The ones shown in 54 just seconds are B1 battle droids, Multi Troop Transports, Single Troop Aerial Platforms, lucrehulk-class droid control ships, and C-9979 landing crafts and vulture droids. so quite a lot.
The droids where clumsy and dumb in clone wars because they are "independent" thinkers and are not controlled by a central computer also they where overloaded with programing to be gunners, pilots, soldiers, prision guards, mecanics, so they talked more to free that overload of info
@@senorbolainas2991 That doesn’t explain why the battle droids in AotC didn’t behave goofy and erratic. They weren’t connected to a central control computer, either.
Funny enough the trade federation denied the inavsion in the movie and they wanted the queen to sign a treaty to make thete inavsion legal to force the republic to keep the tax free free trade zones the federation had monopolize.
@@wwb16 No, as a fan of the OT I also love the Prequels. You just over-generalize everything because you have no arguments. The sequels suck monkey balls and there is no denying that.
@@wwb16 Wrong my ass. The sequels are not even movies, Disney sucks way too bad with its woke propaganda, its awful characters and its empty narrative. George Lucas is f#ck!n Shakespeare compared to the atrocious witch of Kathleen Kennedy or her useless dumbf#ck directors, whatever their stupid names were.
"What's that? Cold, emotionless killer robots who keep marching until the last one falls? Yeah let's just turn them into useless buffoons with silly voices who run at the first sign of trouble."
different model from the ones you see in The Clone Wars, the Trade Federation used OOM series battle droids during the invasion of Naboo, the battle droids you see in the Clone Wars are B1 series
He doesn’t find the Jedi. They don’t stop the Jedi from rescuing the queen and running the blockade. The trade federation does fuck all while the Jedi and the Queen are away for weeks. They allow Naboo starfghters to sit in the hanger. One is commandeered by a child and blows gets through all the defenses of a capital starship and disables all the droids on the planet. So competent.
Back when star wars was comfortable telling a serious story, and wasnt so immature and afraid of its own writing that i had to make a joke every 5 seconds
@zacharias5476 if your only critique is the existence of jar jar, that's pretty good. Considering the deep political topics explored in this movie that _everyone_ ignored when it came out like "blah blah blah trade sanctions" lol
@@jj_dilla it actually shocked me too...but it's trade federation...one of the biggest organization in the entire star wars universe even if they lose millions of those ships they will have no affect
As unpopular of an opionon it may be, I actually enjoy the political context this movie gives to the rise of the empire. As a 11 year old i always thought the politics were boring because I didn't understand but watching these as an adult it really shows the do nothing republic and how senator Palpatine used the beaureaucratic nature of the republic to his advantage. He knew the Senate wouldn't act on the trade federation's invasion without holding hearings and subcommittees first.
@@lioncelica5170 Palpatine, being the senator from Naboo, wanted to take over the chancellorship through a vote of no confidence in the government of chancellor Valorum while coming into power through a vote of sympathy.
Fun fact is, that Senate would acually act. Valorum (chancelor) wanted to help Naboo. But right before he wanted to say that, he got message (its even in movie) from Palpatine that he should stop. Valorum trusted Palpatine, because he was "helping him" the whole time. (as seen in the book Cloak of Deception). If Palpatine wouldnt act to stop Valorum, Senate would help Naboo.
@@michaelvavra9626 The chancellor lacks the power in Episode I to act on his own. You are right about him wanting to help, but it's not primarily Palpatine who stops him; whereby he also lengthens the decision-making process. The Trade Federation and its allies within the Senate prevented Valorum and Naboo friendly systems from acting by demanding a committee (officially Palpatine has nothing to do with that demand).
i used to find this sequence scary when i was a kid in 1999, now i find really badass, the music simply nails it. Also here the droids look menacing and have not fucking squeaker voices
I prefer this older, deeper and colder version of their voices. It adds to the immersion that these are actually killing machines that are built for war.
No I am not triggered however I am annoyed by your arrogant behavior and it really goes to show that you need to be "right" over others to feel good. That itself is a clear sign of a wounded mind. I won't comment anymore here because I am right in what I am saying and nothing can change that. Also, go get some help, otherwise no one will want to be your friend :).
I felt like this was part of what was missing from The Force Awakens. These establishing scenes where ships just form up or whatever and John Williams' music plays their motif over it. The first time we hear The Imperial March in Empire is a similar shot, just Star Destroyers cruising with TIE Fighters buzzing about.
If you ask me, I honestly prefer the Pre-Clone wars prequel setting... There's just something unique about it. Which is why i really hope they revisit the Late high republic period some day.
There was no reason to shell the city. Naboo on the surface doesn’t have a strong enough army to even consider fighting the OOM Battle Droids, and the Trade Federation knows this. It was pretty much stated in the movie that the Trade Federation would have absolutely no problem taking the planet by force using their Battle Droids besides the Jedi intervention.
At this point in the war the battle droids AI was still maintained and clear of personalities so they had a lot more faith in them to be cold, killing machines. As the war progressed and the Trade Federation didn’t have time to wipe the personality development the droids became a lot more human like and goofy like toddlers.
I have given the Ep3 and TCW/Rebels aka "Dave Droids" a new term that seems to be 100% correct all things considered. "George and Dave Jar Jar Binksed the Droids."
Goddamn I'm so glad George Lucas made these movies and i watched them when i was a kid. Angry nerds can fuck off, the only reason I gave a shit about politics growing up was the Star Wars prequels
What I love even more is that in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017), the first-person perspective of the droid-fighters are tinted red and have their own targeting HUD. Freaking awesome to play with.
ah yes, the best terrain to display the advantages of a hover tank was the Windows XP background. not a single obstacle in sight. also the tactics displayed make zero sense. and then there is JarJar 🙄 awful movie.
I've always admired the Trade Federation. They were a worthy adversary. They were masters of trading, and they knew going into such a lucrative business meant having power and also enemies. Having a droid army is just a badass way to make a statement on who has the biggest balls. Not to mention going against the Jedi's too.
I miss these battle droids. In TCW they're all so incompetent and barely present any kind of threat whatsoever. But in the movies, they actually live up to their purpose and feel intimidating.
That because in episode one the droids reiled on a central control hub to dictate orders and worry about logic and at the end of the film anakin blows it up, deactivating all the battle droids, after that the CIS began making there Droids operate on there own independent logic, so they couldn't be stopped on a wide scale so easy again, the downside was that the droids were pretty obsolete and so the were pretty much bumbling morons as such throughout the rest of the series, fun fact from someone who has spent way to much time learning this stuff
Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations: “My Lord, is that legal?” Putin: “I will make it legal.” *vetoes UN Security Council resolution
Even by today's standards it looks very good, it doesn't necessarily look realistic, but the usage of prop-supported CGI has something really unique to it.
0:05 Shall I make this scene 1,000x more terrifying? Each C-9979 Droid landing craft carries 4368 battle droids total split between 11 MTTs holding 122 each and 28 PACs holding the same, 112. Plus 114 AAT tanks. And I'm counted at least 20 landing craft. Who knows how many they actually sent. No wonder Naboo security was overwhelmed immediately.

@@bacondorito the scaling looks just so bad. this invasion scene shows how big everything is and how much effort and ressources it actually takes to carry out a landing invasion. and it also shows how slow the procedure is. you cant just fly onto a planet with high speeds and such
