My dad had a TR8 when I was a kid, I remember he looked all over trying to find it and didn't want the TR6. I'm in the Temecula area too, beautiful area.

TR8 us everything TR6 is not in terms of handling, ride, comfort, performance, horsepower but then there is absolutely nothing like the LOOK/FEEL SOUND/SMELL of TR6. Got that right Inland Empire away from urban sprawls of L.A./S.D. excellent roads another fav De Luz Rd Fallbrook to Temecula what makes my '72 www.flickr.com/photos/picsbyjulius/albums/72157633108538417

Good to see you are still rolling! We met years ago in Fall Brook at a Triumph event. Two years ago I drove my TR6 to Crested Butte Colorado in August. I over heated but the car did not. I also have a saffron yellow GT6, I remember your story of your repaint and the time it took to let the paint settle. Hope to met you again at a future Triumph event in San Diego.

Dave at it 44+yrs 394,032 miles seeking minimum 1/2 million on same TR6. Fallbrook All British Field Meet in it's hayday 500 specimens. Congrats you see why I love long distance touring the best in mine, never a question whether the TR6 can do it rather can we🤔 simply the easiest on them no shifting, clutching just several hours allowing that cast iron engine to get, hot enough, long enough to blow out stop & go carbon. Will be on the lookout, San Diego Rolling British Car Day or All British Field Meet we do 1 or the other every couple years. Last visit for look/see/pics was at rainy Triumphest www.flickr.com/photos/picsbyjulius/albums/72177720303113369. TR6 N IT: www.flickr.com/photos/picsbyjulius/albums/72157633108538417

Just bought a 6 in the spring. The steering is second to none imo. So much road feel back to the steering wheel. Just a joy to drive. Great video. Nice road. Gotta get mine up to the Adirondack mts in the spring. Thanks!

Welcome to the TR6 "In Crowd" select few individuals in the world fortunate enough to be owned by the LOOK/FEEL/SOUND/SMELL & Drive TR6. Best kept secret in the sports car world & by far the most practical. Glad you enjoyed the video which doesn't do road speed justice look to left on cockpit shots shows better speed, road carved into side of mountain on the left drops 1-300 ft while twisting. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4FageCtKA0g.html

You'll find the more you Drive the more you will Drive you both will love it TR6 Truly likes & demands to be Driven. Got a late start @30 so been at it a while to get to 395,032 miles don't drive often, like everyday, but when we do we Drive a lot minimum 4 hrs at each start. One of the places I never intend to visit out here you can see why most sports cars sent to west coast great roads & weather. Enjoy your TR6 what year/color did you get? Overdrive?

@@UCwp7q5nfJxOXx4txsSF my sister and her husband split up. The car sat in barn/garage for 8 years. I caught wind someone was coming to give them $3500 for it. I went off the deep end !! I told them I wanted it and I got it. They paid 14 k a decade or so ago. It was put to bed not running right. I found a pinched gas line and it’s been roses since. It’s a 76 signal red with OD. 77 k miles. I was wondering about those drop offs with no guard rails. Must add to the thrill ! Gonna check those links now. Thanks J. , Terry

The car in that “ bloke “ video looks exactly like mine. Except mine has the over rider bumperetts. First on the list is some SS bumpers w/out the bumper deals and a set of grippy soft tires. ( the red lines are hard as bricks and cracked up. ) Thanks again !

I am just curious as to where you drove to, from to accummulate that many miles. Did you do any cross country driving and where to? In the 25 years that I had my TR-6 I only accumulated 140,000 miles and that was from 3 trips across the US, east coast to west coast and back, plus Canada to Florida, and Md to NO and back; Up Pike's Peak in CO and around Yellowstone a couple times. And then I drove it to work daily for a couple years when it was my only car.

Not drove but rather ongoing Drive. Got it from original owner in '79 Seattle, Wa had 86K+ miles on it. Not driven everyday but when I do I drive a lot minimum 2 hrs out 2hrs back each time I start it up. Been to/through 11 western states, Canada. Farthest east Boulder/Breckenridge, Co. Driven Riverside, SoCal to Seattle met with 13 others for drive to Boulder, Co. Have driven 22 hrs straight other than pitstop SoCal to Seattle vice versa at least 12 times as we enjoy the tunnel vision no body on the road but us & big rigs Drive at least twice a month when no car related activities going on. There's major TR only events VTR National Convention been to 4 (Boulder, Breckenridge, Seattle, Oregon) Triumphest Cali version 40+ yrs alternates between SoCal/NorCal/Ariz been to 30+. All TR Drive In Pacific Northwest version alternates between Washington, Oregon, Canada 40+ yrs we've attended 30+ What convinced the original owner to give me the keys @30 told him it will be my 1st Only Last TR6 to keep clean looking like a trailer queen, routine mechanically well maintained & driven. 1st 3 yrs of ownership I'd drive to his business at lunchtime park curbside he'd come out, we'd shake hands I'd pop the hood he'd walk around both of us smiling, shake hands drive off until the next 6 months. Residing in Washington (6 hrs north to south 6 hrs west to east) member TYEE TR Club since '81 events drove all over the state. Member of TCSC since '97 same process. Driven solo on majority of north/south routes (101/395/PCH) in Cali quite of few of the connectors (128/266/20/I-5 to 101 to 1) just to see what the road is like 4/9/24 will make 45 yrs of being owned by this TR6 4/12/24 I'll turn 75. Many upgrades to enhance safety, handling, performance we don't drive for how fast, quick, powerful but for endurance Favs: Long distance touring several hours needle straight up @70 mph OD 2600 rpm. Back road twisties. After 20 yrs relocated from wet/rainy/overcast Seattle to S.W. desert of SoCal in '96 sunny/warm/dry heat year round so I can drive as much as I can while I can when I want 80 degress tomorrow we'll be out indulging in 4 hrs of TR6 N IT current 44+ yrs 395,261 miles towards Goal of 1/2 million miles on same TR6. We don't TR6 N IT every day but when we do we do it a lot Pics & List of many upgrades done thus far: www.flickr.com/photos/picsbyjulius/albums/72157633108538417/

'79-'90 put 150K+ on it living in small Washington St. rebuilt engine to add hard seated valves. Never smoked, never made excessive sewing machine sound noise, oil/filter changed 2-3 times, tuned, valves adjusted yrly. October rainy season I'd drive to SoCal for Triumphest to get out of the rain. Now residing in the s.w. desert of SoCal August drive to the Pacific NW to get out of the heat.

@@UCwp7q5nfJxOXx4txsSF Thanks for the very lengthy and detailed reply. I looked at your photos and love what you have done under the hood. I did some of the same when I had my TR; chromed parts and steel braded hoses, etc. I bought my car new in 1974 and then a year or so later bought a factory hardtop off of a TR sitting on a used car lot. Then i bought an overdrive trans from one of my friends. Later bought wire wheels from someone. Used to frequent the junk yards to look for stuff for the car. I sold my TR in 1999 after doing a bunch of work on it. I paid $5K for it new and sold it for $5k. I think I was just tired of driving it with so much traffic around and having been most places I wanted to go in it. Over the 25 years that I had the car I worked on almost everything on the car from the differential to the trunions. At one time we had a TR club, DC Triumph Unlimited, lasted from about 1976 to 1980 when most guys, and ladies, got rid of their cars. We used to drive to Summit Point in West Virginia for sports car races. In 1980 three of us decided to drive across country. That turned out to be a mistake; one of the guys who decided to go a different way had his car blow an oil line in Green River, Colorado. He had to have his car towed back to California for repairs and fly home. The other guy decided that he did not have enough time off work to complete the trip so he split from us in Salt Lake City.

@@edwesby5752 Unknown going in part of TR6 ownership the adventures/memories mine's just ongoing Glory Still Lives from the moment I drove it from original owners driveway to now. Attempted to answer your question "where to/accumulated miles" difficult to compress my TR6 Story decades/miles/smiles ongoing mileage into a few words as never work related I drive for Passion/Pleasure. Could be classified as modern day Driver testing the possibilities & endurance of mechanically well maintained TR6 continuing the History as pioneers from TR past. TR6 demands & Loves to be Driven.
