their replacements, and Rod's passing - the show was all about Barker, and nothing more (aka the 'This Is Your Life, Bob Barker' years from 2003-2007!) If he had his ego in check, and knew how to treat the other ladies, I'm sure they would have retired on their own (when they were ready), the show could have had a great send off for them, and Barker's name wouldn't be mud today in the realm of game show lawsuits!
@PedroGMan You sure got that one right, and he still things the media should his his ass today since he isn't getting the great exposure that Betty White is right now!
@tpir1972 No, that was Nikki Ziering because of sexual harassment, in fact she quit. Janice and Kathleen were both fired in 2000 because they testified on behalf of Holly's lawsuit against Bob for perjury. Big mistake that Bob fired both of those models. The only model I like now is Rachel Reynolds.
No, Nate Marroquin, she didn't; as I just mentioned to another user a moment ago, the only way Janice would have been able to win any money in a pricing game is if she and any other models on the show were, along with other celebrities, raising money for charity causes (St. Jude, Shriner's, youth sports leagues, so forth). Unfortunately, Bob never did that at any time during the 35 years that he hosted "The Price Is Right". That was left to his successor Drew Carey, who, every year since season 40, has had a celebrity week, generally during the first or second week in January, where Drew brings a celebrity on the show every day during that week. The celebrity playing along with the contestants tries to raise money for a select charity of his/her own choosing. So far, though, the most successful was rapper Snoop Dogg, who raised $72,585 for his youth football league program in January of 2012 (Airdate: January 2, 2012).
Janice was the perfect specimen of a beautiful woman! So elegant and classy all the way. She was on this show from the very first episode, and got shafted. I lost all respect for Barker after that, and never watched again. Many watched, just to see her. I also loved Anitra Ford as well. Those models on he show today have nothing on them
@@DENo1MatchGameFan Janice and Holly both have class and what Barker did to them was unforgivable, that's why I like Tom Kennedy and even though his version of TPIR lasted a season on syndication, at least he treated Janice, Dian and Holly with class and plus, Tom Kennedy is still friends with Betty White and Barker treated Betty White like garbage, just like he did Janice and here's something else: Janice along with Rod Roddy appeared on Dick Clark's Short-Lived Game Show It Takes Two and Mr. Clark treated Janice and Rod with class Tom Kennedy and Dick Clark, 2 Game Show Hosts with Class Would ya agree?
I couldn't agree more @@tnawcwvictoria - I've always been a huge fan of both Tom and Dick! Once Barker kicks the bucket, his true character will be revealed, and it won't be a pretty one either!
I don't really know the exact date...but I know this is before October 15, 1987 because when the telecast aired, Bob dyed his hair to grey already....so this is between January to October 14, 1987....
Or... he just stopped dying it. By then it looked kind of silly with his face. He was getting older and it should have had some gray (he was 63 years old at that point). For some reason that Fall he finally decided to stop covering it.
Not to dicriminate her age or anything, but what would she do after her 60th birthday in 2002? Maybe she could've stayed as a hostess of the Beauties for the remainder of the show? Hell, the three could've been hostesses of the show even up to today with Carey
If you thought that way about Janice, you would have stopped watching the show on 12-15-00, as that was the first date that Janice and Kathleen were no longer featured - that was the last date that I watched the show myself on a regular basis, out of respect for the fired ladies, and lack of respect for Barker!
I feel the same way, which was why at the time, I started watching the judges on other TV stations when Barker was still on TPIR after he FIRED Janice and Company and even there was a lady who worked with Senior Citizens at the time in the kitchen asked me when I was working part time at a school board center asked me did I still watch TPIR and I told her that I gave up on the show after Janice and Company got fired from the show, but she defended Barker and I just walked off because she was a fan of Barker Plus, as much as I LOVE Pro Wrestling, I didn't even watch Bob Barker on WWE RAW when he hosted RAW aka The Price is RAW which was The Price is Right WWE RAW Style because Vince McMahon LOVED Bob Barker I wish Ric Flair would've hosted TPIR lol
