Absolutely, Tradescantias one of my favourite plants. Especially this variety growing straight and having this nice pink colour is so charming. I love hanging baskets with other varieties too.In which climate do you propagate them directly in the soil? Many people wrote me that the cuttings get rotten in the soil.

I did this as well and gave one to my mother in law. I did a 2nd cut and now i have the mother plant plus another pot growing so much. The only thing i am running into is that the mother plant only grows upwards when she has new baby plants growing. Other then that it hangs because is too long 😍

Hi Talia, do you plant them in soil directly or you put them in water? Sometimes, if it's too hot, they may get wilted, if they are planted directly in soil without roots. Don't give up. :) Yes, they are easy growers, but they have tiny thin roots and when underwatered they can be damaged severely and will not recover. You would think this would be an easy plant, being more common, but I find mine only looks good when very small. Even when it’s outside for the summer. It gets plenty of light, hanging in a tree, mostly direct morning light, then dappled light. When I bring it in in the fall, that’s when it starts to decline, though maybe it doesn’t like my underwatering routine. I cut it back and start over, it always comes back. This fall I’m going to repot in a faster draining mix and try watering more, maybe try it under a grow light.

Yes, of course, people spend years and work really hard to make a new stable and beautiful variety. But I absolutely share your thoughts that there is life in the plants🌸🌸🌸

@@AnnasViolets that plants are alive is not a point of view, it's literally a fact.

How can you patent a plant? F the government
@AnnasViolets
@AnnasViolets 2 месяца назад
They do cross-pollination and get a new variety. They patent it, as it's a hard work and not always successful. It's only for other greenhouses though, so that they do not propagate for commercial purposes.
