Looks great John! good idea! Just looked at your stabilizers too... I like the style of them but need a little longer variety for the clearance I have.. anyways, good stuff! Joe
Very Nice Job, John. A couple heavy steel Wobble Wheels would work nice on each corner for the backend to help with any hitting the rear corners. I'm looking for a trailer sorta/kinda like that one you have. I want it for a BugOut Trailer with all my stuff in it. I don't want to build anything in it as far as cabinets or Beds just open. Maybe a rack for our containers with our hiking and camping things.
That is cool that you have it for a BugOut unit also. IF you ever come up with some really good ideas to make or put in it Please send me a PM on the "About" page and let me know what it is you've come up with. I'm designing a rack that my will fit in and with a few screws it will come out real quick for something else.
Hi John, good job on those stabilizer bars.I like the idea of the skid plates. Have done a video on job quotes,I'm new to doing cnc plasma work and have no idea how to give anyone a quote. Any info would be helpful. Thank You!
check out the youtube channel welding tips and tricks. The best thing is to get a welder and start building non-critical projects, like a welding table, welding cart, or whatever (nothing that goes on the road like a trailer). Experience is the best teacher, but the channel I mentioned above will give you a good start (pick mig, stick, or tig depending on your budget). I can't speak for stick or tig, but I would definitely get a 220v machine if going mig.
Your skid plates won't get caught and pulled backwards? I'm thinking you should weld a second plate to the leading edge of these skid plate and angled upwards so that nothing gets caught on the leading edge of the skid plate.
I don't think so... there is some c channel back there and it never had that issue (across the whole back).... However, if it does I guess I know what my next trailer video will be. :)
