After three years of running our 2017 Tracker Grizzly 1754, there are some things would would change. but overall it's a great boat and we are happy with our set up.
That is an awesome boat. I’m currently building a Jon boat and got several ideas. I have to give you mad props sir! Y’all have platinum balls going out on Lake Erie in that though. My wife and I went to Erie camping back in September and the size of the waves almost every day was incredible. It shouldn’t be called a lake it should be a mini ocean. I grew up on the Chesapeake bay and have only seen waves close to that size if a hurricane was coming.
Thanks for the tour. I have the same boat but not with the fat sides. Let me know what electric jack plate you go with. I run a Yamaha 60/40 hp jet drive on mine. I think it would be a big plus to have. I like the idea of seats in the center floor. Nice job.
Can you please give me the seat offsets on the floor. How did you k ow where the cross beams were? Also what sive wire did you use for the flood light. Tha ks Bob
Nice video. I’ll be saving this video for when I save up to pay cash for the boat I want. I like the 1754. I just wished they put the channels in to wire the boats easier like they do in the 1654 T sportsman. If they built a 1754 like they do the 1654T Sportsman I think they would sell a lot of them.
Many great ideas! Have you had any issues with the seat mounts you put in the floor (ie floor flexing)? I am going to be adding Seadek to an aluminum boat and have been watching videos for suggestions, but your cuts are much cleaner than most. Any tips / suggestions for how to get such nice, clean cuts? Thanks!
Sorry u just saw this comment. I apologize. There is no flexing at all. I've had some larger guys in those seats and you would think they were welded to plate steel.
when you installed the pedestal seat bases in the deck, did you have to offset any distance to miss the center support beam or is it dead centered? Last thing I need it to core a 2 1/2" hole only to find the pedestal base doesn't fit. Tried to look online for tracker framing plan, but nothing found. Thanks.
I off centered them bit to the opposite side of my gun bot to allow for leg room. When I get home I can get you an exact measurement of that would help
@@KevinsNorthernExposure sorry the boat isn't here or I would have got it sooner. My seats are offset away from the gun box, towards the right side if you are in the boat looking forward. The center of my seat hole is 21 inches off the wall.
I want to add two seat panels in the floor of the boat like you did. I don't want/plan on removing the floor for any reason. I know there is a channel that runs from bow to stern, I have snaked some wires through there already. Will this channel interfere with placement of the seat panels? Thanks
I didn't want to hit that channel so I tried to figure out where it was. I can get you the measurements tomorrow of where I placed mine, as long as they didnt change the design. I used a hole sawmill and heavy sheet metal screws.
I think we've seen 42. It's not propped very aggressive. We csry some heavy loads so we wanted a happy medium of top speed and still getting good hole shots
the long tiller handle and the middle seat location bugs me....I'll have to install a seat plate over a bit so I can operate the tiller (bought a new tracker with 40 merc but it's on order.) How were you able to secure the plate to the seat deck? Just SS screws or some kind of toggle style bolts? Worried the screws will will pull through with enough torque.
I used the largest ss sheet metal screws that fit in the seat base hole. I've tripped over decoys and landed on the seat hard, and been in some rough water with some bigger people in the seats and no issues at all. I do add a dab of 3m marine sealant anytime I put a scre in.
It's holding up great. I rinsed the deck off with some de greaser and it was good to go. Even on the rear pods that are under water half of the time I've had no issues.
For some reason they don't list it anymore. But if you call tracker they will look it up. A subscriber told me he had to talk with them for a while before they understood what he was looking for. It's made by tracker.
