Getting the non running stuff ready for this coming weekends tractor show. WheelHorse dump truck comes out of hibernation and the crusty Panzer gets revived.
Yessir,..this is interesting stuff to watch. Nice that they all started up with a minimum of maintenance to the ignition and fuel systems. So, you should have a good show,...wish I could be there!
Thanks, Pal! JUst can't beat the sound of the old Gravelys, Kohlers and Briggs engines! I got to get the kidney mower out and do0 some trimming if it'll ever stop raining. Ans Id've been here sooner but I was watching the Kruger Brothers do Beatiful Nothing at Sugar Grove and couldn't stop till they stopped. Have a FINE time at the show and snow will be here before we know it anyay!
You got it Lewie! Don't get me started on that rain, I've had just about enough of that for a week or so. Need some dry weather for work. The Kruger Brothers.... I sat and picked with Jens Kruger once when he was at Banjo Camp North years ago. Unfortunately no one had a camera back them. Was pretty darn cool...
I'm sitting here now waiting for the grass to dry up enough to try and knock the top off. It's sunny and getting more muggy by the second so just maybe it will. The Kruger Brothers are just unreal. I like Bela Fleck too but the Krugers are from another whateveritis. Camera or no, YOU will NEVER forget that deal! I'll grin with you on that one! And that was past cool. That was ARCTIC! The Greek Flatpickers are fine likewise!
I really like old tractors, old trucks, old heavy equipment. Love your channel. I really need to get out there and swap my Workhorse Briggs with a Kohler that runs better. Also have a OM617 diesel swap im doing into a 70 W200 Dodge... cant get anything done, getting totally distracted by these channels haha...
Wow Jake..That was so cool!!!..you know me and your Panzers..lol. I like the rusty one almost as much as ole' Blue. That dump tractor should be a hit..I've never seen that one. Oh..and if ya want...me and my boys...Fids, Ink, and Angus can stop by and take care of that mouse problem for ya...lol. Don't have a mouse within 5 square acres of my place.
Crusty and 'ole Blue will both be at the show this year! Haha, yes please do! We used to have a good mouser here that killed everything from rabbits to moles, but a coyote got it 4-5 years ago... Down-right shame, was a dang good cat...
what no comments... I forgot why I subbed! you're creative..and I to like modifying things started two many projects..and oddly enough I started a dump myself.....and SHORTENED another one..and picked up a JOHN DEERE 400 with the three leavers for hydrolics, and I've started building a front loader...like I said took many projects. wish you well at your gathering...of like minded FOLKS
I think you would do well to have a storage building put up on your property. If you could keep your stuff under roof, you would have a lot less repeat work.
The last time I visited your channel was around late 2011 I think. First thing that I noticed: your voice has changed quite a bit! But I am glad you are still around :)
Wow, that was about a year after I first started this. Haha, it sure has! Glad you cycled back around again! Videos aren't as prominent now-a-days, but I still manage to keep them going as time allows.
Love the sound of those Onan opposed twin engines. Reminds me of the JD318 I fixed for my parents friend, Had to fix the ignition and charging system but for the rest of the week it was at my place it was stuck on garden duty. Really want JD140 to play with :D ...... SOoooo engine part is cool but what style rear lift you going to make for the 4WD Gravely ???? A little 3 point would be cool and all but even Cat 0 would be A little big for that machine. A sleeve hitch would be more suited to it and the sleeve hitch style moldboard plow is much easier to find.
Had a 140! There was videos way back on it, thing was a piece of junk though... and had a 316 hood too go figure. How common are older JD's up there? They seem to be common enough down here but people want stupid money for the 140's and 120's. The plan was to copy a Case 3pt similar to the ones that mount on the 400 and 600 series GT's. I haven't thought of a sleeve hitch though, kinda like that idea better. I was figuring if I found a sleeve hitch plow I could fab it so it'll mount in the 3pt. But If I build a 3pt, then I have a little more versatility... I suppose at this point it'll come down to when the engine is finished and what I'll have for fab time 'till my deadline.
Oddly enough I don't. I was thinking about that while filming too... one of these days I have to make/buy one, would make taking those clutches off a lot easier.
