As someone who is actually Jewish, the Jewish mom really bothered me. The Christian dad was so nice to say he would go to temple if her if she went to church with them. I would have done that no problem.
JEWISH MUM has just reinforced the streotype of the "dissatisfied constantly complaining sour" Jewishmum.ref: Crazyex gf,even Naomi has more "shutzpah"
Stephanie doesn't seem to be very nice, if that is her 'happy face', I would hate to see her unhappy one. Don't know why she even went on this show.... she is so negative and her children are following in her steps! No one got up to even say goodbye.
good friends rock! Exactly what I thought. When she said she put on a happy face I was like does she know what a happy face is? Her constant nagging and bitching and complaining was exhausting. Honestly I would have just ignored her the rest of the week and left her in her room. And I agree about her children. Calling Ann Marie a cold hearted bitch because she tried to tell them how their bickering can affect others? Wow. I think her and the vegan from the last show should have switched. Now that would be super fun!
Honestly, her family is so used to her behavior, namely the husband, and he's so nonconfrontational he wouldn't dare speak his mind to her. The daughters have already inherited her worst traits, so it would be hypocritical of them to complain about their mom's behavior. So she's used to acting like this without anybody calling her out on it. She's overdue for someone to put her in her place.
They’re aren’t fanatic. These shows have a secret hatred of Christians, for whatever reason, and they encourage the families to over-act so more people will want to watch it. It’s a despicable thing to do
You know, I went into this not to like the Christian Republican family at all, but the dad just offered to go to synagogue with her seeing as she has to go to church with him and I had to pause because I was overwhelmed by it. That was such a sweet gesture from him AND THE BITCH THREW IT IN HIS FACE! Lady, most of these I've seen the Christian dad would have refused to answer and told you to enjoy church!
she didnt handle discomfort well plus she did go to that other religions thing previous n probably felt shed get enough of it just being with the fmaily for the week the thing is the 2 religions arent that disimilar itand i dont really thing she was even a hard core jew perhaps , however she changed her tune at the end n almsot brought a tear to me eye , she did try n be nice and open so hmmm
My family is Jewish, but I’ve been to all sorts of different religious places of worship and ceremonies, because I’ve always been taught to respect other peoples cultures and religions, and anyway it’s educational and interesting!
I would say I feel sorry for the dad but honestly what effort did he make to stop anything? I have ppl who tell me I raised my kids right cause they never got in trouble and r very respectful and even though I mostly just say thank u if I'm comfortable with them I explain when they was in my home under my care I felt I could say TY but everything they do now is their choice. I know ppl who I thought did a great job raising their children and they're in trouble, on drugs and other things. I just think as old as the kids were, they themselves r accountable for the way they behave but I do think she influenced them badly
Well, whenever you see horrible children, it's not their fault, it's the parents. We can clearly see it's their fault that they're so miserable to be around. God they seem like they never lighten up.
The Jewish dad has this "Meh" attitude about everything. The daughters disrespect each other constantly and he doesn't give a damn. They also disrespect their mom in the beginning and all she says is "Oh well, it's annoying" but doesn't even try to make them see they have to be more respectful and loving. I think that's bad parenting and you see the results: the kids are so self-entitled, just like their mother.
"We pray for the people involved in this show, lord, especially the editors 😇" AAAAAAHHAHAHAAAAHA. Those bible studiers sure seem to know a lot about reality TV!
Well, these shows are heavily edited 🤣🤣 ...and this episode was no exception. You can tell especially how they cut to an uncomfortable expression where they seem like they are listening to what somebody else is saying, but apparently nobody's talking - it's because they splice reactions from different contexts together (like facial expressions), to make it seem as if the atmosphere is always full of tension and drama. 😆 It's so obvious in certain parts. Entertaining, though! I'll give em that.
I like the dad. He offered to go to synagogue with her even though he’s Christian. I can’t understand why she couldn’t just go to church with him. What could it hurt?
I know second episode with Jewish mum and she refuses to accept another way of life and religious views. She's moody and mean and I think racists towards the family they are so kind.
I heard someone who studies those matters, that most Jewish are taught to despise non-Jewish... well, it doesn't seem otherwise... Perhaps those who aren't so attached to their 'being-Jewish' are more accommodating to people who aren't ...
Some people just feel uncomfortable in that type of setting you can't force someone to do something they don't feel comfortable doing what about respect for others comfortability and beliefs
@@sandyscookbook2799 That was not appropriate, but honestly... look at how the Stephanie's children interact with each other, they are so rude to each other all the time and even rude to the mom, no respect. The Christian family treated each other with a lot more love and respect. And, by the way, this has nothing to do with Christian or Jewish, but with knowing what good parenting is.
@@MVUK358I agree 100%.I have no religion. They are just devised to control masses.People should stop being afraid, and just concentrate on being good, kind people. That’s all that’s needed.
@@angelam886 EXCUSE ME??!! The WHOLE Bible is written by Jews to Jews!..and is ABOUT JEWS... Yes, It also includes Gentiles...which is the mystery of the Gospel. But..ummm..to say that it isn't OUR Bible is soooooooo uninformed.
Awe..it broke my heart when Ann Marie was outside crying while they were talking badly about her..my mother was a negative Nancy narcissist and I would’ve, and still would, do anything to have a mom like Ann Marie
I couldnt agree more. My mom has always been extremely judgemental and downright mean. She wouldve been rude to Ann Marie just like they were and its really a shame because shes an amazing, caring woman with alot to offer. Its their loss. I find it sad that people often mistake kindness for weakness.
I had a negative mom too, and would have loved any positive attention! I made sure when I worked in education to ask for those students who were the outcasts! Made sure they knew they were special! It doesn’t cost a cent to be kind!
"Well, I'm Jewish, I'm Jewish actually, i have to say I'm Jewish, did I mention I'm Jewish? Thing is, I'm Jewish, I can't, I'm Jewish, because I'm Jewish. Did I mention, I'm Jewish"....... Idk she seems Jewish..
@@amberrose1108 alot of Jewish are stubborn...knew a few....some were really nice but stubborn. Possibly because they were once favored by God, and still view themselves as such? Even the bible says they were a stubborn amd stiff necked group...and God knew them best.
Jewish Mama? Bottom of the barrel. She made zero effort to get to know the other family. She behaved judgementally, critically and worst of all RUDELY. She exhibited no class whatsoever.
That is one miserable human being ...honestly everything she encounters is weird or silly !! The lady is never happy or never has anything nice to say about anything .. It's kinda sad when you think about it . Never can she just smile and be happy and she complained from the time she stepped off the plane ..🤦🙄🙄
I am a Christian, but I do not like the Christian mom’s view on sexual purity. Yes, it’s better to wait until marriage, but you’re not ruined or damaged goods if you don’t. What about women who were raped or molested? Does that make them ruined? Unfortunately this is what Christian ‘purity culture’ looks like and it’s a very toxic ideology to teach young men and women. It’s biblical to wait until marriage for sex, but it’s not biblical to suggest that a woman is of less worth if she doesn’t.
THANK YOU. that candy bar talk is used a lot and its so harmful. the message is basically that you are ruined once you've had sex. you're gross and no man will want you. women have so much more to offer than just virginity. its so sad.
You are 100,% right even Elizabeth smart said that when she went home she got the gum talk when she went back to school and she felt useless..... I think all the comparisons to virginity that I have heard are ridiculous: used gum, dirty running shoes, melted chocolate bar ,old tape
I disagree with the toxic nature. Yes it can be, but anything can b toxic. I teach the girls sexual purity to guard their heart. Ur not "ruined " but ur heart can b broken. Sex is for a committed loving realtionship. It's fun & brings u closer to ur spouse. As women we bond thru sex, so it's important to b w a man worthy of u. Also children born out of a shaky relationship may not have a real dad. That realtionship is important.
All I know about Jewish people is what I watched on tv and I'm Australian and even I know that wasn't a good Jewish person! Jewish people are usually warm and welcoming and she was cold and unwelcoming!!
Don't get me wrong I absolutely love these shows...BUT seeing all the commercials from the early 2000s is just like a breath of fresh air lol...I'm looking at the back to school commercials and thinking omg my daughter is 13 and she's facing not being in school (classroom wise) since her spring break bc of a global pandemic 😳. It's something I'd of never even imagined back then to ever happen in my lifetime and I'm only 35 lol. Thanks for all these episodes they definitely help during quarantine 🕯♥️🕊 sent everyone's way!
Dude I am so over this virus. We were made to change masks at a doctor, grab from the same box of new masks.. I mean If this thing was actually more than a bad flu, there'd be way more cases. It's not actually that many people sick and I'm so over how my daughter, and every other kid, has their summer STOLEN. Then they dare keep saying "new normal" F!$# YOU MEDIA! ITS A BAD CASE OF THE FLU, PERIOD. ALMOST ALL PEOOLE THAT PASSED, WOULD HAVE DONE SO WITH A CASE OF REGULAR FLU DUE TO PRE EQUISTING CONDITIONS. We can't keep stopping life to avoid getting a cold that apparently POTUS is over. I'm sorry but they can't hide it if he's bad off. This thing is not that bad. Sick of everyone being scared.
People can be so destructive with each other when it comes to their superstitions. Religion should be a private meditation. A belief that shouldn't be forced upon another.
We're getting there slowly. It's already better than when I was a kid. People don't feel like they need to have something to believe in now, in order to lead a good life.
The problem is our private meditations affect our lives (not even religious, just whatever we focus on.) So people who focus on diametrically opposing ideas are bound to clash irl
What!? Our food slaps. I just don’t think you’ve had a enough exposure to a decent cook. I’ll have to get you in contact with my rabbetzin because her spicy salmon and couscous meals, alone, are just… *chefs kiss*.
Latkas matzo ball soup knish and bagels are amazing , my culture oddly enough makes something very similar to kugel and I love that and make that too. I’ve made homemade knish too.
Could Stephanie be any more rude to her host family? She just constantly made sure everyone around her was as uncomfortable as she was, however Ann Marie's family never gave in to her incessant negativity. On the other hand, Ann Marie seemed to be a ray of positivity in Stephanie's family. Yes I'm a Catholic and I'm also a Christian and I remember a priest teaching me...God doesn't make divisions, man does. We all could learn from this.
I wouldn’t care to participate in it either. It does seem weird to do, but she was definitely rude about it like she was with literally everything else.
After Craig's daughter sings beautiful little song. "We're not doing anymore performing tonight. I'm gonna go chainsmoke for awhile" - Father of the year
Tasha your voice rocks!!! I heard every word and I love the song you wrote you have great talent and you touched my soul young lady! I love love love it!!!!
Dude, I'll never forget when I saw someone who looked just like Stephan king at burger king and my mom told me to go up to him and ask. To this day, I still don't know if I ate a burger 2 booths down from ol' SK.
You might not be able to put the toothpaste back in or to take your words back, but sincere apologies and conflict resolution are a thing. The purity talk was disgusting. I can't imagine how a girl would feel if she was sexually assaulted after being taught that.
Honestly everything she said and “taught” Is stuff they say in Sunday school the purity thing the toothpaste thing are all things that they teach you in like church between the age of five and 10
i think they’re too old for a demonstration like that😭 it was also super passive aggressive she could have easily said to them “hey guys i don’t really like the way you talk to one another because….”
I am so so so so tired of seeing religious people being so MEAN. That Jewish family was awful. The mother especially. 😡😡😡 That Christian family was so sweet and friendly, and that Jewish family was just full of rude bratty people.
@@helixmoore7636 well the Pharisees hated him so I guess that was passed down possibly. I just think it was sad that those who came from a once chosen race that would bring about a savior for the world aren't spiritual people! But I talked to many Jewish people and they say they really aren't religious they just are born into the culture.
Tasha can really sing. All the kids in the second episode were so sweet. Maura definitely is humorous and possess great social skills despite being homeschooled and living life on the go(RV).
Obviously Stephanie Egly's faith isnt strong because Jews would not be offended by prayer. I've known and been acquainted with people of the Jewish faith and they never had an issue so her always blaming the Jewish faith is just her
Well and talking to a few Jewish people many have made the point to tell me that they are born into the culture of Judaism but they aren't spiritual people. So everything in their life is dictated by religious tradition such as not working on a Sabbath day, eating Kosher foods only, ritual baths, bar mitzvahs and such. But it's just tradition has nothing to do with spirituality. And they've been waiting over 3500 years for a messiah... that they still can't recognize yet which further makes it more of a cultural thing and not a spiritual thing. You've got to realize they've got over 600 laws and 10 basic Commandments. That's what they're religion consists of. And they don't sacrifice anymore and don't recognize many of the laws... so it just comes down to Ritual
Stephanie keeps saying she doesnt want to talk about religion and she doesnt want everything to be all about the religion but yet shes the one who was constantly talking about how shes Jewish *walks into bible study * "IM JEWISH SOOOO" everyone was like ..........ok? Like dude no one cares
@11:18 he really made sure he caught himself I could have swore he was going to say "she's more positive than my wife" but remembered his wife would see it 😂😂
She was probably fuming when she heard her husband say how attractive the other woman was, and her saying he was handsome when they first saw each other at the airport
Sam da Silva why pay so much for education unless you become a doctor or lawyer ? Everything is going digital imagine the people that paid so much for college for things that no longer have people even doing them ?
I definitely don't agree about college being a waste unless ur a dr or lawyer, I make a nice comfortable living and I'm not ither of those things. I live in a nice home that's paid for and have 5 automobiles all paid for because of my job that I had to go to college to have. I have 3 children 1 grown and recently out the house and 2 a 20 yr old and a 3 yr old both with autism and special needs and because of my college education I can save for their future to make sure they've things even after I'm gone. My oldest is in college and I would give anything if my other children was even able to go.
I was really impressed by the shackleford mom being so receptive to what the O’Brien mom said about making it more about the kids. She could have gotten upset or offended but she was a big enough person to admit she could improve. That was such a great thing to see and really showed how much she did care about her kids. I give her huge props!! ❤️ And I hope things only got better for them ❤️
I thought it was really funny when Stephanie said she would put on a happy face, I couldn’t tell the difference between her normal cold snotty look and her happy face. Man her name should be Rude Jude! Christian dad doesn’t look like Phil Donahue, he could be a brother to Jerry Springer. The christian family comes out shining in this episode.
I think Craig's daughter reminds him of his ex-wife or someone else he has told himself to hate...like the way he was starring at his own daughter when she was singing was very suspect.
The campavan family was really nice. They had a clear understanding of each other. Towards the end I was surprised they actually had a beautiful big home
I know everyone’s talking about the yodeling but Kyle on that fiddle was quite impressive. It’s not a simple instrument to get a nice tone from, you can tell he’s out in some years on it. 👏🏼👏🏼
When the Christian mom said “what if you find someone who’s fantastic (at sex) and then you find someone who isn’t and you’ll think about that fantastic person all the time?” 🤭🤣
I’d like to know how the show ensures the money is spent on those specific items they’ve designated the money for. Seems like that would be a difficult thing to do.
@@andiegreen2304 someone once said that one of the kids on the show said they get to spend it how they like. They tell them after just so they can get real reactions lol Not sure if it's true though
They can't, really. It's not even given to them until after the show aired, and after taxes, it's much less than 50K, so you can't really spend it how it's allotted since no one's ever said "After taxes, I'm giving you... to spend on...". I don't think the producers really had the time or energy to ensure it was spent exactly as stated in the letters.
Very proud of the daddy that’s working on being a better more attentive daddy! Most improved contestant!! The singing mom was a blessing to both families and I’m super proud of the other mom for being a good sport and singing with the new family when she didn’t want to. Plus I was blown away with the house the singing family had at the end!!!! Wow 😯 didn’t see ghat coming. I Love all these people. I could learn much from the singing mother.
I was also impressed at the way the dad handled her leaving money for parenting classes and the seminar. I just wish there was a follow up to see if he actually did it and if things improved
I find it hilarious that someone prayed for the editors and then the dinner scene audio/visual was stitched and looped to make it sound/look more chaotic. @ 37:19 You can hear portions of the exchange repeat at least twice. Listen for the dad to say “should be back here by nine” in the exact same tone and cadence twice.
1:20:20 if I heard my daughter sing like that, I would be shit damn girl you can sing! I would be super proud of her. I’m so proud of Michelle, she hates singing but she gave it a go.
That's because being Jewish isn't just a religion. It doesn't just involve her faith, it encompasses every aspect of her culture and her life. I'm not saying the way she acted was correct at all, just explaining.
The Egly family kinda sucks. They were just rude, thoughtless and went out of their way to be flippant and dismissive to Ann Marie...who genuinely just wanted them to be happy. That was her one goal and they treated her like crap for it so I say let em stay miserable and calloused. The girls are on a direct path to being just like their mom....and it seems like the only thing that makes her happy is hating everything and announcing it. Its definitely a crappy way to live tbh.
Ok….as a Christian, I think it’s awful around 18 minutes that people were shown with discouraged or frowning faces. I suspect that these were not reactions to the Jewish woman but were cut in to give us drama. The Jews are God’s chosen people, & we all believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; my guess is that they were happy to have her there.
The only thing I really don’t like that the Christian mom did was the candy bar analogy. Suggesting that you’re worth less to a man if you have sex before marriage. That’s an extremely harmful mentality. Especially including words like “disgusting”. It’s not her place to teach purity to someone else’s children.
My half sister that I never met is in the episode and seeing her up bringing really made me understand why she never wanted to talk to me or my dad. My sister is elizabeth and it's so crazy seeing her as a young child. 🥴
How rude, disrespectful, and outright nasty the Jewish family was! I'm a Christian, and these are the kind of true Christians that I know. Most of us are like this, not like those typically portrayed on TV and movies--with no grace, no tolerance, no love for all. I was so excited to see a Jewish family and a Christian family come together, and this was so sad to watch. She is a living descendant of our beloved-and shared!-prophets. I would've hoped for more open-mindedness from the Jewish mother (after all, she claims to be a liberal), because we're really not all that different in our beliefs, and even if we were, I would have expected her to at least be kind. That was so sad to watch, but I'm also pleased that the Christian family stayed true to the spirit of Christ.
Does Stefanie have one good thing to say? she is so negative and not even happy or happy. She is not interested in looking at another life. Oh man if I had you in my family it would be the person you deliberately forgot to invite.I myself am a believer, but I would never presume to act so rude and irreverent with other people who just want to deepen their faith. Impossible such a behavior.
k k she is AWFUL. I don't think it has anything to do with faith I think she's just an ugly person in general. I said if I had her for the week I would just ignore her and go about our regular lives. I hope she at least has the grace to be ashamed of how her children presented themselves. Calling the new mom a cold hearted bitch for talking to them about their bickering? I would be humiliated!
Stephanie Egly reminds me of the angry uptight Jewish women who live in rich Fairfield County, CT. If they're not upset about one thing, they're pissed off about another thing. Ann Marie Doverspike reminds me of a middle class homemaker mom. Those are the best kind of women. So perky and cheerful and their smiles just make my day. Christian women seem to inherit that trait more than Jewish women.
Half of the Christian Bible is the JEWISH testament. And THEY BELIEVE IN THE SAME GOD. Stephanie and her family claim to be Jewish but doesn't follow the Jewish law. I guess that's why Jesus spoke about the Jews following tradition and missing the point. :(
I had a few high school friends from very religious families, it annoyed me when they would push their beliefs onto me, i put up with it because they were super nice.
Coffins shouldn’t be annoying at all, because they’re trying to tell you how you need a relationship with Jesus and need to confess your sins and get saved. Put your faith in him so you can go to heaven and so you can know him in this life too
@@amberrose1108 so say I was satanic. You wouldn't be annoyed if I pushed satanic views onto you? " Satanism is about believing in yourself, blah blah" Sure you would, and there's nothing wrong with being annoyed.
Something that bothers me about this show is how at the end they all say how awesome of an experience this is yet one mom or both refuses to experience anything! They’re supposed to go to each other’s house and live the way the other one does and then at the end of the week try things the new moms way! THATS THE EXPERIENCE! Yet someone always cries about it! And some of the men on the show act like cry babies too! Like if you didn’t want a stranger in your home observing your life and showing you hers then you never should have signed up don’t be a an asshole about it! But some of the husbands are awesome and even when they don’t like something they do it bc that is the point of all this!
