I love that solar system.... 1:25 "solar light, motion sensor, somebody walks up, light comes on and dog barks!" Interconnecting the dog to the night light sensor is GENIUS. 🤣🐶

I've chosen the off road A Liner with a bathroom option and solar package with the dormers. Very light weight to tow! Love it!

The ingenuity of this gentleman is inspiring. Also agree about not using water tanks and about the stuff that grows even in enclosed standing filtered water.

We loved our Aliner. We took out, the sink, the stove, water tank, and the bedding. We bought 2 good mattresses, a microwave, porta potty, ice chest, and an a/c and loved every minute. Bud, is correct. The aliner is terrific. It is easy to put up and down and goes everywhere.

wonderful information. I have been looking for what to look for in an A-liner for about 6-9 months and you have provided me with some great information. I don't care for the soft sided either. I know they rot out fast. My grandpa built one of the first soft sides in the 1930's which I still have the original plans for. we would go camping with them during the summer recess and we loved it. thanks again.

I bought a 2018 Aliner Expedition last year and love it. It has the dormers and comes with the indoor bathrooms with shower. When we're not camping, it stays in our standard size 2-car garage. Great video - thanks!

This is an amazing little home on wheels. I really like how he used galvanized pipe to replace original table support. We want to something different with our table in our 36 ft travel trailer we live in fulltime with our family. Thank y’all for sharing his home.

Really like the awning you made! My partner is living full time in our Aliner now and your awning design looks perfect. We have the model with a dormer and it adds enormous space. I see your point about the "useless" bubble window but one of our pups loves looking out of it all day :) Agree on the sink but we do use it. My issue with the sink is the countertop is too low so it kills my back to wash dishes in it. A couple Aliners have higher countertops so customers must have given feedback about the height.

I've always found these units to feel very spacious for their size possibly because the windows in the gables give a huge amount of interior light.

Hi Bob. Love watching your videos and love the different kinds of people you interview. And their different rigs. Your an amazing man. By showing people how to LIVE. By showing you don't have to settle for quote an quote what society thinks is normal. By being house poor. You are showing people you have a home just not a sticks an brick house. But a real home. And God bless you Bob. May he contuine to bless you and may you continue to be you. By showing people that what you are trying to teach them is POSSIBLE. 😁😁😁

I do all the driving with our A frame trailer as my husband has disabilities and doesn't drive often. It is a breeze to pull and it will go wherever you can get your car. Sometimes I almost forget its there until I look in my mirror and wonder why that person is so close to my bumper, but wait! Its just my camper. LOL I am not a full timer as of yet , but who knows what tomorrow might bring.

A liner seems like a neat way to go. A frame headroom, lightweight, flexibility. My only critique of stock designs would be more custom interior accents such as pine interior roofing to make a more homey feel.

Used to have an A-Liner Scout model - very basic and the lower price reflected that making it affordable as a new trailer. These are a definite step up from tenting ... get you up off the ground, the walls are insulated so provide more comfort, mine had an inside height of 9' 7", very easy to setup and take down ... and the list goes on. I only had minor issues with the foam sealing and had to replace with a kit you can get from the factory and replaced the original converter - that's it, no other issues. The only reason I sold it was I saw a Class B up for sale at a price I couldn't refuse. As mentioned, Slim Potatohead has a very good channel if you are interested in the A-Liners and the mods he's done. Cheers, Steve

I'm very happy to see folks making due..I truly hope this is sustainable and becomes acceptable. This is going to be more common as more folks retire and find out that the money they paid into for their retirement was poorly mismanaged and now left to fend on their own.. It's a great way to live within your means without being homeless. Best wishes and good luck because I myself thought I'd have enough S.S. but now I'm not far behind and looking for the RV life as an option as well. Thanks to Bob for all the invaluable information.

I was looking at the Flagstaff and Rockwood hard-sides from Forest river. To get the nice bathroom/shower/cassette toilet, you have to get the longer trailer. But I don't need the dinette or large bed. Would be nice to find something the size of Bud's but with the "deluxe" shower and toilet. I think the small hard-side is the answer for me.

@@janetbrowning9089 You could also do some trial runs with just you car or what ever you have, I have a ford escape. You can rig up a temp bed etc., and go on a short trip to see how things go and what you needed while there?
@janetbrowning9089
@janetbrowning9089 5 лет назад
@@pjd2709 This is true...I have thought of that too...my biggest reason for waiting is I am 6' tall and I don't think I could use a port-a-potty in my vehicle...lol Normally though, for most people, that would not be a problem, even if they were tall...but, I have a medical issue, Crohn's, that necessitates me using the bathroom very frequently and it isn't feasible in a car for me...otherwise, great idea and I would have already tried it. Thanks for the idea though...nice of you to think of ways to try it out.🚐😊

Watching the video again and realized this was out just before I got my Aliner! I really enjoy it and don’t get out enough. I don’t use the water system in it either. I use a urinal at night and typically have a bathroom the rest of the time but carry an emergency potty. I see so many rigs with everything inside but I typically do all my cooking, cleaning and lounging outside. I use an Exped Mega mat Duo 10 insulated sleeping pad for great comfort and warmth.
