Roland owes you a commission. I've looked at pretty much EVERY SINGLE review of the TR-8S, but your video here convinced me to buy one. Thank you. Can't wait to get it and explore some sound designs.
I was just watching your video about the TR Editor. You showed the one morph control in the FM section. Can't wait to get to the spot in the video today and see your reaction! Massive fan of Roland (minus their customer support) They may move slow but they put out quality. I am excited to see what comes down the road with the MC 101 and 707 and TR Editor. Going to pour another cup of coffee and finish watching. Thank you for what you do.
The new fattener master FX can make the 909 kit sound more authentic, thicker in the low-mids like the original. That thing the real 909 has but no emulation has, if you know what I mean. Transient FX on the clap is a must in order to achieve this. Very nice update
Nice video! What I want from Roland is a sampler to compliment the TR-8S/ Aira range (yes, ok we’ve got the SP-404 mk2) but something more inline with TR-8S!
The FM control was very limited. Useful, and quick, but limited. The new parameter control for the FM is so helpful for designing original sounds, beyond modulating the ACB behavior - which is also limited lol. Love the 8S though. It's been the backbone of my music since I got it.
I'm a big Roland fan, infact I'd say they are without doubt my favourite electronic instrument brand, and I've been buying their instruments, and effects, since the mid 80s, but... It's a shame they couldn't find a way to implement some more useful, and coveted, effects algorithms. Roland have a superb history of classic effects, and have in recent years revived them in many of their BOSS products. It would have been nice to see some SRV, RE-201, RSS or even DEP-5 algorithms added in a stripped back format. It's still a great machine, but I must admit I haven't installed the last update yet, and probably won't bother with this one either, - if they add some more ACB sounds in the future, that will probably force my hand. I guess personally, other than using the onboard Overdrive effect and Delay, most of my processing is external anyhow, so it doesn't stop me from getting the sounds that I want, but it would just be a nice touch, to have some classic Roland effects available internally, especially considering that it is such a worthy machine, IMO. love to ALL, feel no hate
Hi E Can you tell me once I go to a blank set up and hit BD and push the instrument button it read 909 Bass 1. How do I get to the new fm drum sounds on the Tr 8s. Can you please help me
Hi thanks a lot for all your vidéos i love my tr8s and i want to use the tr editor but i don't find the way to install it .I think i need a laptop connected to internet i hope it's like the Mc editor for my mc909 and 808. I know you speak french if you want to make some tutorials (on tr8s sh01a or system 1 ) in french do it!!
glad they gave us some cool features, but i still want generic USB mode, isn't it obvious, since you could connect it with Zenbeats on your iPad? come on Roland, you can do it!!!
it would be nice to assign the master EFX knob and fader, because i'd like a compressor on the master out, but i don't want to change it, at all. i'd rather have the master knob and button control something other than the master compressor.
