That is very nice of you guys to do that for him. What an awesome birthday gift!. And now the sky's the limit for accessories when it comes to Christmas gifts, Father's Day and Birthday's! lol
What a wonderful and thoughtful gift! I’m sure that will be a blessing to him. Power packed video with tips, tricks, fun and frivolity. What more could one ask for. BTW I hear Dave’s father in law is a great guy
That’s an awesome birthday gift!! Congratulations Bobby and enjoy this 1025r for many years!! I’m also forwarding this video to my son in law as I comment!😂 It really is more of a blessing to give than receive!!
I absolutely love this video! The content, commentary, and footage is excellent. If RU-vid has awards for best overall, you would be the winner! Great Job!
Just wanted you to know I have been wanting to beef up my 2022 1025R's hydraulic capabilities. I have watched your videos and those from HydroPlus & I was really impressed. So I have ordered the cylinders & the stage #3 pump & I wanted to thank you for the TWTT coupon!
That canopy and fan is a nice setup. Agree it would look best green but receiving as a gift, white looks great when it means comfort! Love the tip on the grease needle. Just ordered it from your Amazon store.
Tim your show and tell is so cool. Your voice is very calming and helps when doing anything to my Little Johnny. So sorry for wife’s (and you) loss of her mom. I can relate as I to lost my mom in February. He will be vey happy with his JD as anyone would be happy to! Keep up the good work. PS we all like Dave!
Very nice Tim. Having the tractor will get your father in law out and doing things again. It will be sooooo good for him. Very enjoyable video Tim. I hope you do a video when you deliver it to him. It would be great to see his reaction and to see him trying it out.
when you deliver that wonderfully thoughtful "gift" you will be passing through within 10 miles of where I live more than likely (i'm less than 10 miles straight south of Raleigh ) if you have the time and feel so inclined maybe we could meetup for a cheeseburger or something
Happy Birthday Bobby! Tim, you should make a note of the hours on it and then check to see how much time he has spent on Johnny. Like me I bet it's a lot more than you would think. He will love having it around.
The canopy would probably be easy to put a vinyl wrap on. Might be an idea for a future video. Leave the underside white as that will help with visibility.
I have. 2015 1025r that I had to replace the main drive shaft because of that joint. I don’t mess around anymore and I remove the bottom cowling cover, 15 minutes, to grease from above and make 100% sure the joint is taking grease all around.
I disabled my RIO switch to increase safety. Having to hold the button while looking over your shoulder and still holding the wheel when you start to push on the reverse pedal is challenging and it restricts your view behind you because you can't turn around far enough. Disabling that switch allows you you put one arm over the seat and turn you head further and have a clear view behind you when reversing.
I would paint the canopy yellow-it would harken back to the older color scheme; if it gets scratched it would not be so obvious. It’ll be fine but that’s me. Blessings!
there's a much easier way to do the RIO thing via jumper that doesn't involve getting under the seat etc. There's a detailed thread on green tractor talk that includes the part number for the needed plug. With that method, all the work is done near the PTO with easily accessible wiring that makes it trivial to reverse (reasons on why one might want that left as exercise to the reader).
Just use a small pistol grip gun that takes the small cartridges. Also you can use a small flex hose not really a problem you just have to line up the fitting in the hole
A couple of cans of JD Green would hide the white paint. Hope he has many hours of seat time. Don't forget to check the mower deck, grease, oil, blades.
If he uses code TTWT, does it include free shipping? 😀 We will be looking for a delivery video to come in the future. You are setting a good example and picking up some extra room around the garage , that's a win win.
Nice to give to your relatives its better to give than recieve...Self loading, regulations and safety aside, the manual loader allows for more skill development while the self leveling is better for a lot of repeditive tasks where nuance is not needed. Everyone can benefit by making unused gear go away...
I think they use 4 wires so they can sense the switch being closed (pushed) and open (released). At first blush you might think that simply being not closed means it's open, but that doesn't tell you if the switch is actually functional. If the 1025 requires the seat to be flipped up when you're running a PTO driven accessory like a wood chipper (where you'd be out of the seat), then you may find that's not going to work. Of course, if he doesn't run an accessory like that, it doesn't matter.
On the 3046R, I just went into the menus on the dash and turned the reverse mower cutoff off. I didn't try the zip tie thing, because the Internet said there's a timer or something where it wants to see it change direction every once in a while or it knows you just unplugged or shorted it or whatever.
What fitting (that You showed) is that for? If it's a "carrier bearing or pillow block" for the driveline could an extension be added between grease fitting and part it goes into , make access easier.
Installed my Deere top and fan a couple of weeks ago. I'll probably wire it this fall. I've never had the floor boards and console off before. What about the brake bell crank?
The white roof will block the sun and be cooler in the summer instead of black roof absorbing and cooking in the sun. All the money for a John Deere tractor and gotta go through all that to mow in reverse? My 20 year old craftsman just turn the key back one click and mow in reverse all day. Your setting papa up well though I hope we get to see the reveal and reaction. I mean you already got his daughter now your just spoiling him.
Might of said it in the older video with that seat. Would it work with the older models with the 260 that have the swivel seat? I’m fine with my current seat but I’m guessing there’s others that might be curious
Don't quote me but I beleive RIO is reverse implament operation. I disabled mine and I personally feel like it's safer without it. I have a 1023e and I also dislike greasing that one driveshaft zerk
Hey Tim - I’m in the market for a tiller for our 1025r and am in the area. Do you have one that you wouldn’t mind selling? I have a plan to renovate our backyard this fall. Thanks!
