The track on the John Deere skid steer is SHREDDED! The wear plate over the final drive is COMPLETELY WORN THROUGH and it caught the track and SHREDDED the inside of it! I got my dad and brother to come help me, HOPEFULLY we can FIX this SERIOUS PROBLEM! Plus, we figured out a SUPER EASY way to take a skid steer track on and off so watch me explain that part!

That was a great tip from those guys at the John Deere Shop about using the pins to assist in the removal & reinstalling of the track. Team work makes the dream work.😁👍🏼 Take care & cheers 🐨🦘🥰

With all that wear on the plate my question is why didn't your dealer suggest changing it out when replacing the final drive? Could have saved you from repairing it yourself. Also, the intro and outro were great.👍

It could have been there was wear, but the main damage to it we saw when it was taken off, happened on a job afterward. I had wondered the same thing though. I would certainly think (hope) that a dealer would not have put it back together with that bent like that. Thanks for the tip on using the old pins or pieces of pipe. I don't have a skidsteer, but did help a neighbor replace tracks a while ago and that would have helped a lot.

The joys of equipment owning and operating. A lot of people don’t know that has to be done. Skid steer nation has track removal and install kit

Thanks man! I am trying LOL! I am no mechanic LOL but I am getting better at doing some of this stuff myself. RU-vid helps alot and so does talking to the local mechanics at the local John Deere dealer.

Good video and you're not an idiot or you wouldn't have been able to fix that machine. Keep the videos coming. They're great.

I know most of your stuff is DeWalt, but, other than Milwaukee, Kobalt also makes a right angle pneumatic wrench and a right angle impact. Just something to keep in mind.

Bolting that tooth on will not last very long at all, it needs a roll pin

The best way to loosen that is to lay it to before between your track and the drive and rotate it around and it will suck that right in

Might want to look into puttin on some rubber glue on the shredded track to keep it in optimal condition. Those things aint cheap and track looks fairly new so might as well try keep it running long as possible.

I don't know if you can but whilst replacing the plate I would have removed and reversed the track so the damaged part of the track was on the outside and you could then keep an eye on it just in case the damage to it was more severe than you said.

Dude what type of grease are you using? That looked like a pile of dog shit on the track frame. Then you scooped it up and I was like yuck. LOL! Good video. Stay well. -Wil 👍

rubber tracks are a heck of a lot easier than steel excavator tracks are those things are and can be a real nightmare least the excavator can help put its own track back on where a skid steer can't. But good job you have to spend money to make money.

🤣🤣🤣 Yeah we made it work! I put my dad in the skidder, he has never really operated that thing much but I needed my brother for the heavy lifting on the outside with my so I wasn't yelling at him as much as I was emphatically telling him what to do LOL!
