The most tragic thing about it is in fact his violin. Often downplayed by those that don't really know his story, but he is an absolute genius with that violin. We have a severe health problem in the US and people are too stubborn and ashamed to properly discuss it. We should be concerned about this crisis, and talk more candidly about it. One of the issues is that we encourage people to never try to be better and that the way they are is perfect. This is a blatant fallacy that only seeks to make people feel better, not to make them healthy physically or mentally. It's the psychological equivalent of the fast food those same people are consuming en masse and does more harm than good.

The whole "why do vegans have to make everything about being vegan" is not exclusive to vegans, it's a very first world mentality where you have to identify yourself and everything you do with 1 aspect of your personality whether its being vegan, being gay, being white, being from Ireland, being the sporty guy etc etc. People have decided being a fully rounded human isn't the way forward its just making everything about yourself 1 thing and 1 thing only. Edit: For people who want to get hung up on the specifics for some reason rather than the overal point, replace gay for any sexuality, white for any race, ireland for any nationality etc the point remains the same they were just random examples 😆

Hmm, partly. Religion has always warped peoples entire identities for the whole of human history. In some cases veganism is like a religion, not that it’s belief in a supernatural being, but in that it’s a set of morals and values pertaining to how you live. In that regard, someone making it their identity isn’t that odd. What is odd is how all these people become vegan just as a fad or because it’s hip and now and then make it the identity. If it’s not a fundamental way you view the world (say as a Christian, your belief in god and supposedly loving thy neighbor as yourself, or as a vegan: to reduce harm caused to all sentient life as much as possible) then making it your identity is indeed very modern and dystopian.

the issue with people on vegan diets isn't the weight, it's that they are constantly spiking their glucose with all the carbs. so while it's possible to lose weight as a vegan because you're not introducing fats while spiking your glucose so you don't store excess weight, you're also becoming nutrient deficient and losing muscle mass at the same time and if your body can't get certain nutrients it takes them from your own body and so vegans are notorious for having brittle bones and bad teeth unless they are constantly taking supplements which have their own risks for kidney function.
@lightworker2956
@lightworker2956 Год назад
The traditional Asian diet is endless amounts of white rice plus some vegetables and only a tiny bit of animal products (because that's all they could afford). If you're right that "spiking glucose with all the carbs" is a problem, then the traditional Asian diet would be disastrous. However, the traditional Asian diet is actually very healthy, much healthier than the western diet. You can look up The China Study if you don't believe this. There's a reason why we associate Asians with being slim, healthy, long-living and productive -- it's because eating a ton of carbs actually rocks. It's the fuel your body wants. The healthy way to eat is high-carb (preferably with lots of fruit) low-fat. Also, Nikocado Advocado fell off the rails partly because his style of veganism was eating endless... avocado's, i.e. high-fat low-carb food. If you want to see what vegans look like who eat low-fat high-carb, look up youtubers Durianrider or "The frugivore diet."

My parents constantly reminded me that I needed to lose weight. To the point where the last words my father said to me were, " Listen to your mother and lose weight." I was heartbroken 💔 😢. After my father passed away, my mother let up a little bit. However, I was stressed about it all the time. Stress causes the body to produce more of the hormone cortisol: cortisol is a stress hormone that promotes body fat and makes it harder to lose weight, especially around the middle. I tried losing weight, but it was useless because I didn't overeat. I only ate one meal in the middle of the day, so really, I was eating less than 1000 calories a day. My mother knew this and encouraged me to eat 3 meals a day, but why eat when you have no appetite. In June of 2021, my mother suddenly was one and a half years after my father. I went into a deep depression and mourning because I am originally from the Netherlands, and this is where my mother lived. Because of covid, the last time I saw and hugged my mom was Dec 27 2019. A week before my father died. I had had the vaccine against covid and was planning a trip home when she died. Out of the blue, I now started to lose weight rapidly. I am still losing weight going down from 220lbs to now 164lbs. I think that the constant reprimands about my weight were so stressful to me that they actually stopped me from losing weight.

@You've got mail I was afraid of letting them down, my parents always set high expectations, and when you would finally reach them, they would up the bar. So, as a child, even though you've grown up and have children of your own. They start to use your parenting skills and still keep pressuring you. My father was a narcissist, and everything had to be exactly the way he wanted. He also used my mother to make his will known. I married my husband 37 years ago. He was in the Air Force. My parents tried to actively stop our relationship, and my marriage. When we moved to the United States the first time in 1986, our furniture shipment was held up because in the same container, other people had put drugs in with their household goods. So we rented a small 2 bedroom apartment because I knew that my parents would come and visit. We lived on borrowed furniture, and even though I strongly suggested in the spring when we still didn't have our furniture,and didn't know when we would get it because we had moved in November 1986, for my parents and sister to wait at least until we had our furniture they insisted on visiting. They flew into LA, and my dad had rented a car. So, I flew to LA a few days ahead. All of my husband's family lived in the Beach cities by LAX, so it was decided my parents and sister would stay with my brother and sister in law in their home in Manhattan Beach. And I stayed with my inlaws in Redondo Beach. I told my parents when they arrived again that we didn't have any furniture yet. And suggested I could have my husband book a double motel room in Las Vegas where they would be more comfortable. No, they wouldn't hear of it. Why stay in a motel when they could stay with us for free. I gave up. They had a good time in LA because you go to all the usual places. Then they were going to stay with me in Las Vegas for 2 weeks. And unless you like gambling, there is really not much to do in Las Vegas. And sure enough, after their first night, I was told how I didn't prepare for their stay that they didn't have hangers for their clothes, that I should have told them we only had lawn chairs to sit in etc. This is how my parents were, of course, my sister who went to university and got a doctorate degree in the Dutch language. Well, she could do no wrong. Even as children, I was constantly told to be more like my sister. If my sister did something wrong, she would say I did it bec ause at a young age, she had already caught on that I would be blamed anyway. Even if you try to go, no contact, I would get an email or a phone call to call my mother because she was worried about me. It was all about control, blame, and being called to sensitive, to emotional. It's setting you up to fail whatever high standard you didn't meet again. It causes so much stress and apprehension that, in the end, my visits to the Netherlands and I went every year. We even stayed with the Air Force in Europe for as long as possible because I had their only grandchildren, and they did love them very much. Even though I was a bad parent. Because I let my boys play with fake guns. Cops and robbers and such. Even though I was wrong to worry so much about my son with HFA that I made sure he would get all the help he needed. There is nothing wrong with him. My father would say, "Stop doing this and just let the boy grow up." HFA runs in my husband's maternal side. My brother in law has it and can barely function he lived with his mother, who passed away in March. Now he is alone and needs help with everything, like buying a house, getting car insurance, and having his utilities hooked up. We had to help him with all that because his parents never did anything to get him help. My son is completely independent he is a Sgt in the Army and is stationed in the Cavalry at FT Hood. He has a T.P.S. clearance and cross trained from being an Apache mechanic to the job he has now, and he loves it. That's the difference between early intervention and just letting the boy grow up. Once we moved back to the States, I called my parents every week. Off course they had to come and visit. And surprise, surprise, they found we had bought the wrong house. Of course, then they had the brilliant idea to have me send my boys now 12 and 14 fly to Amsterdam and rent a R.V. to take them on a tour through Europe. Of course, it didn't turn out the way they expected, and I was once again at fault. This didn't let up until after my father died. I had a year and a half to build some kind of relationship with my mother. My father died through Euthanasia wich is legal in the Netherlands. He ended up in a wheelchair in a nursing home because of his own stubbornness of not doing anything his physical therapist, his home health nurse, even his doctor told him. He had a form of Parkinsons and had he gone and admitted this sooner because the sings were clear to everyone, his hands shook so bad that my parents stopped eating soup because my father shook so much, he didn't want to be tested. Completely denied that anything could be wrong with him. And so when they found out that something was wrong, it was too late and the only thing he wanted was Euthanasia. Just because his pride was hurt because now some needed to help him go to the toilet. Other than the Parkinson symptoms , which were now being controlled with levodopa, he wanted to die. He broke my mother's heart they had been an item for 65 years, 5 years of dating and engagement, and 60 years of marriage. She even asked him, but what about me? He never wanted her to have friends because that would take away her attention from him. When people came to the door, he would tell her they were not to come in. So after he died, she was alone with just my sister. When my mom passed away in June 2021. I had a complete breakdown. I felt that even from the grave, my dad still had such a hold on my mom that now she felt useless and alone. That's what happens when you're raised by a narcissistic parent who, no matter how hard you try, still will not let you just be the person you are and not some form of the person they force on you.

The fact that you were eating so little could also have been a factor. If we don’t consume enough then our body tries to conserve calories. It’s a protection against starvation during a famine hut also why people often gain more after a diet than they lost during it.

Mukbang doesn't necessarily make you fat. The difference between then and now for Nic is that he used to cook his food whereas now he orders in, or makes very quick to make food (usually ramen). Him cooking the food occupied time in the stream so he didn't spend the entire time eating, and he could fill up the stream time while eating less. He could also do what other Mukbang channels do and only stream every second or third day while eating little to nothing in between. That's how the Korean Mukbang stars manage to do it without getting fat.

I don't know Nick Avocado's story, but my guess would be that he found success on RU-vid via his eating videos. Then he probably went down that rabbit hole to where he is today. Hopefully Nick finds a way out of his predicament and can live without the weight of an extra person on him. I know I hate it when I'm like 5 lbs overweight. I can really feel that. Having 100+ or 200+ extra must be depressing.

So there are a few things to this. Mukbangs are popular for many reasons, they live to watch others eat, they want to feel like they’re eating with someone else, and for others (like me), it’s to see good food and where to get it. Nikakado is an actor, he knows what he’s doing and he plays up his character because it’s his stage to do as he pleases. That explains his attitude and personality, but not his weight gain. And to that, it’s wholly his fault for doing mukbangs nearly everyday. There are plenty of mukbang channels that do it once a week, and then they spend the rest of the week eating healthy and working out. They counter the weight gain with a week of healthy loss, and repeat. Nikakado never did that, constantly eating over and over without giving himself the break to actually lose it. So I honestly don’t feel too bad for him since it’s 100% his fault.
