I'd get this if The trains were good The route is actually finished The platforms... Basically if they actually spent a bit more time and released it in like a few weeks I'd have got it.
I had high hopes and so did a lot of people. What a disappointment this TS21 route was. Hope the update actually does it justice. Dunno about the trains and if they can be saved-
A fair review. I enjoyed the route but then again I didn't take an in depth look at most of the stations to see these glaring errors. Always love your reviews even if I don't comment
Another note for the 350... Shrewsbury is listed as a destination... even though LM only operated 170's in Shrewsbury in the 2010s... and also because of the fact that there is no OHLE within at least 1,414sq miles of Shrewsbury (west). Sooo big whoopsie Dovetail
I believe it looks terrible because I live near wootton basset in swindon wilts and the stone terminal is crap aka it's just a stupid line verging off in TS (this is the JT western mainlines I'm talking about!)
Hah I only paid £18 for this route AND Fife Circle; thank you Steam Sale + TS2021 Deluxe Bundle (the only way you should buy it; cheaper than buying the route itself) - I enjoy it tbf (I believe the updates have done a decent job as I didn't notice much issues myself), as I completed all passenger scenarios without issues and quick-drive has a great variety of AI so I don't have to worry too much about making more scenarios!
I didn't even have to watch the whole video to know that you were gonna be angry. Btw keep up the good reviews! I'm too lazy to go and check DTG myself....
DTG are just lazy. Simple as that really. If they could sell a route thats just an empty grass field they would do, and theyd chrage you £20 for the privallige.
7:00. Yaw, Here is an extra nitpick. The 350/2 (top left) is wrong. That is because in real life, you get a mix of a lighter green varient along with the green varient. The 350/3s (top right) is also bad because the lighting for the luggage racks is very dark. And all the other units are well lit. Also, the moquette is much brighter than that. (Facepalm) The only perfect one is the 350/1 albeit the moquette detail could be better and a little bit more worn out as the ex-silverlink trains IRL are worn out. P.S Yawwie, the amount of flaws dovetail games has made on the WCML made me laugh.
careful now you'll upset a certain john101 with commentary like this. but in all seriousness, this could've been a decent route. if only dtg had given it some time and just honestly delayed this route for a future dlc, i could've enjoyed it. but no, in dtg fashion, they rush it out like there's no tomorrow, hence an unfinished and unoptimized route. devs behind it got screwed big time. i'm still in the camp that they should've left the variation for this year and worked on the core itself, but if they can sort this route out and make it work as intended, with little to no flaw, i can give them props for that.
I was wondering if you could merge this route with the trent valley so i could go direct from Euston to stafford , are you able to do that as i might buy the trent valley route also.
I think this route is a great showcase for how disconnected DTG's corporate is from the dev team. There's a few things about your review I don't agree with though. 1. The Virgin logo on the front painted yellow. Some 390's, at least, did still have a mark for where the Virgin logo used to be on the front. Whether or not they still do I'm not sure, as I've not seen a Class 390 for some time irl, but you can notice on some of them where the logo used to be. 2. The London Midland license. Whilst I find it odd that they still have a valid license for it, as you mention it's largely down to licensing. It could also be the case that West Midlands Railway haven't allowed DTG to use their licensing, but I don't really think that's too big of an issue. At least it has a brand on it. 3. The Class 221 livery. Again, this is largely down to licensing. Sam has mentioned on stream, the TOCs themselves have some strict guidelines on what the liveries on the in game units look like. So, despite the livery not being quite right (I've not really seen the fully liveried 221 in a while tbf so I can't remember exactly what it looks like) it was probably a requirement by Avanti. 3a. The same applies with the 390 and potentially why a plain white livery wasn't available, as there's a possibility Avanti didn't allow it. I'm not 100% sure how likely that is, but it's possible that is the case. There tends to be very strict licensing guidelines DTG would have to follow with what they can put in the game. Otherwise a good review :) tbf I'm holding back on this one until DTG have fixed it. I'm glad they acknowledged their mistake and that they will hopefully be fixing this route. How this route in it's current form could be seen by anyone from DTG as acceptable, I have no idea, and how it was released is another mystery in and of itself. But I do appreciate DTGs acknowledgement of the mistakes they have made and their intention to fix things :)
Spot on about WCML South. Could have emphasized the terrible frame rate on this route a bit more I suppose. However, I have had fewer crashes with this TS2021 so far. Hopefully the bug fixes are real. Bugs, error trapping and program optimization have always been the most important for me. Maybe 2021 is a step in the right direction.
I got train simulator 2021 for free and got the wcml and the london Midland routes where broken because I can't drive it but the voygare was not there but the class 390 and the class 66 would only work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know who needs criticism, AP needs a hell of alot of it for example the class 377/375 EH and the Class 465 EH and the 365 EH, someday AP will come across this video and know that they need to fix there ways and take criticism for once.
same here, so hoping by the time i get back home off my hols DTG will have done quite a bit to improve it especially the foggy start at Euston, as thats what Alan Thompson had on his when he showed it us the other day and it was hopping mad and said he was going to be having words about the state of the Avanti route
Bought it on sale yesterday and it's much better than shown in the videos when it first got released. I don't like the 377 it's the same as the Chatham mainline for goodness sake. My favourite train has to be the 390. The 350 supplied is meh. I will definitely get the AP enhancements for the 221,377,350 and 390 next year to enhance it. 👍🏻😁
