Mahi Mahi! aka The Chicken of the sea (and even Popcorn Bream).
For the offshore angler, this has to be one of the most exciting species to target. The are a strong fish to fight, their aerobatics gets your heartrate up, they're delicious on the braai (or battered and fried or just about anyway you like it) AND they're so prolific you don't have to beat yourself up for keeping a couple for the table. What more could you ask for? When they're on the bite they can come in good numbers too.
In this Trace video, Ray Thompson demonstrates how to target the Dorado using a circle hook trace with a dead or live bait. "It doesn't get any easier than that!"
All the components used in this Trace Demonstration is available from all Kingfisher retail shops and all leading tackle stores nationwide.
Here is the list of what you will need to replicate this trace:
- Mustad Tuna Circle 6/0
