I got mine done two days ago and the healing process so far has been a lot less painful than the helix was. Mostly just pressure only issue is putting on a taking off shirts bumps it a lot

Got my tragus pierced 2 days ago after wanting one for several months. My piercer told me to use H2Ocean Piercing Aftercare Spray or do thr sea salt soaks. I don't have any pain or swelling and my piercing looks super cute and dainty 😇

I got my first tragus (left side) done in 1996. What we did back then was: anti bacterial soap like dial, lather it, clean the outside and get the soap inside while moving the jewelry in the path it was pierced on. Thoroughly rinse the soap and continue to move the jewelry back and forth to rinse the soap out. Healed with no problems, no keloids. In 1995 I did the belly piercing. Same thing applied but we used iodized salt (iodine being an antimicrobial like they use in prep for surgery) mixed with water in a cup. Put the cup over the belly ring and lay flat for 20 minutes. The glass sort of forms a suction on the stomach. Wounds need to be cleansed daily. I would not touch or move the jewelry unless it’s been warmed up and softened with water. We also cleaned the steel part of the jewelry with rubbing alcohol (just the jewelry, not the hole). When we clean patient wounds, we use sterile saline or Silvadine, depending on what the doc orders. For me the best way to clean my piercings was in the shower, last thing I did, and dry the with a clean tissue or paper towel, not the towel you dry yourself off with. This is just my experience and how we did things 20 years ago Edit: sterile gauze works great for a compress. Make sure your hands are washed first

I got both sides peirced so i use a travel pillow to sleep on my side

Mine took more than a year to fully heal and it was done by a needle 😕 Side note I don't recommend getting both tragus piercings at the same time💙

My piercer told me to use antibacterial soap 🤣 smh 🤦🏽‍♀️ she didn’t give me any instructions and I’m so glad I looked up how to clean this piercing and you were the first vid that popped up ! And I was literally going to get regular salt 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️ so once again I’m glad I came across this vid !!!!

You should avoid sleeping on it because the ear has less blood flow than the rest of your head. When you compress the vessels and veins, you decrease blood flow and drainage of fluids that come with trauma to the cartilage. The better you care for your piercing, the better it will heal.

I got my tragus last december 24 and I never feel any pain or swelling until now AND I LOVE IT!!! the pain is 1/10 like I only feel it when I get pierced and nothing after that!

I have a double tragus with hook jewelry and man first thing my piercer said use dial antibacterial soap and a q-tip and move the piercing to clean it. And I’m like...this video contradicted my whole life.

My tragus was messed up by the first piercer.... luckily I have found a great piercer that has done the rest of mine 👌

I got my Tragus Piercing today, It's very cool n' unique thooo🤦🏻‍♂️❤️ I'm in love with it.

You can take the glass of salt water and seal it round the ear so it doesn't leak then tip your head a bit till the water comes in contact with the piercing, easy, even if it gets in the ear it should be OK, salt water won't harm the ear, you get worse swimming.

"Unless you have a bucket and a snorkel and dunk your head in there" 😂

antibacterial soap is actually a good way to help heal with the soaks done it with all my piercings and healed great

I am also here after tragus piercing but i cannot feel the much more pain than other piercing !I did a pretty good .😁

I dont know why so many 'piercers' told people to move their piercings??? Mine told me to move them so I can clean the front and back holes with a qtip!! Luckily I've been watching enough piercing videos to know that moving the piercing will only slow down the healing process and came to my senses after the first day 😂

I’m sticking my ear by the ac now. The cold air provides relief from the pain, I got my tragus pierced last week, it doesn’t have discharges but the tragus is swollen and throbs and feels like on fire sometimes, my piercer told me to use saline spray and qtips hmmm but it doesn’t feel enough. The saline soak does help.

I have a conch and they told me to rotate it every once in a while and O m g I’ve been issuing q tips fml

Just changed my tragus for the first time in a year and a half i definitely let it heal and didn’t want to do anything till it took it time so after i can style it to my liking

Very helpful, Just got min pierced yesterday and she told me to only clean it once with some almond lavender oil, but I was skeptical. Its too sore for me to move it or even smile sometimes, but I dripped a few drops of saltwater on there and tried my best to get it inside the piercing, it didnt work too well. I hope its less swollen tomorrow so I can get it cleaned properly

Just got mine done 2 days ago... Using antibacterial soap in shower... And saline soaks... I'll start the salt water soaks next week... Still very sore but I love it...also taking zinc...I wont change this bar for a while .. Took a little motrin also 😊

I do several things to my tragus that you're saying not to do 😮 I use bactine everyday and I use q-tips 😲 It's been well over a year, but it still bothers me. I'll stop the bactine and q-tips and do the soaks you're suggesting. Thanks a lot!!

I got mine pierced yesterday, and my piercer gave me a little bottle of piercing cleaning liquid, I’m gonna assume that’s fine to use. She told me to clean the outside and inside. We’ll see how it’ll heal

how long does it (usually) take for a tragus to swell down? I got mine two weeks ago, and it was perfectly fine but yesterday and today I’ve noticed it’s a little bit swollen and i’m not sure if that’s the normal process or i’m just overcleaning it or sth

I used gauze pads to do the compress and never got any fibers or anything coming off of them

Snatched mine yesterday and its a bit red and swollen but my piercings get swollen the first week and i ve been using soaked cotton with sea salt to clean it

So I just got it done 4 days ago and it was fine not hurting until after I got off work today and now it hurts to smile and it just feels like it’s very swollen

The place I always get my piercings from provide the things to clean it with I got mine don't 2 days ago and it hurt but not as much as I expected it is still swollen and hurts but I can feel the pain fading away a bit

Why is it that on some people their tragus got thicker and looks a little swollen permanently ? did the cartilage get damaged ?
