I clicked on this video as soon as i saw an Oliver! Grandad had an 1800 from 1964. Love those tractors. Lots of memories came rushing back from my childhood. Farmers are mechanics, carpenters, electricians, and everything else. 🚜🚜

I have to say the interaction you and your father have is the best part of your channel. I'm actually jealous my dad and I never had that, not one day of our lives.

Gotta ask,,,has you're dad spent time as a tractor mechanic? His understanding of the working parts on older equipment is amazing. People with that ability right out of the gate are EXTREMELY rare.

I locked up an Oliver 1550, trying to shift to fast, not being stopped and shifting! I droped a bolt down in a JD B, and I tried everything to get it out, Nope! Then Oh, the Wife! Her small hands reached right down in there and got it out! Hey, don't keep us in suspense, I want to see that tractor move!🤣

That's pretty cool watching you guys work on the Oliver Transmission. My late Uncle Bill and Cousin Dale have three old McCormick Farmall tractors. One's a 1948 Farmall M. My Uncle Bill's first tractor that he drove as a kid it hasn't been run in many years.

Again hope that Mom had a good birthday. I worked at a hospital at one time and the medical field doesn't take days off like everyone else does, even department secretaries. Good Video. Love the "I think that part goes there" logic. Know it will work. Also noticed that you still sound a little froggy Aaron. Hope you get better soon. Was Mariska up all night again. She looked so comfortable. We are getting lake affect snow today, not much but cold and blowy out. Thanks for the video and keep safe.

Happy Birthday Mom! Sorry that you had to work on your birthday, but then again someone has to support the farming habit! Yet another stellar video from the farm, gentlemen. There's almost always something that could use a little attention, especially when running equipment which is so close to having fully earned its keep... She's not quite ready for the parade circuit yet! It looked nice and clean inside as if you care for your machinery on a regular basis, well, at least it looked clean before the dirt got knocked in! Bless'ns to the both of ya's, Tedd

Oliver sure got a lot out of their chassis design. From the Oliver Hart Parr 70 row crop all the way to the Whites used the same layout. The nice thing about that is you can pull the engine and gut the transmission and still have a rolling chassis. I just my second Oliver tractor. It's a Super 77 diesel that I bought to run my generator with and use for other odd jobs. Jury is still out on how good of a tractor it's going to be. Parts seem hard to come by as no one hardly stock the oil filters for it at about $30 a piece.

Love the Olivers, Cockshutts, here in Canada. Still have an 1850 and a 1600. I’d be worried about the rear tires being so far out on the axles. Dad and I had problems when bad axle bearings let the resulting sloppy axle tear the splines off itself. Finding a replacement axle would not be easy today. We were always gentle with the hydrapower shift, used the clutch shifting up. Never had a hydrapower problem.

4:01 - You are correct. Always flip the hydra-power into low to shift the main transmission. Chris Losey explained it in a video called "shifting gears on Oliver tractor": ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e7r9bX3ciTc.html Love the videos! You guys have a beautiful operation. Thanks for sharing!
