This is exactly how my dad’s teacher died. He was at a crossing and didn’t see the second train.

A woman who worked for the same company I did got killed just like this. She was in a hurry to get to her bus and when the northbound passed she immediately crossed. She was struck by the southbound. They were still cleaning up when I passed by on the train on my way home that afternoon.

I was there I remember that! I remember I just turned and looked back to see him crossing and was about to yell and then you did, glad you seen that and was able to yell for him to stop

Wow, that guy almost got plastered. He had to be mightily distracted to not notice a train coming at him. This also illustrates why you should never assume that a second or subsequent train won't appear in multiple-track crossings after the first one passes.
