My dad. 27 years in military, retired 3x from 3 industries. Now right in middle of chemo and radiation treatments for lung, his mom my grandmother just passed this am and dad is determined to still remain pallbearer. I'll be on his side to ensure enough strength to carry her but man what strength...
My idol is Chris Barnes as well but for a different reason to Jungo. I always admired his tactical game and how he always seemed in control of exactly how he wanted to play the lanes and always had a plan, especially when he was in his prime while I was growing up.
yea for me chris barnes is my #3 favorite PBA bowler ever, i just think that he is more technical when it comes to the lanes and how they transition to dryer parts and just always so percice but also i loved it when he bowled with that ball the world beater, and also i saw on tv when he got that 300 game. thats exactly when i started watching belmo
Honestly my favorite 2 bowlers are Kris Prather and Brad Miller! They’re so smooth, controlled players.. too bad Brad is not a champion on the pba tour yet :(
I would say my Idol is my Dad. I've been watching him bowl for forever it seems like now, and he got me into bowling as a little kid. Even at 60 years old he's out here shooting over 1800 at nationals haha. I'm just trying to be like him!
being a two hander, when i first started bowling of course it was belmo. hes still one of my idols but ive grown more into all the other two handers like simo, osku, svensson, packy, and more
Belmo was also my inspiration being a 2 handed bowler but now watching guys like simo and packy have helped me become the bowler I’ve always wanted to be
In bowling, my idol was Earl Anthony, even though I'm a righty. Loved his consistency and his ability to beat bigger rev rates by just being the most fundamentally sound player on tour.
My grandmother is my idol. Even though she is no longer around, she's the one who taught me the love of bowling. As for PBA pros, Norm Duke is an all time favorite bowler of mine. After Norm, I'd put Michael Fagan as a favorite to watch. He's got such a smooth swing and release.
Bowling idol was Ernie "Big Ern" McCracken. His game was just very smooth, he aced anticipating lane transitions and always created predictable ball movement. I think I'll get an Idol Helios to use for league this winter, seems like a winner. Also, great job cleaning out the brackets in Vegas last week. You've got a new subscriber and fan. Cheers!
My first bowling coach, Kaleena Henning. She bowled youth leagues in my home alley and took me under her wing and taught me a lot. She then went on to win an NCAA championship at Nebraska and is now on the pwba.
Walter Ray for sure. He made a suprise visit at a charity event that my home alley was hosting in Connecticut back in 2009. I even got to bowl a game with him and a few of my friends. I've never felt so excited and intimidated at the same time lmao. Super chill and humble guy. He gave me some tips on how to better shoot my ten pins that I was struggling with at the time. I still have my old shoes he signed for me too. I know one of my buddies has some footage from the game and I'll upload it if I can get a hold of it.
My idol is actually my brother in law, he's a fair bit older than me and uses his experience to try and help me improve which has definitely been increasing my average :)
My favorite bowler when I started finding my identity as a bowler was and still is Tom Daugherty. I bowl the same way as him, plus him getting his due with the titles this year was well deserved.
Being a 2 hander I love watch packy. The house bowling channel is awesome. He has alot of content and makes it easy to look up to him and love the game of bowling.
Chris Barnes was who I modeled my game after back in the day but recently Kris Prather. Both very smooth bowlers love watching them both. Hey Jungo's not bad either, he's alright lol
My favorite bowler is norm duke because he just shows that you need to hook the ball so much to get a strike and he is just a awesome person and his mentality is amazing.
When i started bowling i did two hand bowling so of course belmonte was one of my idols but growing into the sport i really like watching kris prather, svensson, chris via and butturff
my favorite PBA bowler is and still is even thou retired now is walter ray williams jr, just ik he is a straighter player and im a cranker but when i first started watching the PBA tour for the first time walter ray was bowling and i just really liked him and the style, so from that point on he has been my favorite #1 PBA bowler and i saw on TV when he got the Only big 4 ever picked up on TV vs ryan shafier.
I had to put this at 4000 grit to get it to work for me. Just too early. Heard a lot of others say the same. I think this ball works best at 3000 or 4000, unless you have high speed to prevent it from revving up too early. That removal of surface for most others will put the movement further down and let you use this at straighter angles, like most solids are best at.
Definitely Chris Barnes all the way! Top notch knowledge in the sport, love his style and very versatile bowler. Honourable mentions will be Parker Bohn III, Bill O'Neill, Kris Prather! (too many to mention 😂)
Walter Ray Williams Jr., the first time I seen him practice in person at Pacific Bowl (Stockton, Ca) wanted to be as consistent as him. Slowly getting there again after the shut down..
I have two idols in bowling, the first is Tommy Jones from being a kid in middle school through high school. My second one is in today's game it's Darren Tang. My bowling style is a combin of both Tang and Jones.
But Mike Fagan can throw a square ball and make it roll smooth and effortless. Lol

Guys can control speed back in the day. You didn’t adjust your speed you adjust your feet and your target line nowadays it’s all about how hard you throw it or how soft you throw it
Norm Duke is an a hole when he's bowling. He's definitely a drunk but when he's not bowling he is one of the nicest guys. Sits there, tells stories for days and spits knowledge like crazy.
I have a few I bowled league with and look up to: Sean Rash....Rick Steelsmith...Justin Hromek. Bowling with and against these guys demanded me to elevate my game. Early on though, Walter Ray Williams Jr was the man!
My idol was Lindsey Coles. Old guy that I bowled league with. The man could do anything with a Columbia 300 red dot. Sadly he passed away a few years back. I guess my professional idol is Belmo. Fellow Aussie and down to earth
I love both jesper and francois, not only are they not from the US, but they don't speak like ever on the lanes. So calm so controlled like it's kinda scary honestly, I wish I could be like that, would hate to play against them
Like the fact of your videos being very informative. Being you guys are all young, curious as to what speed you all are averaging, and what your thoughts are, of possible equipment for seniors bowling in house leagues? For myself I am 68 and would like a consistent arc and roll around 10 board with my speed around 14? Also what are your thoughts on wrist braces? thanks
Nelson "Bo" Burton Jr. was my all-time favorite and spent every weekend at the lanes practicing his weekly tips to get ready for leagues and tourneys. So much improvement from watching and practicing regularly.
Bowling was Amleto Monacelli and little Duke. Now like EJ, as well as others but something about smaller people creating such amazing power consistently. I'm 6'3" 235# and relatively strong, so watching them do shit I can't even do is freaking awesome
I idolize Simon, packy, and Darren. I met all 3 at the jonesboro pro am this year. I acctually bowled a 290 (my highest ever score even if it's no tap) with packy on 5 frames
Kyle Troup is my idol, for sure. How would you say the helios compares to the pro? I just sold my axiom and idol to get the helios, but I dont know if I should keep it in the same or separate bags as my pro. Thanks!
I’m getting my first idol which will be the Helios because my teammate at league Tuesday at Strathpine has the og and pearl version so I want to get in and have one
