Mitch may be the best ball reviewer out there. His explanations on what he’s doing and seeing is fantastic. He’s also super consistent so he can actually execute the adjustments.

Absolutely love hearing Mitch's thoughts between shots. I struggle so much understanding what goes wrong sometimes, so it really helps to have that pro-level insight. Don't let him go back to the other side of Canadia please.

Mitch is a A++++++++ addition to the crew.. great job, love his reviews. Color pigments mixed have different textures 100%. My buddy is a chemist who makes lotions and other liquids, the different colors require different mixtures because of texture. So 100% the color pigments used will effect the texture of the material once cured.

Man, I liked your ball reviews, but with Mitch especially, these are the best ball reviews out there. His consistency with throwing the same shots with different balls is great. Thanks, guys.

I actually like more colorful pieces, because it lets me see the rotation of the ball down the lane and gives me a little extra help with adjusting hand positions if needed. I can see what my ball is doing in the midlane and at the breakpoint with solid colors too, but I do like seeing exactly how my ball is rolling off my hand. Performance wise I've heard different color pigments do actually affect ball motion, but I personally don't notice a big difference.

Can you guys start including ball speed with the throws? That would be awesome although does seem like a lot of extra work.

Color absolutely has an effect on ball performance. I agree that as the Heat lane shines, it livens up much like the Knock Out did for me as well.

Absolutely I believe that color has an affect, black balls seem to hook a little more than others, purple balls seem to just be great all around, red balls seem to hook a little more also, white balls seem like the go a little longer

Just threw these at a demo day in Texas City. By far my favorite ball at the test. It’s a great step down for me from my Power Torq.

So, for me personally, I have found that color doesn't directly impact the performance of the ball, but it does impact my game. For instance, I my goto right now is the Obsession Tour Solid. But due to the color I sometimes find it hard to read the spin off of the ball. So, if I feel like I'm loosing my technique or release point, I switch to a backup ball with more vibrant and contrasting colors so I can read the spin off of it better and correct my release accordingly.
@matthewberwald1691
@matthewberwald1691 2 года назад
I have hot pink grips and a slug in my Obsession tour. I do that for all of my flat colored balls. (Whatever color sticks out the most.) Allows me to see the rotation very easily, if you haven't done that might be worth a try to see if your eye likes it. If you don't use grips or a slug, properly placed vibrant tape on the ball can also work
@v2micca
@v2micca 2 года назад
@@matthewberwald1691 Yeah, I am thinking about replacing the grips and slug in mine with bright yellow ones.

Preferably black bowling balls or any dark color balls in general, because the hook more and you can’t tell if your rev rate is high or low

Mitch did a fantastic review well done! I really would have like to see some one from the shop with a different speed/style throw the ball as well to get a better picture of what the ball does. This Track ball looks great though 🔥
@michaelyeager5534
@michaelyeager5534 2 года назад
The reason I say this my speed is on the low side about 12-13 and my rev rate is mid 290-300. So its helpful for me to watch some one that may play a little slower/straighter. I love to watch these fast/spinning bowlers. I just know the ball dosent react same for me personally

Definitely a believer in purple balls. My Jackal Ghost might be the best house shot killer I’ve thrown…

I’ve sworn for a few years now that just about every single all black ball rolls great, and to a slightly lesser extent any ball that is all one dark color i.e. Damn Good Verge, !Q Tour, Obsession Tour, etc. Definitely could be a placebo, but those are my observations.

100%. Purple is the best color for bowling balls.

Some pro shop owners i've talked to in the past say that the pigment used does affect the balls motion, if i remember it was yellower balls do something weird but i can't remember exactly. But imho, no, the ball doesn't change as much as the bowlers ability to see the balls motion front to back can vary. Solid colored balls like this one can be more difficult to see the downlane precession (aka, the ball slowing down and turning forward as it encounters friction downlane from it's off hand rotation)

Definitely bowl better when I like the colors of the balls! My favorites are purples, pinks and blues. Mitch's reviews are awesome. Enjoy his matter of fact style and content.

personally i like purple bowling balls, always have seemed to bowl well with them i had the rhino, purple x-calibur, purple angle as well as many others throughout the years, somehow i always seemed to bowl well with them. the only ball i don't like is the pitch purple, but right now i have 2 purple hammers and soon a big bro. i think purple being a darker color is easier on my eyes to read ball motion on the lanes, don't really care for bright colors other than the o.g. pink hammer which is still my all-time favorite

Color makes the ball roll earlier or later depending how dark or light it is. If that’s what you call effecting the performance then yes. I say no…as earlier vrs later doesn’t make it less performing, it just covers the distance differently. That’s my $0.02 worth.

When he says moving over “2 and 0” or “2 and 1” I understand that he’s moving 2 boards to the side but what is the 0 and 1 representing? What moves? Also REALLY noob question what do you line up with the board you want to stand on? For example if I wanted to stand on board 20, what part of my foot lines up with it?
@1ufcfanatic795
@1ufcfanatic795 2 года назад
The first number is his feet and the second number is the target with his eyes. So a 2 and 1 movement is moving 2 boards with his feet and 1 board with his eyes. I hope that helps.

Purple ball (my hyroad pearl) was my favorite ball since it came out when I bowled in Highschool. I got the zen recently after a few years off and now I have to say purple ball no longer my favorite. If they could make the zen purple it would be a game ender.

It's been already proven that color affects the performance and by a drastic amount. If you look at some balls (specially international ones) that are nothing but color changes of one-another, many of them are extremely different. The one that comes to my mind right now is the IQ Tour Pearl x IQ Tour 30

Great explanations on the two balls, I really enjoyed the video with Mitch, such a great bowler. I haven’t really thought to much about the color of a ball in depth. But I did hear white had a more grab but my friend could be pulling my leg, but do own a purple the one only is a hammer, not a tank.lol my Q is did Mitch polished the two balls because being a solid they do look shinny, I thought of doing that with a few of my solids?

Im new to bowling, I'd love to see a chart I could take a screen shot of deciphering the terminology. I think I heard strong and weak is the opposite of what it sounds like, so strong sounds like it would hook harder, but it actually holds a straighter line longer?
@jrproshop
@jrproshop 2 года назад
A ball that is “strong” will use its energy early and hook earlier. Whereas a ball that is “weak” will save its energy for later, and these balls typically create a more defined motion at the end of the oil pattern
@scatterbrain9490
@scatterbrain9490 2 года назад
@@jrproshop well that makes sense in my head. Another video was saying the opposite and that it's normally referred to backwards and confuses people, so I've now heard two meanings. I like what you're saying better though lol, makes more sense

It's not an opinion: different colors do react marginally differently. We just don't see all of the color iterations manufacturers test to dial in what they want.
