Tractor tips and tricks for the new tractor operator. We use the TYM T474 tractor in this video to clear a big portion of land. I need a place for the Firewood Processor and the Sawmill is broken down. Time to upgrade the engine.

Whenever I push something with my loader I prefer to attach my stump bucket to the loader. The front edge is only about 1 foot wide and is centered on the tractor. That lets me keep the forces equal to both loader arms and concentrates all the pushing force into a small area. I affectionately call it the tree dozer.

Looks like it's coming along well. We used red ribbons and stakes to mark property boundaries, it is hard to keep track of where they are, especially in the woods. Keep up the great work, Tony! 👍

Generally in Australia farm boundaries are marked by fences. Good fences make good neighbours. English call cars “motors” & in Australia generally the term motor and engine are interchangeable however as more electric cars are out there. I really appreciate your videos Tony. I miss farm life when in the city but am thankful I can get back to my little farm.

just put my grapple back on for the first time..... took me a bit to get the pressure off the conections....finally figured i had to hit the button to back the presure off... but o got it... thanks for the vedio...

Looking good Tony. It amazes me, the clean up you can do with a 4x4 farm tractor and grapple. You and Tanja made short order of all the clean up you did. Imagine how long it would've taken doin it by hand without your equipment. Great work.

In North Carolina I grew up calling them motors in cars, trucks and tractors. As for your property lines, your county register of deeds should have a surveyor's map of the property. On the map you will find GPS coordinates and distances between markers. Get yourself a Garmin GPS and you can find all the markers listed on the map.

I was just clearing a walking path with my T474, but I only have a brush hog, bucket and pallet forks. That grapple looks like it would have made the job waaaay easier.

Steve, once you get a grapple, it will change your life; however, you can do some real work with pallet forks in the woods. This is not my favorite grapple, but my other grapple was at our house. The Tomahawk 66 is ok, but I like the clamshell style better.

That looks a lot like my situation. I am clearing my property line so I can install a fence and also looking for the best route to put my drive to the home site. I just ordered a Precision Mfg. 333 grapple and can't wait to get it. Unfortunately, they said it would take 6 weeks to arrive. Thanks for your great videos. They are so very helpful. (Insert US Flag here since RU-vid is not patriotic. They do have the pride flag, though. Go figure.).

Some folks get awful exercised about the motor/engine thing. Maybe they should take it up with the Ford Motor Company, General Motors, British Motor Corporation et. al. PS Tanja cool in the fishtail parka there. Thanks all as always.

The tree commonly called Eastern red cedar is a true juniper. Juniperus virginiana

I know, but no one calls it Juniper around here. I only learned about it after I start learning trees for the sawmill. We don't see tall straight Junipers like this anymore.

The size of the trees are not as important as the type of trees. I can push over a 6" Tulip Poplar with ease. A 6" Oak has roots to China.

Tony, how many acres is your land? Just bought 1.3lot with new construction home. Currently on Project in central California and lot is in central FL! Trying determine right size to work out land for gardening for consumption and profit, clearing/grading for shop, and mowing. Watching your videos I’m loving the T25. Curious if I should go T394? What are your thoughts on differences between the T25 and T394? Especially in terms of PTO power. Any advise be greatly appreciated Thanks, Chris

Chris, there is really not a comparison between the T25 and the T394. The T394 is a much bigger tractor. The T25 should be more than enough tractor in the long run for your normal needs. If you decide on the larger tractor, go with the the T474 over the T394. It is the same size frame tractor, and comes with more at almost the same price.

That's funny. I grew up on old equipment. People spend more time fixing it than it's worth. They also spend 5 times the money to accomplish the same thing. After I finish working this job, I can go till my garden, grade my drive, plant my garden, mow my pasture, etc.
