@@t-bird4738 provide the court with your vehicle registration or title proving that it’s a 2011. It’s technically inaccurate information the officer provided on that violation submitted to the court. I can’t promise you that they’ll show leniency like they did with me but it’s definitely worth using that mistake against them and to your advantage as those years are a difference of 12. Models have changed quite a bit throughout that amount of time

I think that's more fair than a fine. $200.00 is more than 2 days of my pay. The Court knows how devastating that is to people. The officer was obviously sitting in an area to pick people off. +kaz9781 Does waze keep track of your speed or show it on any map to show your speed at any point on a road? I am not talking about those apps that simply show your average and maximum speed for the trip. I am using NMEA tools and it can log the data from the GPS itself. It draws a line on the map everywhere you go and it is surprisingly accurate. I got the pro version of it since the free one records limited amounts of data. You do not need a data plan to use this, I use it on a phone that has no service presently and that does not stop it from working. This app can also let you review the trip or you can somehow open the NMEA file in Google Earth. It is easy to use and not bloated or over decorated like some apps. I don't like apps that have too clean of a UI, they are sometimes harder to work with because of not being able to find things and that is horrible. You can view the NMEA on a PC with the right software, all you have to do is copy it to the PC somehow.

J whome Under maybe only a bit, I hate getting behind someone who brides the brakes before they hit the limit for fear of a ticket being 1 MPH over. I think they would find that the police in most places won't bother you over just one MPH over. Many car speedometers are not accurate down to one MPH anyhow and it is common for them to read more than the actual speed anyhow. That may be one reason why some people are so slow.

a lot. It was on highway 95 approaching Las Vegas, Nevada from the south. Somehow, the town of Boulder City got the right to write tickets 20 miles out of town on that highway. I know, it was by extending the city limits. I asked the cop why he pulled me over. He said "we got an anonymous tip that a vehicle matching your description was seen weaving down the highway". That was an absolute lie - neither myself nor anyone else had been weaving down the highway. He walked around my car until he finally found a 2 inch windshield crack at the very bottom right, and wrote me a citation, and also for no insurance - although I had insurance. I went to court and I didn't like the judge one bit, nor the circumstances. He gave me a time frame to return with proof of a new windshield, which cost me $250. I told him I would do it, and he said, "You'd better do it, Mr. (my name)". What POS punk with a black robe. I also brought the proof of insurance, so they couldn't hammer me for that, although if you understand their BS system, my name was initially charged with a misdemeanor criminal offence with a large fine for not having insurance. In addition to all this, the cop never gave me the ticket. So I had to telephone the PD to get a copy before I showed up in court! Separately from all this, what would have happened if I brought up the ALL CAPS thing with my name? "Your honour (choke, choke), any lawyer worth his salt from the last five centuries, particularly in England whose law forms the basis for ours, would instantly recognise the significance of an all-caps criminal charge. What if I addressed you as not Your Honour, but Rabbi, Doctor, Inmate, etc.? Well, that is how you are addressing me - it's not my title, it's not what I am. Case dismissed." Then it's time to file criminal charges against them.

Its apparent why you got a ticket. but set that aside. You had proof of insurance. NO. = ticket. Windshield broken = ticket. fix it. no fine. If you got no tik.....why did you go to court? how did you know when/ where to go? There were no speeding tiks in Merry Ol England. Horses didnt go that fast on Hwy 95. Most of your defense starts when the cop pulls you over and writes the ticket. One the ticket you write without prejudice. Then before your name you can either write NA (non assumpsit) or VC (Vi Coactus - under duress, especially sine an ARMED 'highwayman' is detaining you. Those are two parts of a longer process. Karl Lentz can provide a bit of insight, but be careful with the information...

Very minor errors like that don't warrant a ticket being dismissed - misspelling a name, street, putting an "old" present address, etc. For example, if I got a ticket that said "Mathew Smith" I couldn't get the ticket dismissed because my name actually has two t's in it. Similarly, if they put the street name as McGuire instead of Maguire, still no dice. However, f they put the incorrect location/date/name, then, generally speaking, it's easy to get dismissed by using the mistake to your advantage - prove you weren't at that location, prove you were busy on the (wrong) date in question, show that you're name is different. It's worth mentioning that it also depends on the offense... the more serious the offense, the more likely that the crown will exhaust extra resources and be less forgiving the the "alleged" offender. Basically, the crown can forgive minor issues like the ones you're asking about at their discretion - assume they will - best to find a better defense than "hey, you didn't cross your t or dot your i". Disclaimer: I'm no Harvey Specter... I'm just a fairly decent armchair lawyer when it comes to these smaller "particulars" because I enjoy researching (by)laws, case law, etc. to better understand a my rights in specific circumstances. If you know where to look, you can find a lot of your jurisdictions (by)laws online in a PDF format.

That might be a magistrate or mayor's court. Neither are REAL courts with respect to the law. They are just administrative courts.

That means not a court of law. You should show up with a few friends ( witnesses) and demand proof of personom and subject jurisdiction. Learn what those mean so you can then lawfully walk out of that court.
