I did 25 years in the Army Air Assault Infantry, and 4 combat tours in SW Asia (the middle east) and this song makes me cry every time I listen to it. I have many relatives and some fellow soldiers who, to use a line out of this wonderful song,. "made it to Arlington". May they all forever rest in God's Peace and know that there can be no more noble a sacrifice than to give up all of your tomorrows so that a fellow American can still have theirs.
Interesting story behind this song, the General gave out the order in 2 languages and told him that it would cost him. In the orginal video a soilder's tombstone is featured, he had to ask permission from that soilder that accompanied him to regain the cost. It's in military records, when he visited the tomb of the unknown soilder he was asked to sign a paper with his 13 answers. For the Archives, when he asked for a copy the soilder stated he did not ask for a copy & could visit the original anytime.
Kind of says it all. I have friends in Arlington and some at Leavensworth Cemetery and they all gave their life for us to live our life.: they gave their tomorrow for our today. Viet Nam veteran 67-68 and DAMN PROUD of it. Thank a Vet PLEASE

Mr. Whitten, Thank you for your service. MANY times the Canadian Forces have covered the backs of US soldiers in combat. As an American, I thank you and your fellow service men and woman for being their as our allies.
Trace Adkins is a great American and supporter of the troops. I had the privilege of seeing him perform for me and my fellow soldiers in Mosul, Iraq in 2008. He was sick as a dog but put on a marvelous performance regardless. Thanks, Trace, for bringing a morale boost to the troops serving down range. You're a great American!
I am not American, but this always gives me a lump in my throat and make makes cry. I was lucky enough to make the memorial concert in 2014 and gave thanks to those who served
