@@srellessemaj my opinion it's not a great ball just because of all the competition it has with all the other weaker sym-pearls are out right not but it's not the worst
I just got the Hyped solid for league play. I'm a stroker and it's a really good ball. I already had the cosmos and the zen soul. I'm liking the roto grip balls. I been out of bowling for 5 years and man the balls has changed! I'm glad I seen your reviews on these balls which has made me make my decision easier andI'm thinking about getting the gem next
i just got a SuperNova and in 3 games i had 203-160-215. It had been quite some time since i broke 200 and it was only once before. To have 2 200 games in a 3 game series was amazing
Great video Darren. I think it's time for another six ball arsenal list. Maybe a three ball house shot one. I know this is a recent ball release list, but where do you have UC3?
My favorite ball of the year has to be the Hustle USA, I bowl at a lot of all wood centers here in Ohio, they don’t like putting oil down, most new reactive stuff either hooks too much or doesn’t get past the heads. Shot 824 last month with my Hustle USA out of box, definitely a good matchup at the houses I bowl at.
My daughter (college bowler) just got one and for her, it's the first option after the Phaze II. Bowled best in games 14-16 bakers (5 strikes - 9/ to finish). It's very controllable and got through midlane with that longer skid, but still had enough energy to get through pins. Her favorite besides the Phaze II.
I absolutely love my Nova. My first couple of games with it were terrible, but was also after taking almost 7 years off from bowling. My next to be drilled is a Night Road. Not sure what layout I would like.
Great video. I'd love to see something similar where each ball is put into a category based on where it fits in an arsenal, maybe with some of the older stuff there for a rough comparison. I think this would really help your viewers like me to make better educated guesses around which bowling balls might fill gaps since most of us don't get to throw every ball that comes out. Also, as a lefty, I'd love to hear from a lefty's perspective which bowling balls are the NUT! :) Thanks
Awesome video. Love this kind of stuff. Tropical Surge is my spare ball. You can hook or power straight through. I use a infinite physics and the ball can be tuned with sanding. 600 long curve, 2000+ late action that's amazing.
Next tier list: Las Vegas bowling alleys. Rank them based on value, experience, etc. and help show people who might travel to Vegas and want to bowl where the good alleys are and the ones to sort of avoid are

The Gem was my first ball and I absolutely love it, it truly is a gem. Just picked up an Iq tour solid for a ball down, excited to see how it rolls. I definitely recommend the gem!

Darren I really enjoy your videos. I’m a fan. 71 year old lifelong 187, now 165 after series of health stuff. My son Wendell is pro at Santa Clarita in California. I have UC3, Ocean Vibe and Christmas - Hammer reactive solid. I’m house and occasional local tourneys. Any of your favs that might be interesting maybe put on longer term list. I wish there was a way to test try different types of bowling balls that fit my hand without buying all of them. I want a bowling ball but have no idea where to even start with all these different types they have. And i like to bowl straight as well as curve so does that mean i need two different balls?
Just got back into bowling about a year and a half ago after being out for about 20 years. I started watching your videos just as I got back into it. I bowled my first 300 a few weeks ago with the Nova. Now that they've discontinued it would you recommend stocking up on several of them if I really like it?
Darren great list man. I would agree with the GEM as a nut ball. I drilled the Reality Check and shot 288 out of box with it. Give it a chance it is definitely worth the time.
I love the tropical surge. It was my first ball. It's definitely a weak hooking but it hits good! It's my favorite spare ball or go to on med to light oil. Great ball for the price
For me the Zen Soul has a reaction kinda similar to the somewhat banned Trend 2. But being the Trend 2 had a look of it's own it does have a spot in my bag & I like it but been using the Reality Check more since it came out. I like the Reality Check so much I have 2 with different layouts.
i love my Nova a lot, I like to put 2k on it then try and smooth that out a little bit with a higher grit so i have the teeth beneath, it rolls perfect for my game to follow my damn good verge.
I was recently at a bowling ball matchmaking event, I thew a few of these balls. Phaze V I threw 6 times, all strikes, I bought it(only one I bought from this event) I'm still getting use to it. I feel I'm going to kick ass with this once I get it down Super Nova felt heavier than what I threw. I throw 15 pounders, this felt like it was 16. I had a couple brooklyns with it. The guy in the pro shop told me this ball is good for the first game maybe two, but once the lanes break down, this won't be good. RST X 3 was fine, I did get a strike or two with it. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either Idol Cosmos I threw 3 times, first two were splits. I did convert one(5-10) not the 6-7 The Fate, Zen U, Reality Check and Night Road were ok, again I didn't love them but I didn't hate them, but I also only threw these 3-4 times each.
I actually agree with the tropical surge placement by Michael T. I’m pretty rev dominate, 500 rev and 15.5-16 mph. For me it just smashes through the pocket. Let’s me play right which is impossible with any other bowling ball that has a strong cover.
My favorite for the year that I've thrown is the Nova. For me its perfect. My brother has an X-3 its very nice but just for me couldn't outdo the nova. I want to try the night road, supernova and phase V so hopefully that comes along. Or once we hit 100k hopefully Vitamin DTang gifts me with one lol. Good comparison video!
Cosmos for me is crazy strong ball.. I only shot one 300 before getting this ball end of summer. Ive only been rolling the cosmos for less than two months and I have rolled two 300s with it, and a 299 and 288 lol
Well, Tell Chris Via I agree with him! Have a Phaze II and a Zen Soul… and I still love the Phaze II but I seem to score better with the Soul so I throw it more often. They are close for me as well though
Great video - love hearing your opinions on releases. You also described me in league perfectly...needing to play straighter but get forced into the cliff. What would be a medium-dry, cleaner step down from like a Hustle Camo I could go to (if I want to play straighter)?
Hyped solid and tropical surge . I just got the tropical surge and hustle USA drilling them both for shorter patterns as well as a hyped solid when I get it..I’ll let you know about the USA when I have it drilled and throw it a lil.. I think it’s gonna be a staple for me for those reasons 🤞

@@se7enbe You could try Storm's Matchmaker (on their website), but you'll need some information to use it (which you'll see if you check it out). I went with a Proton PhysiX a couple months ago because of it and I have been very pleased with it so far.

A few weeks back I bought the Tropical Surge, Phaze II and Hammer 3D-Offset High Rev. Got them drilled and shot them for the first time last week, shot 9 straight in my 3rd game finishing with a 268 (opened the first frame) with the Tropical Surge, first game playing it. Such a great ball, I see a 300 coming soon with it.
He is on staff with Storm/Roto Grip/ 900 Global. His contract prevents him from throwing balls outside of these product lines............at least on camera.

Do you Pin Down on ASYM or Sym balls. JR in Canada feels Pin Down really kills what is built into a ball. Can you give an example of what you have used Pin down on. Thanks Do I remember correctly that you are in Vegas/Henderson. I am also and bowl at Gold Coast and Red Rock.
I've been throwing black widow and I get a lot of 9’s unfortunately it's too heavy and its 15 pounds curve ball and I didn't do good at my first tournament so that might have something but I do better with Brunswick 8’s
Thx for naming to ball...I'm having trouble at Red Rock on house shot just to much movement on fresh. Thinking Hyped solid might be a good choice where I can play a little further right. What surface would you recommend. Not a big fan of solids but this one might be a good one. Thx for any input.
I know my opinion doesn't matter much as I shoot 170's on a house shot but since I got the super nova I've been playing the lane better, throwing with more rev I've been better at adjusting speed when I need to and now I'm shooting like 190/200 average but my point is that I'm loving this ball and I feel like you should try it out more.
I am back to the sport after a long absence. I'm still throwing my old Red Alert that I got back in 98. (I'm holding a 205 average) I want to add another ball to the bag. How should I choose? I like an all around ball usually.
For me the nut and staple balls are the marvel s, IQ tour solid, zero gravity, invasion , IQ tour fusion , og marvel , hyroad x # my favorite ball over the IQ tour solid
