Hi everyone! Welcome on board a bonus video. Normally the next video would've been published next week, but now I have a extra video for you. And don't worry. Next week there will be another one. On many requests today I have another Delft Update for you. The 6th update on this matter. Let's see how the infrastructure looks nowadays after many other construction months.
0:00 Den Haag Centraal
We start the ride in Den Haag. Because of some problems with the the train I had to do a full reset at Den Haag. This took a little longer than I hoped because one of the compressors wasn't working for a while. Therefor I had to wait much longer before the air pressure in the trains systems was at the right level. With a three minute delay we depart from our first station.
2:35 Den Haag HS
With a two minute delay we arrive at Den Haag HS. The train dispatcher already gave us the green lights for a quick arrival and departure. Although that doesn't make any difference in this case because we come from tracks that allow maximum speed of 40km/h. And the 80 sign is located at the end of the platform.

On the right side you can see the ICNG on the shunting tracks waiting for another test ride.
6:13 Den Haag Moerwijk
Weird looking station with the orange houses if you aks me. :D
8:22 Rijswijk
At Rijswijk we encounter a signal that allows a lower speed (60km/h). There's a mistake in the video here. It should be limit speed to 60km/h. Sorry for the mistake. The lower speed is because of the intercity that was on our side at Den Haag HS. That intercity is delayed and is now blocking our path towards Delft. We have to slow down for a while.
10:58 Delft Update!
We have a green light ahead of us again. Time to gain speed and let you check out the new situation around Delft. As you can see a lot has changed in the the past few months. Still it will take until the end of 2024 before all four tracks will be in service at this point.
12:06 Delft
Entering Delft station. Still in the left tunnel side. In the near future the right two tracks will lead towards Rotterdam and the track (plus the one of the left) we're driving on now will be used for the The Hague direction.
On arrival at the station itself you can see big progress has been made at the platform level. Take a good look at the overhead wires as well. This is a different system from what is used normally. Instead of using wires we now use a overhead rail for high voltage in the tunnel.
15:24 Delft Campus
Coming out of the Delft tunnel we now arrive at Delft Campus. Also on this side of Delft a lot has been changed over time. New junctions, new tracks and so on. There are also four tracks at the station already. Not in use yet as you can see. There's still a lot to happen in this case.
Just after Delft Campus we'll come back on the two tracked line towards Schiedam. After the situation at Delft if finished those two tracks will be extended to four as well. But that's the next project.
Between Delft Campus and Schiedam you can see a lot of new signals waiting to get in service. With the new signals more trains can follow up on each other more quickly. This is needed for more frequent train connections until this part has four tracks as well.
21:08 Schiedam Centrum
Welcome at Schiedam Centrum. From this point on there are four tracks available again. The two on the left are most used. In the future the four tracks coming from Delft will be connected to there tracks.
24:22 Rotterdam Centraal
Arriving at Rotterdam Centraal. Although that's what we planned to do. We have to wait a little longer because the delayed intercity was split up at Rotterdam and the empty part of the train had to be shunted away first.
